23/12/2024: We went for food and cocktails with a group of friends. The bar staff - James and Darren- were very welcoming and had great experience and recommendations for lovely cocktails! The kitchen staff were very generous and delivered flavoursome, beautifully presented, delicious food! The nachos and beetroot were perfect for a snack with drinks! The staff made the experience unforgettable, highly recommend! 10/10

19/11/2024: Visited this bar with a friend and her pet dog. Staff member was very friendly and gave us bowl of water for dog. The atmosphere was quiet and cosy, with music playing in background. Ordered the buffalo burger, very tasty, plenty of buffalo sauce and piping hot. Friendly also got small bowl of plain chicken for her dog. I would recommend this bar for dog owners.

25/01/2025: We stopped in for lunch today after visiting the vinyl and cd fair. Food was excellent and well priced kids had the pizzas and were a happy, the BLT was lovely and came with house chunky chips... service was excellent and staff were friendly.

18/02/2025: Great place for a drink. The owner is a fountain of knowledge on the history of Kilkenny and regaled us with stories of ancient Ireland. Well worth a visit if you re in Kilkenny.
26/11/2024: Great little spot with great people. Bar is tiny, but great folks that were fun to hang with. Nice outdoor area. Owner was quirky, but great.
FYI, This bar only accepted cash.

16/02/2025: Not happy with the room there was a smell from it
16/02/2025: Went for birthday treat booked room with balcony and castle view. Half the day is gone, waiting for checking in. Then, to check into a room costing 260, that was absolutely basic, no hest, some mould in bathrooms, I did try my phone, but no phone worked or had a line , room was near a air vent made nose for the trip. Never again, 260 was not worth it. Did get lunch was nice. Left hair straighteners by TV wrapped in lead, but when I phones hotel they said no sign of it. Couldn't get room service and was told the kitchen closed 8.30 even asked any bar restaurant nope kitchen closed, yet served food till 9 heard next day. Was very disappointed with over stay as 260 for a super cold room with no services. Never again .

28/01/2025: Across from Kilkenny Castle just over the bridge. Daily 10 specials for 10 euros for dinner. A la carte too. Music at the weekends. Nice friendly lady served us.

15/12/2024: Cenar aquí con bastante frecuencia y tengo que dárselo a la dirección y al personal trabajador del Marble City Bar. La comida siempre es deliciosa y fresca😋. Así que saludos a sus chefs. El personal va más allá para que su visita sea memorable ☝️. Me encanta el ambiente allí.
18/09/2024: Ci avevano consigliato questo ristorantino su una delle strade principali della città ma a noi non è piaciuto nè per il servizio, poco cortese (tra l'altro ci hanno dato un tavolo piccolissimo per noi) , nè per il cibo (carne arrostita) e per il rapporto qualità-prezzo

17/11/2024: Broke window couldn't close, stains on bedsheets. Not contactable when booking.com tried to get refund, I'll take photos down when I get my money back.
29/10/2024: Avoid this place at all costs. The rooms look nothing like the website. The smelt of stale food and damp.
We booked 2 rooms for 5 people, stained mattresses, duvets, and pillows.
Showers had little or no hot water, and the pressure was very poor.
There was no heating in the place. No one at reception to complain to.
Doors are all operated by an app that has to be downloaded to your phone. There is no emergency contact if you have problems with the app.
Booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one.
The only good thing about the place is its location - its right in the centre of town.
Would not recommend this place at all

10/07/2024: Overall not satisfying experience. Food was dissapointing and bland. Definitely not recommended. Atmosphere was rude and unfriendly.
10/07/2024: Low-quality food for the price, unfriendly atmosphere, didn't feel very hygienic, disappointed with this place, would not recommend since there are so many places that are actually friendly and delicious to eat/drink in Kilkenny.

16/11/2024: Siendo mi marido un Hackett, este fue su punto de la lista de deseos del año. ¡Créeme que conocer a Tommy y John fue una alegría absoluta! Tommy invitó a James detrás de la barra y le enseñó a servir un Guinness adecuado. Gracias a Tommy y John por hacer de nuestro viaje a través del charco un sueño real hecho realidad
