JC's Takeaway
Skibbereen
27/12/2025: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I visited JC Fish & Chips takeaway in West Cork and the food was incredibly delicious. I had the fish of the day with chips and an apple juice. Everything was very fresh, high quality, and perfectly cooked. The price was very reasonable for such great food. I’ll definitely be back—highly recommend!

An Chistin Beag
Skibbereen
05/12/2025: Beautiful breakfast there this morning. Would definitely recommend.
02/12/2025: We absolutely loved having breakfast here!
The staff were so friendly and always smiling!
We wanted to try the famous Irish Breakfast, which was incredible—so delicious!
Our children had the French toast with Nutella and banana, which was also excellent! They also had tea, coffee, milk, apple juice, orange juice, and hot chocolate with marshmallows.
A fantastic place, we highly recommend it!

Field's SuperValu Skibbereen
Skibbereen
03/09/2025: A quite superb Supervalu.
The staff are well trained and always cheerful!
29/08/2025: Fields have put a lot of money bringing their shop up to the standards of the 21st century. Unfortunately, they didn't use the opportunity to bring the standards of their toilets up too. No wheelchair accessible toilets. No excuse in this day and age especially as they are running an in-house cafe.
The cafe leaves a lot to be desired. The coffee is awful, food is mediocre and the tables not very clean.
UPDATE
Fields had a single bathroom downstairs which they had allocated to the elderly. However, they have since taken down that sign and replaced it with a free for all. There is no sign to tell able-bodied customers to use the ample toilet facilities upstairs. Now there is often a queue for their single toilet downstairs. Had they put any thought into the design or had any consideration for the disabled they could have easily made the downstairs wheelchair-friendly and solved a number of issues. They do advertise that their car park has wheelchair accessible spaces. There are not enough of these and cars and delivery lorrie’s are constantly blocking the ramps. Wake up Fields!!

Applebettys Cafe
Skibbereen
29/10/2025: Staff were lovely and it was clean.
Food was very basic. It’s says the sandwiches etc come with tortilla chips-there was 3 on the side of the plate. Side salad was very fresh though. The bagel I ordered was missing toppings and was 80% relish with a small amount of goats cheese. Grand if you just want something very basic and quick.
29/10/2025: A very cozy cafe, I really liked the food, the sandwich was not dry, lots of cheese, very clean, the staff is top notch, polite and friendly, the food is the best.

The Corner Bar
Skibbereen
15/06/2025: Great pub, large with plenty of different areas, old school and traditional. The owner William was absolutely lovely, loved having the chats and gave us plenty of information on the area and the farmers market , which is on every Saturday in the town and well worth a visit.

Annie Mays Bar
Skibbereen
18/12/2025: Came in late after a long day of travelling and arrived in near closing time. They were very accommodating to me and my partner, we had accommodation already sorted elsewhere but we had some food here and it was deadly. Owners very friendly and recommend us sights to see. Will be back when we visit skibbereen again.
25/08/2025: Great service as always, food is fabulous, well worth a vist. (not just pub grub, it's restaurant quality), not local but been coming here for nearly 20 years when west along, its always a good place top stop

Riverside Cafe
Skibbereen
11/09/2025: A nice cafe, the menu looked good and the food was tasty. Sadly, the portions we had for lunch were really very small and we both left still feeling hungry. It was expensive and just didn’t feel like value for money, due to portion size.
08/08/2025: Vegan options available: we had a delicious toastie and sweet potato patty

Antiquity Bookshop Trattoria
Skibbereen
12/09/2025: Welcoming staff, delicious vegan fare, and a wide range of books available to peruse - from gently used all the way to rare/signed/first editions. They have a variety of weekly events posted around the shop, along with reminders to put your phone away so you can absorb the peaceful atmosphere. Will definitely return to this sweet, thoughtfully considered space!

Also contains information on the nature reserve, as well as a decent gift shop.

Geralds Delicatessan & Restaurant
Skibbereen
29/08/2025: The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The food is delicious, I’ve had my daily sausage roll with marmalade and it doesn’t disappoint! Various varieties.
More seating would be nice, but no
t a deal breaker.
27/08/2025: Best matcha I've had in Dublin (and I have had a lot of matcha :)). It's so sweet! Lovely with oat milk. Staff super friendly and attentive also.
