17/10/2025: I used to come here with my grandmother as a child so it was important I revisited here. The layout seems different to when I was young but the food tasted the same 😅 the food was good, the service was great and atmosphere here was mellow. Got talking to some locals while having dinner, important I went back to visit one of the first strong women in my life.

18/09/2025: The place is really nice and very pretty, on a perfect location very close to the castle. The waiter was very kind with us.
The food was quite good, although the chips felt a little frozen and stale.

14/10/2025: Lovely hotel, centrally located. Staff were very friendly & helpful.
As it's in the centre of the town can be a bit noisy in the rooms with the windows open. This didn't take from the overall appeal of the hotel.
Cahir is a lovely town with some lovely walks by the river & the castle, the Swiss House is worth a visit too
13/10/2025: Great place to stay. Was a late minute decision stay there as we were heading to Cork from louth. Glad we did. The food was first class and the staff were all extremely helpful and nice. Definitely stay again.

The Lazy Bean Café @The Heritage

17/09/2025: If you walk up to the main square from the castle (You can do it!), you'll find MUCH cheaper (and probably better) sandwiches than close to the castle. We got the brie panini and the chicken pesto panini; both excellent. Price was also excellent. Service was quick and so friendly!
14/08/2025: Excellent coffee with lively cakes etc but the gluten free was underneath the glutenated food uncovered and I protected. Contamination was very likely. I am sorry and look forward to upgrading this review soon.

02/11/2025: Nice coffee shop with surprisingly good coffee and a lovely selection of herbal teas. The girl at the counter was very sweet and friendly.
02/11/2025: stopped here with 2 adults and 5 kids to buy them treats after a walk kids where very well behaved for 5 small kids never once left there seats to be told by staff to keep control of them and when we brought attention to the owner we where told the kids where kicking a ball around which was 100% false very upsetting experience

21/08/2025: The driver didn’t check our details, didn’t even say hello, he handed us our food and left. So rude… it was like a horror scene when we received our food. The bag was smothered in oil… and was soggy. We opened the bag and our food looked like it has been eaten. IT HAS BEEN EATEN BY the driver or soemthing… I will be complaining to the HSE. I am NOT coming back EVER AGAIN. if only I could show you the photos…the delivery was 10€… we only ordered a burger and taco chips.

30/09/2025: Came here today, merely because no where else in Cahir is serving food with the option to sit indoors right now. Greeted politely by a woman at the deli counter who was very nice. Overall service was good, although very loud talking to each other and shouting my friend and I’s ordered out loud despite the place being mostly empty.
The food however, I paid €22 for a hot chocolate, 200ml bottle of apple juice, 7 chips in a tiny bowl you’d use for salsa dressing and a “sweet chilli chicken wrap” which tasted like it was made from packaged chicken slices and greasy cheese that wasn’t melting, also felt like it was microwaved instead of toasted because it was soggy and not crunchy.
I won’t be coming back, for the price it’s ridiculous, The girls were lovely so i feel bad but it’s clearly aimed to overcharge americans/ tourists and not a place locals can get a nice filling lunch for a good price.
28/09/2025: Sandwiches rip off. I ordered a chicken Tikka and coleslaw sandwich on sliced pan brown bread to take away and astonishingly charged €8.95.
If it had been nice homemade brown bread maybe worth it and as it happened very little tikka spice flavour more overkill with the mayonnaise. Totally overpriced.

10/07/2025: Very good pizza with range of good ingredients & toppings. Proper wood fired pizza. Nice people running it. Van is in a little car park off the main road. Walking distance to the castle & park if you want to eat it there.
