15/02/2025: One of my favourite places to eat. Good food and atmosphere without being over-stated. Best to arrive a bit early as the line can go out the door and down the street during busy times, still it's well worth the wait to get a table at The Junction.

08/03/2025: This is a wonderful restaurant. We went for dinner to celebrate a family birthday in March 2025. We chose from the set menu. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm, the maitre de was fun and entertaining. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. Enjoy!

12/02/2025: Food is absolutely delicious me and my partner love coming here as the portions are well done , and we always leave stuffed ! Your paying for what your getting . The only down side would be the service we like to sit in the back the poet room and we make it knowing to the waiters/waitresses each time but they always seem to forget about us and we have to keep getting up asking for bits , no one to check how where getting on etc , the place could definitely do with a refurbishing .

03/01/2025: My first restaurant in Ireland and absolutely divine! Came here together with the whole family of my boyfriend and we ordered the sticky toffee puddings with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream 🍨 after having a lovely steak and the gamba on focaccia. I also enjoyed the atmosphere very much and would love to come back here another time again. It’s located upstairs over a pub so if you feel like having a few drinks after or watching darts world championships that would be the best place to be, too.

13/02/2025: Myself my wife and child popped out for a bite to eat to top off a few days off from work. Personally I didn't want to go because I heard about what I am going to tell you now. I wont get to fancy about my Journalism and get to the point. I used to eat here quite regularly but like most establishments it is too expensive to justify anymore, we eat takeout instead. Here is our meal line-up. This is our experience of shrinkflation. Starter 3 small pieces of garlic bread and a little salad €7.90 (see menu below) Beef Burger and Chips - The burger was absolutely tiny (3-4oz Max - at least 30% smaller than it used to be, the chips were served in a tiny cup (maybe 10 chips - where the chips weren't even poking out over the top rim), the cup they are using is smaller and has replaced the one they used previously. To add insult to injury they served it on a tiny plate with a side salad to make the food look bigger by proportion. €18.90 (see menu below). 10oz DRY rib eye - This steak was 4oz at best with a small bit of potato and veg €32.9 (see menu below). Childs Pizza - (Hard to mess that up). Warm Chocolate brownie - (Hard to mess that up). We got wine and a few drinks as well, we needed it it after the above. All I can say is that the chef and the management should be ashamed of themselves for serving out so little food for such an amount of money. Its an absolute disgrace. We shouldn't have to complain, they know themselves but assume we wont complain (we shouldn't have to be put in that position anyway, they should have the decency to look after their customers from the get go). Other members of my family had food recently and had the same experience. Westport in general has gone really expensive, nearly all restaurants, cafes are the same in addition to the price of hotel rooms, many families now come and stay in hotels and eat takeout and have a few drinks in their rooms. I don't know why anyone would bother coming here anymore

23/01/2025: Beautiful house and grounds, the river and lake make for some lovley photos, the grounds are well kept anf full of wildlife, some beautiful walks and on one side you have the town on the other you have the coast road and harbour. A fantastic location to visit and explore, cheers

20/11/2024: We are in Ireland for a couple weeks and have eaten at 2 of the finest hotels on the island but they pale in comparison to the authentic local fare served here at Carney’s. The seafood chowder was exactly what I had hoped for on this cold and rainy evening and was served piping hot with a side of delicious mashed potato. My wife had the Vol au Vents and it was hearty and delicious as well. All served and the Guinness poured perfectly by Katrina who was an superb host and she cheerfully provided local information and was very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend.

26/02/2025: I ate here at the wend with my husband and son. The food was really good and tasty, nice menu & choice, friendly staff. We had 2 courses and everyone was happy with what they got! We look forward to going back, would highly recommend!

Delicious food, perfectly prepared scallops, tender steak and a delicious fish dish of the day. Very good coffee and dessert. High-quality professional service. All this at pleasantly surprising prices. We will definitely come back, we highly recommend it.

10/02/2025: While the quality of food here is excellent, the quantity in which it is served is very poor. Especially considering the high prices (a lager costs 7 euros for a start) Verging on skimpy at times, I got one sliver of focaccia with a very small bowl of chowder, my partner got 4 prawns in a starter dish of 14.95 euros. The portion of fish served with chips was terribly small too, almost half the size of a serving you'd expect anywhere else. The cheese board was also very skimpy, not even a grape was served with the small servings of cheese and crackers. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, but we felt hungry on leaving, such a disappointment.

08/07/2024: Was brought to Susie’s Bistro in Tubbercurry Golf Course for a Sunday luncheon with a friend, and from start to finish, you couldn’t find fault with the service or the food. Would definitely recommend Susie’s Bistro for any occasion as it’s 5 star service. The roast beef is simply delicious 😋

21/09/2024: We stopped here twice during the Summer and had delicious Fish & Chips. Freshly prepared in the kitchen. Very good prices as well. Friendly staff too.

10/02/2025: Myself and a few others had breakfast here this morning.. Food was ok, but the service wasnt fantastic. Took ages to get milk and a few sachets of sugar (to be thrown down) for tea and coffees.. and then there was a lady with blonde hair with a fringe and glasses behind the bar was quite snappy with us when we were paying. Personally staff arent very nice, and go else where in future. But to the red haired girl, absolutely lovely that took our order. Bit of customer service training wouldn't go astray lads!

28/01/2025: A great place to stay. Huge, very comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Nice touches in the room. An impressively concise pre arrival text with parking and door code details. Lovely breakfast.

15/03/2025: avoid like the plague looks great on the outside and on the inside but that's just for the tourists got mushrooms to start I found them absolutely undercooked but others at the table found them OK got a chicken curry half rice and chips both of us and the chicken was pink raw and undercooked so put it to the chicken to the side from both plates with the raw showing on 2 separate side plate waitress can over to pick up the plates saw the chicken and just took them away and then to be charged full price without even a manager to atleast say sorry for the raw and undercooked chicken all in all 15.50 for a 3 in 1 that you could get in any Chinese take away for less than half the price
