02/09/2025: Small neighborhood pub where we saw a lot of locals dine in for lunch. Lovely community vibe with very friendly staff. Great choice for those who want an anti-tourist trap, authentic irish lunch spot. Great pints and the open beef sandwich was tasty with very soft meat.

18/08/2025: We stopped in for a quick snack. The wrap was delicious, the service friendly, and the ambiance pleasant. There's outdoor seating in the back.

10/07/2025: Very good pizza with range of good ingredients & toppings. Proper wood fired pizza. Nice people running it. Van is in a little car park off the main road. Walking distance to the castle & park if you want to eat it there.

11/08/2025: I’ll start with the good: Staff were lovely; I suspect it’s a good job to have in an obviously depressed area. The breakfast was nice.
Now the ugly: Water from the taps isn’t potable. The hotel has a beer garden that is in full party mode until the early morn, and it’s right outside your hotel window…, JOY!!! The night we stayed, the fire alarm sounded in the room for about 30 seconds. No follow up from staff. Sleep ruined.
Awful experience! Expensive! Flat out NOT worth the cost.

03/09/2025: We had hot matcha lattes and chai lattes, along with a pistachio raspberry cake and a ham toasty. Everything was absolutely delicious! The prices were very reasonable, and overall it was such a great experience. You won’t be disappointed.
19/08/2025: Two of us left our drinks because the milk tasted off and then a few hours later were violently ill.
Toilets weren’t clean
Atmosphere was dark and unwelcoming

21/08/2025: The driver didn’t check our details, didn’t even say hello, he handed us our food and left. So rude… it was like a horror scene when we received our food. The bag was smothered in oil… and was soggy. We opened the bag and our food looked like it has been eaten. IT HAS BEEN EATEN BY the driver or soemthing… I will be complaining to the HSE. I am NOT coming back EVER AGAIN. if only I could show you the photos…the delivery was 10€… we only ordered a burger and taco chips.

The place doesn’t even look clean!
There’s practically one person running the joint which looks to be a small Asian girl making everything herself , props to her.
13/08/2025: The River House Cafe – €15.95 for a so-called “full Irish” with no beans, no mushrooms, and pudding slices so thin they could have been cut on a microtome. My daughter ordered a €4.95 peach iced tea after seeing the beautiful picture of one on the wall — lemon garnish and all — only to be handed a plain bottle of Lipton iced tea with zero garnish.
The server was lovely (if slightly embarrassed, in my opinion), but the experience overall had negative value for money. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. This place has genuine 5-star potential, but it feels like greed has taken the wheel.
