01/02/2025: I was at Flanagan,s on the lake today for lunch and on a date. I was very impressed with the service I received and the Beef burger was fantastic 😋 and my date had a stake and it looked very good. We had a dessert 🍨 as well I had the cheese cake and it was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful

26/01/2025: Booked table for 6 people for 25th January to celebrate my son's 30th birthday. Two cars travelled 45 minutes to Ballina. Stopped a fella on the bridge to ask directions to Flanagans, he said its closed not even a light on there. I said not at all I have a reservation. He said well my brother in law is the Manager there and it's definitely closed. Went to restaurant and yes closed up! A simple 3 minute phone call to say sorry but we are closed on Saturday. 6 very hungry people had to drive to Nenagh to try and find somewhere we could get some food. I will say we had no signal in Ballina to phone the restaurant but 5 minutes out the road there was a signal so no excuse why they could not have told us they were closed. Absolutely disgraceful.

01/01/2025: Disaster!! Went there with family to ring in the New Year where supposedly we were to be entertained with love music. After spending 69€ per head in the restaurant, we were then told at 11pm that the music was cancelled. If we had known, we would have gone elsewhere.

29/11/2024: Beautiful hotel, nice staff, nice food and very warm welcome when we were down for breakfast by a lovely young lady called Sarah😊 The rooms are just beautiful, only down side was the wifi not working properly in the building facing the lake, something that should be looked at as we are paying extra for the superior rooms!

03/01/2025: Beautiful spot for food. We got a table beside the stove and it was super comfy. Service was fantastic for a party of 6.

01/01/2025: Had a meal here with friends just before Christmas, when we arrived, the person that booked the table spoke with a young girl with a pony tail, who bascily was very smart with our friend by stating we were late by 2 hrs for our table which was totally inaccurate. We were not impressed by this welcome, nor did she apologise over her comment. The food was excellent but was extremely slow. We had to wait 45 minutes to get our mains, which is not good. It is also advisable that the table servers need to be trained on how to serve a tables, before some of us were finished, the servers were clearing the plates, which made us feel uncomfortable and rushed. I thought it was down to the young server who hadn't a clue, but I overheard a conversation with the same girl at the reception given orders to the table servers to remove plates straight away. So this person is not suitable front of house, as it ruined our experience to what could have being a good night with good food. Another problem we had, we had booked a table booth, which was nice, but the restaurant bar is very noisey, and with the young lads behind the bar rattling, the cocktail makers made the noise in tolerable. I would suggest noise proofing the area with wall or ceiling buffers, as the noise is very strong.
