01/06/2025: I’ve never written a review like this before, but our experience at Lakeside Hotel Killaloe was truly appalling. We walked into the restaurant looking forward to a pleasant meal by the lake, but from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely unwelcome. My husband stood at the reception waiting to be seated. The host clearly saw us, made eye contact, and yet chose to completely ignore us – no greeting, no smile, not even the courtesy of saying, “I’ll be with you in a moment.” As we stood there awkwardly, another server walked past. My husband politely asked if we could have a table for three. The server didn’t even stop, didn’t acknowledge us, and didn’t say a single word. No smile. No eye contact. Just silence. It was as if we were invisible. We weren’t being difficult, loud, or demanding – just a family hoping for a meal and a bit of hospitality. What we got instead was cold, dismissive treatment that made us feel like an inconvenience rather than paying guests. We eventually walked out. If basic courtesy is too much to expect from the staff, then clearly this hotel doesn’t care about customer experience. A beautiful location means nothing when the people representing it are this indifferent and rude. Deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone who expects to be treated with even a shred of respect

25/06/2025: Never in my 52 years on this planet have I ever experienced a genuine traditional Irish pub with fabulous musician for a trad session on Tuesday night. From the owner to the whiskey drinking bar man and musicians. Love you all. Had the time of my life. Thanks Sarah for the lift home... Gerard & Jenny.

13/07/2025: Staff have a lot to learn in terms of customer service . Also cleanliness of the glasses and cutlery left alot to be desired. I picked up 5 glasses before I got one that was reasonable clean. I opted to drink from the bottle instead. Cutlery was wet or had water marks on it and hadn't been polished. These are basic things. Food was OK but its just microwavable food.

04/08/2025: Brilliant food and service today as usual. Portions are always very good and prices are standard. Always busy and despite this, you’re always served quickly. We had Sarah as our server and she was great. Fish dishes were unreal esp the tartar sauce and portions. I’ve also had the vegitarian pasta and pizzas before which are great too. Thanks :)

27/07/2025: Never been treated so badly in life in a restaurant when trying to go out today for lunch. I went there with my girlfriend and waited to be seated. The manager gave aggressive remarks and rude behavior. They made us feel alienated there today and this is the second occasion this has happened. The food service manager is arrogant and ignorant! We left eventually when we realised we were not welcome I treat everyone with respect. I hope one day you can find humbleness and I will not be back here. Congratulations
