19/03/2024: Lovely welcome by staff.Huge log fire in the bar.Bedroom was beautiful.Barfood was amazing great portions.Deserts were gorgeous.Breakfast was great and plenty of choices.Beautyfull breakfast room overlooking the garden.Staff were brilliant.

20/03/2024: We were so blessed to experience this restaurant. We knew it was pricey, and a local couple confirmed the value! We never mind paying for a fine experience when they live up to it. Solas far exceeded our expectations with their food, service and the atmosphere. I’m not a great food photographer, but here you have it! I had the mackerel tartlets, and skitaki croquettes. My husband had the lamb kebabs, that he still dreams about and a tortilla with mushrooms. Scallops are my all time love and often go to choice. So I thought I had room for more and ordered them. We had a break in the action because we all got up for the Saint Patrick’s Day parade. Which came right past us. By time the scallops arrived, I was full. BUT THEY WERE INCREDIBLE! It was my dessert! Which we would have ordered. My husband was full as well. I would recommend 2 dishes each. And of course dessert! If we have time we’ll be back for sure!

13/03/2024: A Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant that deserving of that title 100%. Each dish especially oyster and scallop ceviche was so fresh and beautifully executed. Each plate presented itself with burst of flavor and uniqueness. Highly recommend to get onboard the palate adventure here at Solas.

23/03/2024: Came in without a reservation, and the manager was kind enough to let us get our food to go, considering the place being very busy on a Saturday night. Staff was warm and accommodating, while the food was prepared swiftly and to an immaculate standard. The carpark atmosphere was very calm and quiet, and the dimmed lighting served for a romantic meal. Overall, the food was delicious, and the portions were large for their price. The restaurant looked cozy and will definitely make a reservation to sit in next time!

01/04/2024: I had the most beautiful fish and chips ever, the fish was fresh and the batter was just applied to the fish before the chef cooked it. The batter wS crisp and the fish melted in your mouth.

28/03/2024: This place is a local gem 💎! I've been a few times and I loved the veggie burger, the butter chicken and the chocolate cake. Their softserve ice cream is perfect too!

30/03/2024: The Killarney Avenue Hotel was simply great. Hands down, Elena was the absolute best! She always had a smile, she let us check in early, and constantly made sure we had a satisfying stay. The hotel is in a great location. Close enough to walk everywhere - the train station, downtown, and Killarney National Park. We would definitely stay here again!

19/02/2024: We had high expectations of this hotel which has an excellent location in Killarney..so much so that we paid to upgrade our room and enhance our stay. What a mistake that was! You would think an upgrade would give you a much better room ..well all we got was a view of the air conditioning system right outside our bedroom window and it was covered in astro turf. The astro turf did not dull down the noise and to add insult to injury another guest decided to have a full on telephone business meeting on his phone at 1 am. The soundproofing was non existent. When we told them about it the next morning they asked why we hadn't complained at the time. The stay was a gift from my husband and the last thing you want to do is start a fuss the minute you arrive. By the same token why was an upgraded room in such a location. The receptionist said someone would be in touch about it. Needless to say we are still waiting! Not what you would expect from the much hyped Ring of Donaghue

24/03/2024: Great beer from our own production that tastes very tasty. I recommend the IPA. The prices are fair and the staff is very quick, especially when the worst thing that can happen has happened: the beer is gone!
