The best restaurants in Killybegs

01/11/2024: Been a few times over the years which have been fantastic. However this time wasn't great since they moved location. Chips clearly frozen, fish ok but scamp was tough. Not sure what happened this time

29/10/2024: Very disappointed after hearing all the hype about this place, fish and chips were not great batter not nice ,scampi was the worst I've ever had in my life ,only ate two pieces as it was like chewing rubber it was completely disgusting and was clearly overlooked .Won't be trying again.

11/01/2025: We stopped off for lunch and had the curry sauce and chips. Omg,they were delicious. The best we have ever had,and comimg from England we were outstanded! The cappuccinos were delicious too. But the "piste la resistance"were the cakes. Chocolate brownie and sticky toffee, which came with ice cream and cream. Jeez they were absolutely delicious,sooooon scummy. Thank you.

01/01/2025: The food was really good and they have a bunch of friendly staff. It has got a decent decor inside. You will also have a excellent view of the sea right opposite to it. We went in on a Sunday and it still managed to attract a good number of of customers as soon as the restaurant was open. It has also got a few parking spots available. We loved our overall experience there and we would definitely recommend them.

16/10/2024: Very nice little cafe. Large selection of delicious cakes. Super friendly!

03/10/2024: Popped in for a quick lunch and coffee on our travels. Served quickly, everything tasted great and was at a reasonable price too

There, you can indulge in a perfectly crafted, creamy pint of Guinness, all while enjoying the warm hospitality of our friendly and attentive staff. It's the ideal spot to relax and soak in the local atmosphere.

18/01/2025: The Tara Hotel is undergoing a full upgrade. The bar is finished and is the focal point for guests and locals, too.

01/01/2025: Just stopped here for a quick drink , lovely view over the harbour, good atmosphere 😁

10/02/2025: We love this place, it is THE PLACE to stay in Killybegs and we have stayed here three times now. The owners are incredibly friendly, generous, and accommodating—I won't go into how we found this out, but suffice it to say it rekindled our belief in human kindness and the generosity of the Donegal people in general. Super central location adjacent to the scenic port and great food both in the Fleet Inn itself and from The Boathouse (and sibling business The Fish Shack) next door. Personally, I think the Fleet Inn's chowder is a little more sophisticated than The Boathouse's! There's a pub/restaurant area on the ground floor where you can obtain the aforementioned chowder, other dishes from the sea and the land, plus all manner of beverages and it is a popular place with locals, and with the mariners when they are in port. Across the road is the excellent Wild Atlantic Crafts which showcases the work of local arts and crafts people.

09/02/2025: We spent a lovely evening at the bar with live music and darts on the many televisions. Would love to come back.
