24/11/2025: The food was disappointing. The gravy was too thick, lumpy, and overly salty. The chicken was greasy, and the breading fell off because the meat was overcooked. The woman behind the counter (older, with black hair) could also work on her customer service and attitude. Feel free to eat there if you don’t care about quality or taste — but I definitely won’t be returning.

17/11/2025: I listened to the Chicken Hut Blindboy podcast on the way to Ireland, as recommended by my Irish boyfriend. My mouth was watering on the plane and I simply couldn’t wait to go to Chicken Hut. You walk inside and it’s like a time capsule. The place is overwhelmingly run down but if you were born in the 90s, it gives you that warm nostalgic feeling that maccies would provide you as a child. Boyfriend and I went for the gravy chip and 4 pieces of chicken. Presentation wasn’t incredible but hear me out, it’s all part of the experience. The gravy, it’s seriously proper stuff. It’s as thick as mashed potatoes, peppery and rich. The chicken, juicy, herbaceous, spicy, unique. I can’t wait to come back. The forks in the bag, you ghoul! I’ve saved the carrier bag to stick on my bedroom wall to savour this experience.

14/10/2025: Stopped in for breakfast while driving through the area. So glad we did. Traditional Irish breakfast, perfectly done at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

08/09/2025: Not great, was new in the 80s, seats tinny, run down not clean wouldn't go back, also no meals under 13euro

29/10/2025: Comfortable hotel bar, great service from the bar staff. Not too busy when we were there.

05/10/2025: The restaurant's location is excellent, and the meal vouchers from our hotel were a great start. The food itself was fantastic, which made our experience even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the service was atrocious. We were not attended to at any stage during our meal, and no one checked if we wanted more drinks. We also had long waits for our food and had to flag down staff just to get the bill. It was disappointing to see what looked like a lack of training or management, as staff seemed to stand around talking to each other instead of helping customers. The poor service completely overshadowed what should have been a wonderful meal.

02/01/2026: My sister and I planned a large surprise party in the Unicorn over the weekend and we were absolutely blown away and delighted with everything from start to finish! Our guests remarked how gorgeous the new section is, as it is spacious and an ideal party location! Especially the Christmas decor, it was so atmospheric and cosy. Rita, the events manager made it so easy with a quick consultation! The food platters were very generous and for a large party the ample parking made it easy for guests! I have to say, Jim and Billy working on the night truely went above and beyond. They and the rest of the staff made sure everything ran smoothly! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone thinking of hosting a party! Aoife x

04/10/2025: A great Irish pub in Adare. We were looking for music and a little nosh, which they don't really have, especially on weekdays. They do have music on weekends tho; however, it isn't a dining place. It is a bar, but a very clean open, comfortable space. Big Al took care of us - made a couple calls and got great Irish music...later a woman with a harp came by and joined our little trio of gentlemen! We had 24 people in our group on a golf birthday trip. Al was able to get a few platters of bar food (chicken, sausages, and fries), even though he said we could bring in food ourselves. The place was packed with our crew along with other locals and travellers. Big Al (he is very tall!) was taking care of everyone so graciously and easily. It was a perfect celebration to finish our 10 day trip..our group left the next day. If you have a chance to visit, say hello to Big Al with gratitude from the Americans!

18/12/2025: The short ginger woman is always very mean to the other staff, I’ve noticed this every time I come here. She talks to them like they’re stupid However the girls who work at the counter are always so helpful and friendly, they do a good job and are always smiling. There’s never an issue with my food

25/10/2025: Private birthday party on the 1st floor. Great but very small room with private bar and waiters. Perfect for a gathering of up to 50 people. Downstairs was like a pub restraunt when I arrived and then turned into a fully packed nightclub when I left. A great spot to spend an evening.
