The best restaurantsof irish in Kerry

11/08/2024: Food was fantastic but the lady running the place seemed to be in foul humour. She was beyond rude. Her staff were find but not terribly pleasant but that was hardly surprising if the boss was obnoxious to customers I can't imagine she treats staff well. We had booked a table for 6 but when she showed us in she said she was only expecting 5 so we'd have to squash in......the table was ample and had 6 settings. I just put it down to a mix-up. We waited 40mins to order and nobody would take it so one of our party went to the bar to ask if we could order. She was shouted at the they were very busy and there were people ahead of us and we had to wait our turn! Meanwhile the 2 tables who came in after us had already been served there starters!! Very strange behaviour. When the food came (90mins after we were seated) it was absolutely gorgeous, cannot fault the kitchen at all other than the delay. I just put it down to being very busy on a Thurs. As we left the Manager roared something after us about not leaving it 6mths before we visit again!! Literally the weirdest experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Maybe it's one of those places where you pay to get treated badly and roared at and that's what people go there for?? 🤔

06/08/2024: Lovely food and friendly service! Really enjoyed our evening. Lovely atmosphere. Not rushed at all. Gorgeous seafood and good wines. Will be back.

25/08/2024: We had a fabulous experience in Jacks this summer to celebrate a family birthday. We had eaten here a number of times in the past and it never disappoints, so we returned with a larger group of family to enjoy a beautiful meal in a picturesque surrounding. Brian and the staff took amazing care of our table throughout the evening. The hospitality was second to none. We had a couple in our group with specific dietary requirements (gluten & dairy free) and all of our food was delicious and catered to the needs of all. One of the highlights had to be the entertainment in the restaurant also. JP is an extremely talented pianist and indulged our musical requests. This hugely added to the relaxed and fun atmosphere for our family celebration. We were also treated to some bubbly for the occasion. A huge thanks to all in Jacks for a night to remember. Beautiful food, drinks & great company in the perfect setting. We will happily return again. Would highly recommend!

13/09/2024: Fabulous lunch my companion had the. Seafood chowder, and I had the fish and chips to die for ….now we’re sharing a homemade sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

07/09/2024: Food was expensive, size of portion small, they call themselves a bar but have a small vriety of beer Staff did not know anything about the kinds of beer

14/09/2024: We stumbled across this hidden gem on a return trip from one of our hikes and how lucky were we. A beautiful Irish old style cottage with beautiful decor. The pancakes were cooked to order . The girls serving our table were very friendly .

13/09/2024: We stumbled across this gorgeous place when exploring the Ring Of Kerry and how happy we were that we did. The cottage is cosy and quirky, with gorgeous decor and handmade crafts. The pancakes were the best we have ever tasted. We enjoyed both sweet and savoury options with the highlight being a pancake dressed with brie, strawberry coulis, crispy bacon and pecan nuts. The flavours were to die for. The coffee is excellent too and the tea is served in the cutest little kettle style pot. This place is so worth a visit.

29/08/2024: I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. It arrived with no Caesar salad. Which waitress provided when asked. It consisted of lettuce leaves and what tasted like sliced chicken from any supermarket. As I was leaving I asked the young lady at the cash register to let the chef know it was the worst excuse for a chicken Caesar salad I had ever had. As we, my nephew and myself were leaving we realised we hadn’t been offered “daily lunch specials” I’m figuring these were reserved for our American tourists. Come on ballybunion golf club you can do better, the locals money is just as important for your business as the tourists “or is it” would I go back? Absolutely not.

14/06/2024: Nice views from the upper level of the clubhouse. Several dinner choices. Reasonable prices. We liked it so much that we ate here 2 nights in a row.

19/07/2024: Service was very slow waited over an hour for our first course. Food was over salted and over priced. Dessert was bland first and last vist.

06/07/2024: Once again, we totally enjoyed our evening with you. From fantastic fish n chips, tasty tuna tostada, sizzling medium rare steak and crispy crab fries, our group left loving everything. Your team is friendly and attentive. Keep doing what you’re doing as it works well!

13/10/2024: On a 3-friend tour of Ireland, our day of outdoor scheduled events had to be scrubbed. Silver lining is I would have never visited Muckross Garden Restaurant otherwise! I had a simple but very good potato soup and a plate of 3 chocolate éclair puffs. It's one of two places we went in all of Ireland with a soda fountain machine. Got a Diet Coke. The self-select hot meals smelled and looked fantastic. The selection of house made desserts was staggering. The atmosphere is casual elevated comfort. Everyone very nice. The adjacent gift shop is a good one! You won't be disappointed!

28/09/2024: Muckross Garden Restaurant is located close to the Muckross House in Killarney National Park, in Western Ireland. We came here to have breakfast a chicken sandwich, a cake and a cappuccino. All of them were ok, a pragmatic breakfast to begin the day visiting the Muckross area.

12/06/2024: Service in the Danu restaurant was terrible! Food was great! I asked about the pencil 3 times, because they forgot to give us! I ordered pasta with sauce on the side for my daughter and came together :( The waitress only said “I am sorry” because the restaurant was busy, but I didn't agree, as there were a lot of empty tables! The staff are not prepared. About the bill had the wrong value, the waiter adjusted twice and it was wrong again... the third time he printed the bill correct with the right value. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant

27/05/2024: Der Seafood Chouder als Vorspeise war lecker und auch der Fisch zum Hauptgang. Beilagengemüse und Kartoffelbrei waren aufgewärmt und geschmacklos. Insgesamt OK aber nicht herausragend.

29/08/2024: This was once the highlight of our annual trip to Southern Ireland and the Ring of Kerry, but we were really disappointed by the service and quality of food in the restaurant when we visited last week. I'd like to say we were 'greeted' by the staff, but instead we were 'ordered' to go to a table whilst we were trying to view the menu options on the board. The waitress was surly and most unhelpful, unfriendly and found it difficult to get any orders correct. The food was by far a lot less pleasant than previous visits, and overall our experience was not good. When we decided to have one of the famous Red Fox Irish coffees, that too sadly had declined in quality Really will think twice before adding this previously favourite haunt to our list for future trips

26/08/2024: Stopped by for an irish coffee, which was great, but the masses of tourists from bus groups were annoying. Even more annoying was the absurd , not even "Disney like.." village. A complete waste of time and money.
