07/01/2026: The place is okay. We paid €200 a night for 2 people, which is a lot, but understand, given there was a wedding and Country Arms Birr was fully booked, and it was NYE. Still, it was quite a shocking price—but then again, Ireland. It's expensive for what it is, but that's the nature of supply and demand, as they say.
We stayed in the front room, and the traffic noise was really bad. Worse than that, the heating in the room was off, and we couldn’t find anyone to help us, so there was no solution, and it was freezing. We woke up with the heat on in the morning.
It also has a breakfast with it, Irish fry up. It's okay.

The Bakery at Acorn & Oak

15/08/2025: We had no booking but they were still happy to accommodate a party of 7. The food was delicious and the serve was quick and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant and hope to visit again soon.
04/08/2025: Solid take-away thin crust pizza after a day at the beach. The dough is more crunchy than chewy. The vegetable pizza has a good amount of toppings, and the cheese is evenly spread. All the ingredients are fresh except for maybe the jarred jalapenos which add a nice heat to the pizza.

The service is amazing and the workers here are really friendly and helpful.
I decided to get a pizza and some tenders, pizza was fresh and well made and the tenders were amazing.
The place is really clean and well maintained aswell.
10/10 would recommend.
24/01/2026: My friend and I have always stopped by Supermacs to have our Meal B pizza deal.
The food is always prepared fresh and comes out quite quickly and in good quality. The same applies for the desserts such as the Muffin and icecream or Swirlies that we typically get afterwards. Supermacs continues to be the best place and re for us

02/01/2026: We stayed here and found the hotel itself to be fairly decent, and the room was okay overall. However, there was a dead bird on the roof right beside our window, which was quite unpleasant. When we went to get into bed, three out of four pillows had visible marks, as if they hadn’t been properly cleaned. After pulling back the bedsheet, we also noticed multiple hairs in the bed, which was disappointing and concerning. Breakfast was acceptable but nothing special. Overall, it wasn’t a great stay.
01/01/2026: Our stay was a mixed bag. The hits include the food, the general reception area which was laid out beautifully for Christmas, the breakfast which had a good selection of foods and the swimming pool when it was not full.
The misses were the welcome at reception which showed that we were not wanted except for our money, service at dinner or breakfast. Poor and unterested for the main part in the customer and the swimming pool when busy (2nd evening with some stupid local comments about residents) the coffee at breakfast which was not drinkable. A shower which just about functioned but needs replacing. Last but not least was that there was no bin in the mens public toilets. Basic things for a 4 star hotel.
Altogether, too many misses for us to be back
