04/09/2025: I can't judge the quality of the food, unfortunately.
We arrived at 9 p.m., after a long drive, at the Beaufort Bar and Restaurant. We understand perfectly well that it was a little too late to eat, but the cold welcome and the equally unfriendly response from the man behind the bar wouldn't have given us a good impression of the Irish... luckily we met some extremely friendly ones elsewhere! We're staying in the area for a few days... we won't be setting foot in this establishment again. Very sad.

03/01/2026: This was hands down the best dinner myself and herself had all year. It felt like the soup was giving our insides a hug.
The vegetables were like They were cooked in the mist of a waterfall in a mythical land. They just got the simple things so damn right.
Steak and the fish were clearly just from a good source and everything that was on the plate was there to compliment everything else.

31/12/2025: Best meatball pasta I've ever had on the lunch menu. Very reasonable price as well for such high quality food. I'll be seeking how to make that sauce :)
Jennies butternut squash soup was also top notch !!!

Life guard patrolled beach 100m away. Free space for kids to play in full view of parents.

The food was good, though.
Gluten-free pizza and pasta available.
18/05/2025: We ate pasta there. Everything tasted like it was pre-made sauce with lots of garlic powder. The food wasn't good. The service was very friendly and nice, but very loud, as the dishes we ordered were constantly being called into the kitchen. The restroom was simply disgusting. It wasn't cleaned, it was incredibly dirty. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Fish and chips -- The coating on the fish was rock hard and tasted of old, tired grease. The fish was overcooked and had a very strong fishy aroma and taste. The fries were not bad and ended up being the best part of it. They charged €19.95, a very high price, which emphasises the fact this place is a big-time tourist trap.
The servers were working at a furious pace and not very friendly. They would snatch a plate away almost before you were finished eating.
Forget eating here, it's not worth it. Having to go through the gift shop to get to the food says it all.

26/09/2024: Sheehy's Anchor Down is a restaurant located in Dingle, the most important one in Dingle Penensula. We came here to have dinner last October and we could eat a soup of the day and a home made fisherman's pie, which were very good. Also we drank a Golden Ale beer from West Kerry Brewery, which is not so far from here. Very nice place, decoration and food.
18/08/2024: I'm surprised to see such rave reviews. Everywhere we've gone in Ireland we've been treated to excellent hospitality. Until we went to Sheehy's...We were greeted by a grumpy waitress who gave us the worst table in the house even though there were lots of open tables. When she brought us menus, they were out of shrimp and calamari and mussels and other fish. I ordered the Seafood Chowder which was good, but my husband got the Fish Pie, which looked like exactly the same thing with potatoes on top for way more money.

The Horseshoe

13/07/2025: Esta fue nuestra primera experiencia cenando en The Horseshoe después de muchos años de simplemente "tomar bebidas" en este popular pub de Kenmare. En busca de mejillones con salsa picante los encontramos en Horseshoe. Una salsa de chile y chorizo que estaba perfecta. Los mejillones estaban cocinados en su punto justo, de modo que todos menos uno se abrieron, pero permanecieron regordetes y sabrosos en la salsa picante que estaba distribuida uniformemente sobre ellos. He probado porciones más grandes de mejillones en otros pubs, pero rara vez una salsa picante con mucho cuerpo que te pidiera que comieras la salsa que quedaba como sopa después de haber comido todos los mariscos. Nuestro mayor cumplido siempre es: "Volveremos".
10/06/2025: Gran lugar. Parece un restaurante una vez que estás en la puerta, no dejes que esto te desanime. Muy agradable. Gran stout. Muy agradable, personal amable. Comí unas pintas antes y luego volví para la cena, que estaba delicioso.

27/04/2025: Situado en el centro de killarney. Parece cualquier otro pub / restaurante desde el exterior, pero es el interior lo que lo distingue.
Estábamos buscando un almuerzo ligero y nos quedamos impresionados con la elección que se ofrece. Dos miembros serviciales del personal de guardia que nos atendieron muy bien. excelente comida y dri nk que tenía un precio razonable. Volveré.
