05/09/2025: Had the chowder, and it was sooo good. The new space is perfect with a seated area. We got to enjoy it briefly before the dog (who was also welcomed to the space) made it clear, it was time to go. 🔊🐶.

03/09/2025: Bit late to review as it was nearly 2 weeks ago we ate here but really wanted to give this place the review it deserves! It was outstanding, one of the best meals I have had in very long time. One that will be listed to friends as top five meals every had.
27/08/2025: The best seafood chouder I've ever tried (it would be a 5). The main courses were very modest, to be honest, and the price of the main courses is too high for what they are.
They have very good live music.
The service is a bit slow.
We paid €120 for two people.

09/09/2025: This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever visited. The accommodation is modern and very well maintained by a friendly staff. You've excellent views of the sea from your room or as you sip coffee and if you go to the Pier bar beneath the dining room/ lounge you will be pleasantly surprised with a fantastic collection of various items, books, clocks and all things entertaining to the eye. The 'fish tanks' in the main hotel bar are worth seeing but don't miss the Pier bar.

19/07/2025: Came for dinner, food was hearty and the ambiance of the pub was lovely. There was live music after 9pm on Friday evenings but we just missed it.
16/07/2025: Great ,friendly service even though understaffed. Beautiful fish n chips with the best herby peas &homemade Tangy tartare sauce.. Will definitely be back. You should check it out! 5stars!

26/07/2025: I’m a chef, and I rarely leave reviews because I’m hard to impress. I don’t even bother when things are bad. But this place… wow. I had the hot and sour soup, and it literally changed my mood for the better. Bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced, and shockingly affordable for a seafood soup. I’m writing this as I wait for the seabass because I’m confident it will be just as amazing. If the main course matches this start, this might become one of my favorite spots.

23/04/2025: Nice decor, passable food, subpar service. Doesn't add up to justify the hefty price tag. Thinks it’s more than it is. Disappointing experience overall.
04/04/2025: Passing through Killybegs one evening, we called in to Tara Hotel restaurant for an evening meal. The staff were excellent , the premises were recently revamped to a high standard. The food was excellent with large portions and we would certainly recommend this venue.
