27/09/2024: The cakes were excellent, and the tea comes in proper china cups. Elvis was playing quietly on a proper record player. Superb!

05/01/2025: Myself and my rain soaked family rocked up to Scannells yesterday in the hopes of getting a table. It was a full house and the lovely man on the door offered to take my number and call when there was a table. We were just passing through Clonakilty so couldn’t hang around. The fantastic man took pity on us and sat us at the bar till there was a table ready. We had a drink and then we were seated next to a lovely stove to dry off. Our food arrived and was devoured by everyone. There’s no doubt why this lovely pub is so popular. Another reason to love Clonakilty

15/10/2024: Scannell's is an absolute gem. Wide choice of really tasty, well prepared food, friendly efficient staff. The place is really well run. I highly recommend and no doubt they will see me yet again.

21/01/2025: Amazing atmospheric pub, brilliant traditional Irish folk music but the most hostile reception you have ever had. As English people, we were looked at like we had 3 heads and felt incredibly unwelcome with people within the bar staring at us. Also, talking about us and ssshing because talking about us (and English people in general) "would affect money coming into the country"

20/11/2024: Had lunch here today. Absolutely delicious. I'm dairy free, yet they made a lovely Hawaiian Pizza with no cheese. Wouldn't even miss it. I'd a lo Ely hot chocolate made with Oat milk and look how it was presented. A lovely treat. My friend , she's Gluten Free, she had a fabulous fully loaded beef burger with gluten free bread. We will definitely be back.

30/10/2024: Just left after a fabulous meal. Two adults and two children - chowder was beautiful and full of flavour, tempura prawn and chips was delicious and the kids shared napolenta pasta and garlic bread. Highly recommend! Service was excellent and very friendly staff. Will definitely visit again if we come back to clonakilty!

07/12/2024: Facilitated family 30th birthday and nothing was a problem. Service was great, as usual, food again as always was brilliant. Would recommend for any occasion. Price extremely reasonable for a party of 7 adults and 1.5 children for food and drinks/alcoholic drinks.

03/01/2025: What a beautiful hotel like home from home with beautiful features and the personal touch and manners from the staff makes it so warm and welcoming this is a place I can't wait to see again I highly recommend here and definitely be back it also in the centre of the town close to everything..also loved the fact breakfast was served till 11 as last thing you want on a break awak is time limit this in itself was excellent 100% all round and the staff are amazing

26/10/2024: We travelled all the way from Thurles to spend the night in clonakilty and it didn't disappoint. Very cozy and a lovely spot and the staff are so friendly and welcoming ❤️🍻

29/08/2024: Delightful stop in a funky little bar tripped out in rock and roll posters of some of the best bands and artists over the past few decades. It’s small with bar seating, just a few tables inside, and more outdoor patio seating. One of the best ciders we had the whole trip they get from a brewery that only makes 80 cases a year. They have whisky from the local distillery, and had a nearby business bring in charcuterie and fruit snacks that look like mini bouquets if you need a tiny munch while you sip your pints.

20/09/2024: Lovely little bar with traditional music pretty much daily. Was here on a previous trip to Ireland, made sure to return. Very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Also, there's a public free parking lot super close; that was a nice surprise.

20/07/2024: Lovely pub my husband and I visited on July 8th..Dan O Sullivan was brillant with his Makem and Clancy songs ..Will be back for sure

07/12/2024: Cracking pint of Murphy's. Good spot to watch any sport on TVs too. Outside area heated and spacious.

10/07/2024: Went for a pint here last night. A proper traditional pub. If I was to explain the perfect traditional Irish pub, this would be it. I can’t wait until the next time I come back down to spend more time here
