FXB Restaurant
Dublin
04/01/2025: A must if you love your steak. Just enough on the menu. Top quality ingredients and flavour.
Nice atmosphere and lovely staff.
23/12/2024: We enjoyed all the food at FXBs but the service was just a bit scrappy.
The main issue was that we weren't offered the Sunday Roast menu option. After having chosen from the main lunch menu, we spotted other tables getting the roast option with Yorkshire puddings which hadn't been on our menu. This caused a bit of consternation at our table. The breads starter took a good while to arrive, and we had to chase up on some soft drinks which had failed to arrive.
The food itself was good, nice steak and nice sauces, but the service wouldn't have us rushing back for more.

Old Punch Bowl
Dublin
11/05/2025: best night ever! fantastic service, great (massive) meals. The best landlady who Spoilt us rotten organizing an impromptu live performance from two extremely talented musos 💗
24/04/2025: I had the beef stew and bar none in was the best Beef Stew I have ever had. They even offered more once I had finished which truly shocked me. This pub/Restaurant is a must visit if in Dublin. I wish we were staying longer so we could come again before leaving.

The Arlington Bar, Dublin
Dublin
30/05/2024: Went to a Celtic night at the Boardwalk and had an amazing evening, especially thanks to the lovely bartender named Louise. She made incredible cocktails - and mocktails, while being very kind and helpful. Very nice place to try it you stay in Dublin for a couple of nights.
05/05/2024: We’ve been staying here on and off for about 20 years and I’m afraid on our last few stays, the experience hasn’t been as good as it used to be. It’s still an impressive, huge bar but it used to have fairy lights everywhere making it more magical. Some of the staff both at reception and in the bar seem a bit fed up but not all of them. The rooms haven’t changed at all so although comfortable, they really could do with being updated. Impressive reception hall but as you come in the main door there’s a couple of chairs and a very scabby table. Just seems tired and neglected. Our room overlooked a side alley which wasn’t pleasant but that’s no fault of the hotel. Also no fault of the hotel is that there’s quite a few hostels all round it.
On a plus side, the breakfasts are still good with something to suit everyone and we were pleased with our fish and chips at dinner one night. Vending machines in the lobbies which is handy. Toilets always clean.
No Celtic nights for the three nights we were there but had a good Irish music night. It’s still nice to come back to it at the end of the day for a few drinks rather than roaming about the city at night.
We will be back but it’s sad to see changes and would be nice to see some money being spent on it.

The Good Food Bar
Dublin
07/10/2024: Maravilloso desayuno completo, avena, huevos benedict, expreso y servicio. Muy recomendable. Está en un bonito barrio.

The Lab
