I'm new to Cork, Clonakilty and Ireland in general and was denied entry simply because I was alone.
Although I've never been in.... I'll certainly never be back.
Head to GG's instead!
These guys are funny as hell saying they were closing at 21:00. Lots of lads had said the "security" staff packing roofies. Didn't believe it until that night.

14/10/2025: Had breakfast here this morning for the first time and it won't be the last, absolutely gorgeous food cooked to perfection and the lady that was serving was so welcoming and attentive, lovely cozy atmosphere too and to top it all off we had the pleasure of meeting the resident dog who we were told was rescued 15 years ago and is definitely living his best life now. Great spot to go if you are ever in clon we will definitely be back.

Once great, now mediocre at best. Such a shame!

28/09/2025: Absolutely fantastic experience at Jilly & Joe’s Ice Cream Parlour! The service was top-notch. The ice cream was delicious and such a great price! A special shoutout to Raj who was absolutely amazing. He was extremely kind and helpful. Made our visit extra special. Highly recommend!
27/09/2025: Very good variety of foods, good value and tasty food except for their toasted sandwiches. The carvery dinners are huge, the fish and chips, burger, chicken goujons and chips and pizza are all tasty and good value. The BLT was the worst sandwich I've ever paid money for: 2 thin slices of tomato, 2 small lettuce leaves and 2 really thin slices of bacon for the whole sandwich, the small portion of soup for an additional €2.50 had more substance.

08/06/2025: Had the classic. Great home made sausage with just the right spices. Roll held together till the end. Onions and peppers were tender and fresh.
04/06/2025: Contained in the huge English Market SC ,this place stands out from all the other exceptional vendors. Just a small stall with usually only 3 workers, it can turn out food to die for. All sandwiches are make rite on the spot. You can customize or order any of the house specials. Grab a special, find a quiet spot, (not possible) and enjoy.

Chicken wings starter big portion with a sweet taste
Steak sandwich for main was cooked to perfection - steak just pulled apart and the ciabatta was crispy
Steak with chips for main was also perfectly cooked
Snickers cheesecake was unique
Baked Alaska was perfectly done with ice cream and tangy fruit in the centre
Wait staff were friendly especially the man who waited our table

29/08/2025: Came to clonakilty camping and ate out twice before we discovered Whales Tail OMG it’s worth travelling here just to eat the food the other time atmosphere the setting indoors and outside is just amazing Irene was in total control and with such a pleasant attitude to customers and staff ensuring both guests and staff enjoyed being there Billy in the kitchen ensured exceptional service and an interesting menu full of variations for us to enjoy We came once and returned the following night before we went home we can’t recommend enough if you’re in Clonakilty don’t miss out on a wonderful experience
