03/12/2024: Without a doubt the best restaurant in Killybegs! One of the best meals I’ve ever had and service outstanding.
I had the scallops to start, followed by hake. It couldn’t have been fresher.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for all fish and seafood lovers, it is well worth travelling there for an amazing meal. The menu also has plenty of variety if fish is not your top option.
Thanks to all the staff for the most memorable evening, we’ll be back!
04/11/2024: I booked a table for my husbands birthday we arrived only to find that I had booked the wrong date. The restaurant was booked for a private event, however the manager seeing my distress said just hold on!! They found a table for us, we had the most fabulous evening the food was amazing, the staff were fabulous and couldn’t do enough for us. The owner came down and chatted to us making sure that our night was special. Folks a local business with the most amazing food and wine and value for money. Check it out you won’t be disappointed. 5 star xx

01/11/2024: Been a few times over the years which have been fantastic. However this time wasn't great since they moved location. Chips clearly frozen, fish ok but scamp was tough. Not sure what happened this time
29/10/2024: Very disappointed after hearing all the hype about this place, fish and chips were not great batter not nice ,scampi was the worst I've ever had in my life ,only ate two pieces as it was like chewing rubber it was completely disgusting and was clearly overlooked .Won't be trying again.

02/11/2024: Scenic spot to stop for lunch, the restaurant is busy with lots of orders going on at lunch hour. We had the prawn and crab claws and the crab and prawn cakes, both of which were delicious. The service was friendly and efficient.

The Fleet Inn Guesthouse & Restaurant

13/12/2024: Stayed for a night after visiting Slieve League. Food was great and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Location is very convenient and close to some cafes and shopping. Great value for the money. Stairs may be difficult for people with mobility challenges but they are very upfront about this when booking. Would gladly stay again.
09/12/2024: Uncooperative Manager, bar staff were friendly but inexperienced with big crowds. Very rude locals (nothing to do with the bar itself) but we received some nasty comments from local men at the bar. Will not be back.

17/11/2024: Me and my partner came here after a lovely day out. Fiona served us and her service was exceptional. She made great recommendations, was very accommodating and friendly. Great service all round. Will definitely be back soon.
The fish pie was on point 👉
12/11/2024: Popped in for a quick lunch. Very friendly staff and prompt service. Had a lovely view over the harbour for lunch.

30/07/2024: This place was so disappointing , It took a hour and 20 minutes for only two 4 in 1 to come after asking multiple times . Staff was very rude to us when we asked how long more . Chips and chicken were over cooked and removed prawn crackers .

18/09/2024: Been a few time in the Tara Hotel Resturant but the last time for lunch with my wife,the lunch was very poor.I had a fish pie which was almost devoid of any fish,in fact it was probably the remnants of chowder with a 2 1/2 inch topping of cheesy mash minus the cheese .My wife had a open prawn sandwich which consisted of prawn Marie rose with little to no sauce and pretty tired looking salad. To round it off we got a portion of chips which numbered about12 chips for the bargain price of €5.Wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat here,just about anywhere else in Donegal is better than this place,standard of cooking is shocking
06/09/2024: I used to eat here whenever I am in Donegal. It used to be really good food. Unfortunately things have changed. I was in recently for dinner. I ordered a salad. The leaves were rotten and slimy. What was delivered to the table was not what was on the menu. My husband ordered Fish and Chips. The fish was soggy and tasteless, the chips were terrible. You could taste that the oil from the fryer needs to be changed. Just very disappointed and not happy about having to pay for such bad food.
