Church Restaurant

Skibbereen
04/09/2025: We arrived with a large group from a bridal party. Bride and Groom with 10 guests. We told the host we wanted drinks and dessert. They seated us and after we ordered drinks the owner approached the table and told us we could not only order drinks and dessert we would have to order lunch otherwise we would have to leave. It was mortifying to be asked to leave after seating us. This establishment missed out on quick and crazy large bill. Very bad decision.
03/09/2025: I got the chicken burger and the sticky toffee pudding and it was really nice. Generous portions Dario points- 7/10 (chicken and ham) Alex points-7/10 (beef stir fry) Kat points- 7.5/10 (chicken burger)

Field's SuperValu Skibbereen

Skibbereen
03/09/2025: A quite superb Supervalu. The staff are well trained and always cheerful!
29/08/2025: Fields have put a lot of money bringing their shop up to the standards of the 21st century. Unfortunately, they didn't use the opportunity to bring the standards of their toilets up too. No wheelchair accessible toilets. No excuse in this day and age especially as they are running an in-house cafe. The cafe leaves a lot to be desired. The coffee is awful, food is mediocre and the tables not very clean. UPDATE Fields had a single bathroom downstairs which they had allocated to the elderly. However, they have since taken down that sign and replaced it with a free for all. There is no sign to tell able-bodied customers to use the ample toilet facilities upstairs. Now there is often a queue for their single toilet downstairs. Had they put any thought into the design or had any consideration for the disabled they could have easily made the downstairs wheelchair-friendly and solved a number of issues. They do advertise that their car park has wheelchair accessible spaces. There are not enough of these and cars and delivery lorrie’s are constantly blocking the ramps. Wake up Fields!!

West Cork Hotel

Skibbereen
03/10/2025: Nice stay in old hotel, very friendly & helpful staff
01/08/2025: we had an outstanding weekend stay over at the West Cork Hotel. It had been 10 years since our last visit and it was even more charming than before. Tremendous service, a great Irish breakfast in the morning and a wonderful location combined with an extremely attentive and responsive staff contributed to an outstanding experience! I highly recommend the West Cork Hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting one of the most enjoyable parts of Ireland.

The Corner Bar

Skibbereen
15/06/2025: Great pub, large with plenty of different areas, old school and traditional. The owner William was absolutely lovely, loved having the chats and gave us plenty of information on the area and the farmers market , which is on every Saturday in the town and well worth a visit.

Geralds Delicatessan & Restaurant

Skibbereen
29/08/2025: The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The food is delicious, I’ve had my daily sausage roll with marmalade and it doesn’t disappoint! Various varieties. More seating would be nice, but no t a deal breaker.
27/08/2025: Best matcha I've had in Dublin (and I have had a lot of matcha :)). It's so sweet! Lovely with oat milk. Staff super friendly and attentive also.

Annie Mays Bar

Skibbereen
25/08/2025: Great service as always, food is fabulous, well worth a vist. (not just pub grub, it's restaurant quality), not local but been coming here for nearly 20 years when west along, its always a good place top stop
10/08/2025: Make sure when you book for dinner that you check they have written it down in the book. We showed up with a big party - having booked a month in advance - and were turned away with the implication that we had made it up. No apology - somewhat lacking in people skills.

Riverside Cafe

Skibbereen
11/09/2025: A nice cafe, the menu looked good and the food was tasty. Sadly, the portions we had for lunch were really very small and we both left still feeling hungry. It was expensive and just didn’t feel like value for money, due to portion size.
08/08/2025: Vegan options available: we had a delicious toastie and sweet potato patty
