The best restaurantsof irish in Limerick

28/10/2024: We were visiting Ireland for our 25th anniversary and stayed in Limerick for just one night as we traveled all over the country. My husband found recommendations for Freddy's on Google, so we popped in, not realizing we needed reservations. The hostess tried to squeeze us in but they were all booked up, so we asked her for a recommendation and she suggested the Spit Jack just a few blocks away and we ended up having the BEST meal if our trip! So I wanted to say Thank you!!! Although we didn't get to try out your wonderful sounding menu, we were very grateful for you trying to squeeze us in and for your suggestion of a wonderful place for dinner!

24/10/2024: Had a great family meal 6 of us. Everyone loved the food. The service was perfect. We were able to ask for hake with no salt or oil or butter and veg with no butter. Vegan food was so tasty, and the dessert was amazing. I have been here years ago and it's still a top top restaurant. Everyone was very happy we chose this place.

28/10/2024: The setting is really nice, service good, starter (scotch egg) delicious, dessert delicious,but €42 for a steak no better than one I'd pick up in lidl is an absolute scam. Its on me for not trusting my usual instinct which is to not get steak out (especially when it comes covered in pepper sauce - good steak shouldnt need it) but the place has a good reputation so I expected great things, especially at that price. It wasnt bad, a bit overdone but it was ok, but it felt like charging that is taking advantage of their good reputation. Spoiled a nice experience otherwise

26/10/2024: Party came down with food poisoning and there was zero flexibility with cancellations. I guess you want people to show up vomiting in your restaurants.

04/11/2024: We had our baby's christening here yesterday. It was the best day. Firstly dining area was layed out beautifully. The decorations I had bought were put up and the room looked amazing. The staff were so professional and attentive. Nothing was an issue, we were left make the day completely our own. The food was great, fresh and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed it. There was plenty to go around and looking for more if we needed it was not an issue. Everyone had a great day. Brilliant place, beautiful surroundings and exceptional service and value for money. We'll be back for sure. Thank you to Ger, Gerry and the team.

05/11/2024: Atmosphere is great but the food is alright. The staff is really helpful and vibe is absolutely amazing. Lunch time is a little empty but the Free parking makes it perfect 😁

03/11/2024: Personally my choice of menu was a mistake. Should have been wiser. Chose 2 starters; Atlantic Chowder & Thai fish cakes. The place is not geared up for this. The Chowder was ALL cream with a variety of fish chunks & the Fish cakes…frozen? In any event it was all mash with a sniff of fish. Staff are nice, drinks fine, atmosphere good (did clear out after 21:00 ) & my other guests all enjoyed their meals 100%. They stuck to tried and tested Gastro pub foods in chicken wings, ribs, Caesar salad. I need to be wiser. 🙄

27/10/2024: Service was appalling. Shame because the food actually tasted good. The server who took our mains order was nice unfortunately after we were finished with our mains nobody came to clear the table for a while before we went ahead and cleared it ourselves. Different server came and asked us if we were finished (as if it wasn't obvious) and never offered us deserts. It was my birthday dinner amd after 20 minutes waiting to order desert finally we were offered one but honestly we didn't want one anymore we just wanted the bill. Still waiting for the bill to arrive 40 minutes later. Absolutely shocking. I expected much more considering the pictures online were looking good. Ps the music was depressing brakeup songs all way through the dinner which took away from the atmosphere. Very disappointed to say the least.

26/10/2024: We had a big table reserved for a breakfast with our little ones and the staff was just amazing with all of us. Cannot recommend enough! The food was really fresh and delicious! 10/10.

26/10/2024: The worst experience ever. Very expensive prices for a terrible food. I paid €18 for a “special” burguer with lettuce, tomato and a chicken very dry. Not worth it.

22/10/2024: I usually don't give this bad of a review, but this place wasn't good, they told us to sit outside, even though they had enough seating inside. The service wasn't good. The fish and chips were good. The only good thing was the curry.
