Healy Macs Bar
09/03/2025: The bar food was lovely and had a great menu. We ended up going there three times; however, every time we went there, and this happened to every other table as well, the food always arrived before any drinks. Had to ask for water and where our drinks were. It took about 10 mins for the food to come out, which is brilliant; however, 10 mins after the food arrived, still no drinks. Had to ask staff every time for the drinks. I wouldn't say anything if this only happened once, but every time we visited, this happened; it also happened to every other table.
23/11/2024: Went with friends for coffee a couple of wks ago and meant to write a quick review here just to say it was very enjoyable with great service from the very competent Mairead. Sheâs friendly and great at her job. Went for a bite to eat this evening with two friends and the experience was very good again. The hotel was warm, with beautiful Christmas decorations up and the food was lovely and not over priced. All the staff were lovely.

Gavin's Cafe
Westport
08/09/2024: It's very disappointing because we didn't even qualify. On the Internet it is written that it is open, but we found a sign on the door that it is closed. We were detoured from the route because of this cafe
23/08/2024: Stopped here for a quick sandwich, very tasty and fresh. The staff were friendly.

George V
20/04/2025: Top notch food and service in a beautiful dining area. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Both breakfast and dinner are not to be missed
24/12/2024: The George V Restaurant at Ashford Castle offers a truly magical atmosphere, especially during the festive season. The elegant Christmas decorations, the historic castle setting, and the warmth of the fireplace create a charming and luxurious ambiance that makes the visit feel special from the moment you arrive.
While the atmosphere was impeccable, the overall experience fell short in other areas. The food, unfortunately, was inconsistent. The scallops were overcooked and overwhelmed by a chaotic plate presentation, while the winter salad impressed with its fresh ingredients and creative dressing. The black sole fillet was cooked well but accompanied by two types of potatoes, making it feel less refined, more akin to pub fare than fine dining. Desserts were limited to mousses and soufflés, with no cakes or other creative options, highlighting the need for a skilled pùtissier to add variety and finesse to the menu.
Service, though attentive in some respects, did not meet the standards expected of such a prestigious venue. Key oversights included:
Coats were not taken upon arrival, an unusual omission in a high-end setting.
Wine was served only after the food had been brought to the table, disrupting the natural flow of the meal.
Basic fine dining etiquette was missing. For instance:
Serving and clearing from incorrect sides.
Crossing into guests' personal space rather than walking around the table.
Stacking plates while clearing.
Not replacing dropped napkins promptly.
Additionally, the waiting staff lacked the refinement and poise expected at such an establishment, detracting from the overall sense of occasion.
That said, we appreciated Manager Andrej's warm attention and the thoughtful anniversary treat, which added a personal touch to the evening.
However, given the steep pricing, the value for money was disappointing. The quality of both food and service does not justify the high cost, leaving us feeling that the experience lacked the polish and excellence one expects at such a renowned location.
While the ambiance and charm are undeniable, significant improvements in both service etiquette and culinary execution are needed to make the George V Restaurant a truly exceptional dining destination.

Flannerys
29/12/2024: Fabulous food for the whole family and my son has allergies to dairy fish and eggs.
It is rare to feel comfortable and trust all the staff. A big 5 đ
27/10/2024: Had restaurant booked for birthday dinner for group of 6. Was worried after reading previous review. All I can say is we were blown away. Live in Midlands and eat out frequently, including Dublin. Flannerys is without a doubt at the very top when it came to food and service. Definitely missing out if you don't pay a visit. Friends and I already organising our next visit. Thanks Flannerys for a fantastic experience.

Zest at the Marketplac
28/03/2025: Was in to order an occasion cake and wasnât really sure what I was looking for. Our server was named Siuin (spelling might be wrong!). She was so lovely and patient and talked me through all the options for my order. So nice to see a young worker smiling and being so pleasant to customers and her staff. Will be back to order cakes in future. The cake was delicious!!
07/03/2025: Wouldgive a zero if possible, we went there a christening cake for our daughter no problem cake looked lovely but one of our guests noticed the blueberries were completely mouldy bear in mind we only picked this cake up a couple of hours before we took pictures and went back in well! When i mean made out to be liars is an under statement not even a sorry did we get and we eleven said we don't want anything back we just wanted them to be made aware well we were told we wouldn't be getting a refund anyway because we were lying no management in sight either and was told i wasn't allowed talk to a manager as what I was saying was foolish and didn't need a manager... we actually had to leave the staff was that disgraceful and ignorant needs a complete overhaul of staff and well after that I wouldn't recommend zest in ennis to anyone for food or especially cakes if they at least said hey my bad we'll be more carful don't know how that happened would have been sound well I'm telling ye hands down the most embarrassing and ignorant staff in a restaurant or any business iv ever went into or had to deal with honestly fuming over this !!!
