Atlantic Bar
Galway
13/07/2025: Convenience equaled disappointment. We checked in at 6P. Did not want to do much ahead of dinner so we opted for the bar restaurant. Sadly, the Caesar Salad was the worst I’ve ever eaten…the chicken dry beyond dry. Awful. Ate the salad without it so no protein.
Service was sweet, kind and S L O W.
19/06/2025: Came here to try to find some vegan food and a few drinks.... To our delight they had a whole vegan menu which looked ok. When the food came out it was outrageously bland, I asked for vegan mayo.... After ordering two meals from the vegan menu and my response was " we have ordinary mayo?" Well why would I want that? The chips were as dry as Gandhi's flip flops and the drink.... Oh lord the Guinness glass was used several times before us without being washed by the looks of it and my Jamo and ginger looked like it had been licked by a dog with rabies. Don't go for vegan food or even if you want drinks from clean glasses

SuperSubs
Galway
21/01/2026: Unexpectedly, we found a decent establishment right in the center. Pros: reasonable prices, decent food, a large, bright room. We'd passed it for about four years, thinking it was a cheap eatery. It turned out to be very decent. We ordered turkey in a pita with a variety of toppings. It was delicious and could be considered a healthy option. There's a selection of soups (3 varieties). There's a Baileys coffee shop nearby. It's decent. They also have good ice cream.
We also got a large pizza for just 15 euros.
The people around were very nice. The first room was full of older people, the second more young.
Recommended.

ZINC
Galway
11/02/2026: I'm an American recently moved to Galway, trying to find one decent burrito in all of Ireland. My quest brought me to try Zinc's Burrito Blasta.
I am a vegetarian, so I got the veg and halloumi burrito, which I know is not exactly a strict, traditional choice.
Ingredients:
Halloumi -- Good, but maybe could've been seasoned/marinated with something.
Rice -- Good.
Veg -- Huge chunks, not much taste, not my favourite.
Beans -- Worst part and negatively impacted the whole burrito. This was like a bean soup, and not seasoned with any of the correct spices. Remove a lot of the liquid and add more chili, cumin, and oregano. Or, just offer refried beans as an alternative option.
Lettuce, Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese -- Normal; can't really mess this up.
Pickled Jalapeños -- Good, a bit of heat.
Hot Habanero Salsa -- Very good. I would not call this "very hot" by the standards I'm used to, but I was satisfied with it and it had good flavour. Best part of the burrito.
Flour Tortilla Wrap -- Fine, but wasn't wrapped correctly (needs to be tighter or the burrito will unravel).
Tortilla Chips (Crisps?) -- Good, and included with order, but didn't come with any extra salsa to dip them.
There was an option to add "crunch" to the burrito, which is a mixture of crispy onion, chip bits, and pumpkin seeds. The first two sound good, but why pumpkin seeds? (I did not try this.)
For the same price, it is a much better burrito than An Bialann's veg burrito offering. I would guess the meat options are likely better. Could've been pretty good if they changed the style of the beans, but alas. My search continues.

Bay Brasserie
Galway
13/04/2026: Our meal - soup of the day- mushroom, scallops, sea bass, and filet of beef were 5 Star. The service and drinks were awful. We had food and drinks next door at Pier 56 the night before and the food was great but the dirty martini’s taste like water. I was hesitant to go to the Bay Brassiere the second night because the drink quality was so bad and the drinks come from the same bar. We ordered and were charged for Premium drinks. At first the drinks never arrived, then the wrong drinks- lemon martini’s when we had ordered dirty martini’s with Bombay Sapphire- hoping to improve on the drinks from the night before. We accepted the lemon martini’s which were ok. Again we very specifically ordered a dirty martini with Bombay- received the same water martini from the previous evening. The experience was definitely no worth the price.

17/08/2025: All items overpriced, and many products out of date. Didn't realise till I went to open a bag of crisps the next day that it had expired 9 days before purchase and my friend had the same situation with noodles bought here.
