27/07/2025: Very nice interior, cosy, great location. The food is good but the charcuterie board to share for two is very small for 30 euros and isn't for two but one. I know life as gone expensive but this was the smallest board i ve ever had. Q

03/08/2025: Went in to use the bathroom here during the bray air festival as the public toilets had a 30 minute line. Just to get screamed at by both the Italian male and female owners at the top of their lungs in front of the whole busy cafe, I’m 7 months pregnant and he shouted at the top of his lungs at me “shame on you for using your pregnancy as an EXCUSE” over and over. Such a horrible attitude, left me shook leaving. Please don’t support this place with such a degrading attitude towards pregnant women. For the uneducated owner: 1. Pregnancy isn’t an ‘excuse’ to use the toilet when in need 2. ⁠You should never scream in the face of a pregnant woman it’s very stressful for her and baby to handle

16/07/2025: Wonderful experience, that's the only place in Ireland where I drink coffee as a very good coffee fussy Italian, cheap coffee for Irish prices. Food made freshly from scratch daily including bread and focaccia dough, desserts freshly made from scratch daily, very fresh ingredients with plenty of Italian ingredients. The Italian owners working there make everything and serve both in English and in Italian, they are fantastic people, I always go here every week, super mega ultra recommended. Coffee and wine on sale.

10/07/2025: We had a lovely stay. The staff were great! We had dinner down at the bar (it was delicious!! I enjoyed a pub toastie and carrot & coconut soup) we enjoyed having a few drinks at the bar and meeting Alan. Alan was enjoyable to chat with. We really enjoyed our stay. Only recommendation would be fans available for warmer days. We are so use to air conditioning here in Florida…. A room without air conditioning is dreadful. Lucky for us Ireland evening weather is cooler…. So it wasn’t so bad at night but you guys have much longer summer evenings than we do here in Florida this time of year.

16/08/2025: Great food I had the stew which was amazing. Friends had steak and enjoyed them. Baileys cheesecake is good and I liked the Jelly with a flake. Staff is friendly and manager stops by to check on things.

16/08/2025: We went on a team night out and the place and atmosphere of this place is class. It might look very small at the outside but very big on the inside.Their servers was very approachable and accommodating as well. Food was ok for me. I would say my expectations were a little bit not met. For a 30-40 euro steak, I would have expected that the steak is at least seasoned which was not. The sharing platter as well was a little bit small for me. I expected at least a couple of meats and more cheese on a meat and cheese board but as you can see on the picture that’s their sharing board and you can see on the menu how much that is. My teammates enjoyed their veggie board and they were delighted with the taste. Their desert was great as well. Overall still a good experience. Just get your wallets ready as food can be pricey.

13/06/2025: My husband Kevin and I celebrated our wedding reception at Medley, Dublin this May and we truly couldn’t have imagined a better place to host the best day of our lives. As two proud Dubs, we always knew we wanted a city-centre wedding. We chose Smock Alley for our ceremony, and after a short (and very scenic!) 10-minute stroll, with a few stops at some of Dublin’s iconic pubs of course, our guests arrived at Medley for the reception. From our first visit right through to the final dance, the team at Medley, especially our coordinator Chris, went above and beyond. This type-A bride sent hundreds of emails and had a million little questions, and not once did I feel like anything was too much. They made everything feel effortless, personal, and seamless. We were after a vibe that was laid-back but beautiful, and a space where all generations, could feel relaxed and spoiled. Medley delivered all that and more. The food was a standout — not your standard wedding fare, but something genuinely special and delicious. No soup or meat-and-two-veg here (unless you want it, in which case they’d still nail it). We would recommend Medley a thousand times over. Every time we walk through Dublin city centre now, we get to pass by the place where we had one of the happiest days of our lives, and that still gives us a little buzz. I have no doubt we’ll be back again soon as guests, raising a glass to someone else’s big day.

12/08/2025: It was a rainy day, but we sat outside in what they call “the shed” — far nicer than the name suggests — and they kindly served us from the restaurant side. We shared a chicken burger that was absolutely fantastic (so glad they served it whole), and I also had vegetable soup with brown bread plus a few glasses of white wine. Cozy, friendly, and highly recommended.

24/05/2025: Based on the reviews we read, we decided to have lunch at Lava Rock Restaurant. Even before ordering, we found out that this outlet does NOT serve alcohol. A pity given the menu they feature. Anyway my wife ordered the Rigatoni Pasta and I took the Chicken Curry. Both dishes were simply excellent! We shared a raspberry cheese cake for dessert. Service was courteous and helpful! Krimo Birem our server even offered us to get us beer from the nearby pub!! Highly recommended!

26/07/2025: EDIT: this review is over 8 years old, Pablo picante is terrible now, overcooked rice portion size is smaller and they don’t take cash. The staff who used to work there were in the main Mexican, now it’s a bunch of Europeans. Very friendly europeans but Europeans that can’t cook. This place is now on par with boojum another great place that has lowered the quality of their product. Better off looking for authentic Mexican establishments. Old review: Great place great food and friendly staff...only downside is they close at 6 pm :( (Pablos tortas that is)

01/07/2025: We had an absolutely amazing dinner last night. We got the catch of the day and a couple other specials that they recommended. I highly recommend this place and it’s reasonably priced.

08/06/2025: Had the classic. Great home made sausage with just the right spices. Roll held together till the end. Onions and peppers were tender and fresh.

04/06/2025: Contained in the huge English Market SC ,this place stands out from all the other exceptional vendors. Just a small stall with usually only 3 workers, it can turn out food to die for. All sandwiches are make rite on the spot. You can customize or order any of the house specials. Grab a special, find a quiet spot, (not possible) and enjoy.

15/08/2025: Had a tasty lunch here today. Chicken Satay starter followed by a Chicken red curry. Finished off with a delicious Eton Mess. Superb. Nice surroundings and a lookout to the coast and the yatchs. Not too busy, food is great as is the service. No hard decisions about coming here again.
