The best restaurantsof irish in Limerick

28/06/2025: Very disappointing!! Went for brunch travelled an hour to get there. When we arrived at brunch time they had run out of French toast ( main reason I went) so I asked could they do pancakes instead. I was given a kids portion of pancakes ( store bought at that) 10 minutes before my partners food came so by the time her food came my meal was gone. She got huevos rancheros which honestly was extremely poor. The coffee was good I will admit but the rest extremely poor. When it came to paying I said I would bring it to the attention of the staff member taking the payment. I wish I never did. Completely disregarded my feedback. Just overall disappointing. Such a shame, I work in hospitality and the service left a lot to be desired aswell as the food.

27/06/2025: Such disappointing behaviour - Ordered food and a coffee, coffee arrived. I immediately got a call my mother was after being involved in a car crash, informed the staff I had to leave immediately, explaned my mother had just been in a crash and to cancel the order. The staff insisted I had to pay in full for the odered (and not even received) food before I coud leave. Delaying me leaving in an emergency to demand payment for food I hadn't even received. Disappointing behaviour and lack of empathy is an understatement.

16/07/2025: Was gutted to be told kitchen was closed at 08:45pm in evening by senior Barman when I wanted to order food. I Had ordered food at bar with a friend before 9pm many evenings in past and had never been refused a meal before. Was asked by bar man in charge if I wanted to have a drink instead. Which was what I really didn’t have in mind and indeed it was no way to treat a regular customer to say the least. So If you were in my shoes how would you feel about been treated like this after been a customer there for so long?

10/07/2025: We recently held our company BBQ at The Unicorn and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The food was just delicious and the outdoor BBQ area was absolutely lovely—spacious, beautifully set up, and ideal for a relaxed, social atmosphere. Thanks to Bryan Jim & team who went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful evening. It was a 5-star experience. Highly recommended for any group event or celebration!

05/07/2025: Enjoyed dinner. Hake was fresh with baked small potatoes.

09/07/2025: Brought a group of 60 people over from the US stayed 4 nights. Staff was very accommodating, breakfasts and bar food delicious. Hotel bar had reasonable prices. Would definitely stay there again.

28/06/2025: Honestly we have had the best stay! The lady Sarah was so welcoming and couldn’t have been more accommodating! We enjoyed every minute of the stay from the amazing rooms to the 5 star breakfast! We cannot wait for our next visit!

10/07/2025: The two ladies working the night shift have no customer service skills at all — they treat people like they're stupid, and it's really annoying to the point that I'd rather not come back to shop there.

29/06/2025: Food is awesome, staff is very friendly. You can eat food sitting outside at the benches, there is no sitting space (You don't need sitting space anyways). Highly recommended.

12/07/2025: The bouncers are sound. However one bar woman had a vendetta against a group of people. Refused to serve a group of men for no discernible reason continued to serve younger women and men who were throwing glasses around the place but lads in their later 20s/ early 30s were treated rudely. You would be better going to pubs like Nancy’s and Locke’s avoid at all costs. Pure rip off as well.

09/07/2025: Usually I would never do this but I felt I had too because well for me my partner and little one for 2 dinners and a baby bowl was 56 euro and look we paid it but we wouldn't mind if the plates were full nope I got 2 tiny tiny pieces of beef a couple of carets tiny mound of mash only decent amount of something I was given was the gravy, herself got the vol o vant for 15.50 she got one pastry small small lump of rice and couple of carets and baby bowl for 8.50 for 2 sausages and one scoop of mash and gravy, also sausages were stale and left over from breakfast. if your paying that much for a carvery at least fill the plate. absolute scanscandalous prices for what we got and was starving and had to go get more food an hour later which i was very very disappointed about, due to this ill be going elsewhere for carvery and be telling everyone not to go here because of this

08/07/2025: My son love this restaurant we come in ones a month but this morning I got a dirty plate when I ask for a clean one it wasn’t taken nicely the girl ask me what did I want to do about it when I ask for a new plate she grabbed it off the table and came back and drop it on the table didn’t even say sorry about it.. don’t think I’ll be back in a hurry..

15/07/2025: Nice pub. Unfortunately hard to enjoy my pint when a young barman was flinging empty bottles into the container regularly. Even a local joked about if it was possible to fling them harder and make more noise.

13/07/2025: shouted at by staff for asking to use the bathroom as a paying customer. Incredibly rude staff warned to leave the facilities as i found them that staff weren’t willing to clean them again.

13/04/2025: We have visited The Good Room many times and most of the time the food is very good. There’s good choice on the menu and something for everyone. However, the service is an issue unfortunately. It takes far too long to order , we’ve often had to wait a good 15/20 mins after seating and then have to go get a waitress ourselves or try to get the attention of one. It’s a pity because as mentioned the food is consistently good but poor service leaves a bad taste I’m afraid.

16/03/2025: Was delighted to try this cafe after hearing such positive things about it. My friend and I both ordered the pulled chicken on flat bread. We were both dissatisfied with the quality of chicken. All we got was the grey meat. Afterwards we both felt gawkey thinking about it. For the price charged I would have thought there would be some white chicken! Not sure if I would go back again after this unless it was for a vegetarian option!
