28/10/2025: How did I get so lucky to choose Hugo's Restaurant purely by chance? I was looking for a place close to our hotel and landed here. What a phenomenal meal! I had the burrata & heirloom tomato starter while my husband opted for the crab with cucumber. Both were simply bursting with flavor - the burrata was creamy and the crab excruciatingly fresh. My husband had the braised shortrib main - oh, my sainted aunt, the complexity of the flavor of this deceptively simple dish was mind-blowing. I had the duck breast with figs & celeriac - again, perfection. We had a great deal of difficulty slowing down enough to savor each bite instead of the natural instinct to devour everything as quickly as possible. My pavlova dessert had lime crumbles, lemon curd, and blueberry sorbet, along with some fresh blueberries. My husband had the chocolate choux bun with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate. It was the night before we had to depart for home, and we couldn't have asked for a more outstanding experience. The host (Robert?) was totally adorable and helpful, and Gina, one of the owners, came over and chatted with us - I could have cheerfully stayed longer but I had to get back to pack my suitcase. In a word, this is one of the best restaurants we've ever dined at, including Paris and a 3-star restaurant in Rome. Simply amazing. Absolutely book a table for a meal you won't forget!

28/10/2025: Great friendly atmosphere. Quieter from the busy streets. The food was spot on and crafted to perfection. Brilliant breads and sauces. Good soup.

22/11/2025: Boris, the manager, and his team truly made our day! Their warm hospitality and excellent customer service made the entire experience enjoyable. The drinks were great, and the overall atmosphere was wonderful. Highly recommend this place!

20/11/2025: Loved it! The crab dish looked like a Pollock painting—abstract, colorful, and absolutely delicious. The tuna with ponzu sauce was hands-down my favorite. The service was great too, which made the whole experience even better. Already excited to go back, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something a little extra special. Even if is not a special occasion, it will turn into a special occasion :)

27/10/2025: We stumbled on this restaurant after not being able to get into a different one. It was a great find! The food was incredible, the staff was amazing, and they were extremely kid-friendly! They provided us with a great experience on a busy evening, getting us in quickly even though we did not have a reservation.

18/09/2025: The place is really nice and very pretty, on a perfect location very close to the castle. The waiter was very kind with us. The food was quite good, although the chips felt a little frozen and stale.

17/10/2025: Medley is a great place to hold a small corporate event, party or wedding. My company held a small event with around 120 employees and we really enjoyed it. Chris and Emma were great to work with and made sure everything was setup and that our team didn’t have to do much. The food was amazing as well! I would recommend them for your next event or party!

13/06/2025: My husband Kevin and I celebrated our wedding reception at Medley, Dublin this May and we truly couldn’t have imagined a better place to host the best day of our lives. As two proud Dubs, we always knew we wanted a city-centre wedding. We chose Smock Alley for our ceremony, and after a short (and very scenic!) 10-minute stroll, with a few stops at some of Dublin’s iconic pubs of course, our guests arrived at Medley for the reception. From our first visit right through to the final dance, the team at Medley, especially our coordinator Chris, went above and beyond. This type-A bride sent hundreds of emails and had a million little questions, and not once did I feel like anything was too much. They made everything feel effortless, personal, and seamless. We were after a vibe that was laid-back but beautiful, and a space where all generations, could feel relaxed and spoiled. Medley delivered all that and more. The food was a standout — not your standard wedding fare, but something genuinely special and delicious. No soup or meat-and-two-veg here (unless you want it, in which case they’d still nail it). We would recommend Medley a thousand times over. Every time we walk through Dublin city centre now, we get to pass by the place where we had one of the happiest days of our lives, and that still gives us a little buzz. I have no doubt we’ll be back again soon as guests, raising a glass to someone else’s big day.

04/06/2025: Contained in the huge English Market SC ,this place stands out from all the other exceptional vendors. Just a small stall with usually only 3 workers, it can turn out food to die for. All sandwiches are make rite on the spot. You can customize or order any of the house specials. Grab a special, find a quiet spot, (not possible) and enjoy.

27/09/2025: My husband and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal at Cullens, previously Cong’s theatee v The menu offered many delicious items to choose from. The onion soup was absolutely delightful, perfect balance of other vegetables along with the onions, which were the highlight. My husband enjoyed every bite of the duck conft salad. For the entrée, I enjoyed a very rich and tasty shrimp and lobster risotto. Scott was wowed by the sole which was deboned at our table. The servers were very friendly and shared the history of this venue. !Chapeau! Hats off to the chef! And staff.

17/09/2025: We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Marianna (hopefully I spelled that correctly) was amazing. She was our waitress and she made the best drinks + great conversation. I had the pasta with clams and mussels- amazing. My wife had the chkn. Everything was great, excellent and we had a great time. Dessert and the Irish coffee was excellent as well. Highly recommended. We stayed at the lodge.

10/11/2025: I felt really uncomfortable with the service today. When other tables were served, the staff brought the dishes directly. But when our Tom Yum soup was ready, a woman with straight bangs from the kitchen pointed at our table and told another waitress to serve it, while looking straight toward us. When I looked up, she was still pointing — it felt disrespectful and impolite, and made me very uneasy. This review is just to share my experience. No need to reply. I don’t want any explanation or follow-up — just feedback for improvement. ———————— I’ve seen the restaurant’s reply. This platform doesn’t allow me to reply directly to the restaurant’s response, so I’m leaving a short follow-up here. I understand that you were guiding a new staff member and making sure the dishes went to the right table. However, what made me uncomfortable was that even after our eyes met, she continued to point directly at our (face) — that felt impolite and unnecessary. What bothered me more was that I looked around and noticed that no other guests were being pointed at like that. It only happened to us, and I just felt quite unlucky and awkward in that moment. If you put yourself in a guest’s position, you would probably feel uncomfortable too. That’s all I wanted to clarify. Please don’t reply further — I appreciate your understanding, and there’s no need for more messages.
