Laurel Restaurant
Dublin
27/06/2025: Pleasant layout above the pub, so you can have a drink before or after your meal. Our party of five can heartily recommend the specials at 35 euros for three courses, the fish dishes in particular were excellent. Service was very good. Interestingly, there were no condiments on the table, perhaps it's a culinary statement but as the seasoning was good there was no issue. Reasonable wine list. Definitely worth a visit.
27/06/2025: Laurel in Blackrock is a fantastic restaurant tucked away above the pub—a real hidden gem. The food is absolutely amazing, beautifully presented on elegant plates that make the whole experience feel special. Every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care.
The atmosphere upstairs is stylish and relaxed, perfect for a nice evening out. The only downside is the music, which comes from the pub below and doesn’t quite match the refined setting of the restaurant. Still, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit!

Quigleys cafe & Bakery
Dublin
21/10/2024: Good coffee, not consistently amazing, but to someone who isn’t that into their coffee will have a good mug of coffee. Friendly staff happy to chat and help. Good dessert and bakery food. Charging ports don’t work upstairs though :(
21/10/2024: So disappointed with the christening cake I got last Saturday! Left a terrible after taste and it cost me nearly €70! Won't buy a cake here again!!

Writer's Lounge
Dublin

Nakuru Cafe
Dublin
16/09/2025: Nice atmosphere to have a coffee during a long walk in the zoo
30/07/2025: I have been in that Starbucks coffee shop inside of the Dublin Zoo and they didn’t accept the Starbuck’s card which is been accepted everywhere I mean in ALL STARBUCKS around the WORLD. So, be advised about this.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen
Dublin
28/07/2025: €17 for burger meal in Dundrum.Looked good.No real taste off meat ,bun, kettuce or tomato. No nice sauce included? Burger was black on both sides and mot cooked in the middle.Im sure how they can justify the price?Certainly wasnt Gourmet quality.
30/05/2025: The fun began with their self-serve machine, which decided twice that it simply could not be bothered. I stood there like a chimp with an iPad, repeatedly stabbing the frozen screen while a queue formed behind me, full of people wondering whether they too would live long enough to place an order. Eventually, after what felt like a lifetime, the order limped through the system.
Fifteen minutes later my number was finally called, but not before they managed to turn what should have been a simple handover into a full-blown drinks disaster. My Coke was launched across the counter like a low-budget stunt scene, showering three innocent customers. Unsurprisingly, this did not go down well.
And then the burger arrived. Technically, it was a double patty burger. In reality, it was a cheap, greasy, structural catastrophe. The patties themselves looked exhausted — thin, grey, oily, and completely devoid of any real flavour. The cheese had melted into limp flaps, drooping sadly over the sides like melted plastic. And as if to ensure the whole thing was completely impossible to eat, they had crammed in a ridiculous slab of lettuce the size of a small parasol. It stuck out like the sails of a boat, making any attempt to pick it up result in an immediate collapse of the entire construction.
This was not one of those indulgent, guilty pleasure burgers you rave about to your friends. It was a cheap, greasy mess you finish only because you feel too ashamed to throw it away.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen needs to sort its technology, train its staff not to spill drinks on customers, and — most importantly — go back to sourcing proper burger meat. Because at the moment, it is a very long way from gourmet.

UNITED Coffee house & Co
Dublin
12/12/2024: I prefer the coffee beans from Cool Hand.
The milk is sometimes heated too hot and other times it’s too cold. I feel Insomnia is more consistent at my preferred 65 degrees.
The music is often too loud. I prefer the volume of the music at Lean Bean.
Finally, the owner, I think his name is Simon, is very enthusiastic and tells me to have an AMAZING day. I prefer a quiet Barista.
04/12/2024: The coffee is really excellent but it’s the staff that make this place. Friendly and warm but in a genuine way.

3fe The Triangle
Dublin
07/08/2025: Nice pleasant café. Bright and airy. Pleasant staff. Mainly coffee and pastries. A selection of 3 pre made sandwiches. So not the place for lunch.
Please provide a relish or pickle for the very plain sandwiches. That would really help. Especially at 9euro each.
Some nice cushions would really be appreciated. Both the plastic chairs and wooden couch seats are very uncomfortable. Thanks
25/05/2025: a place where you can drink a nice coffee and feel comfortable. Clean and high quality. The staff is friendly and warm. If you want to get your coffee and start the day positively, this is the right place for you. Thank you
