26/08/2026: Visited here multiple times during our stay in Westport. Everything we tried on the menu was excellent, the beer was cold, good service. Steady busy but not packed and we never had issues getting a table. Will definitely go back when in the area.

Made us feel very welcomed today myself and 3 other individuals who were on a social outing as part of community support group. 09/09/2026: A small, charming pub on a corner in the middle of nowhere. The food was excellent and the value for money was fantastic. The interior is typically Irish; the oilcloth tablecloths reminded me of days gone by. Everything is clean and highly recommended.

14/07/2026: What a wonderful evening! My friend from Westport invited me here, and I was genuinely impressed. The food was outstanding from start to finish. I chose the special of the day – halibut with a lobster bisque – and it was absolutely delicious. I especially loved that they even brought me an extra jug of the bisque, which was such a lovely touch. The starter was equally delicious: perfectly cooked scampi served on a fresh salad. The restaurant itself is quite small, which gives it a warm, intimate atmosphere. I felt very comfortable throughout the evening, and the service was friendly and attentive. If I’m back in Castlebar, I will definitely come here again. Highly recommended!

03/07/2026: We picked Dinning Room as a restaurant for our small wedding meal. From the start Shirley was so accomodating with times, they designed a custom menu especially for our occasion which was a lovely touching gesture. The food was amazing every dish tasted amazing from the bread to starters, mains and desserts. Staff were lovely and kind, very professional. The restaurant itself is a lovely small intimate place great for a special occasion to celebrate. Lovely touch also from Kevin taking time to come out and talk to us. Lovely people, beautiful restaurant and the most amazing food.

29/08/2026: The Dungeon is another restaurant at Ashford Castle and a completely different experience from the more formal places. It has the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub — very relaxed, cozy and absolutely casual. No need to dress up at all, which is actually very nice for a change. The food was really delicious. We ate very well and the service was excellent too. And of course I have to mention the onion rings — my favourite — they were absolutely excellent! 😄 One important thing: definitely book in advance. The restaurant is quite small and there are not many tables, so it can easily be full. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Simple, cozy, very Irish, great service and very good food. Definitely recommend it during your stay at Ashford Castle! Absolutely worth trying, especially if you want a relaxed and casual evening

12/06/2026: Well. What an amazing place. The staff are so hard working. The beer is chilled. The atmosphere is epic. And the food is wonderful. I just had the best curry I’ve ever had and I worked with ghurkas in a former life. I’d give this place 100 stars if I could. Just wonderful.

18/08/2026: Back again in Ireland and was happy to enjoy another wonderful meal here.... I loved everything about this place. We had almost given up on having lunch out when we came across this place. Great find! Can't recommend it enough.

13/05/2026: If you’re looking for THE castle experience this is it! The overall experience has been top tier offering grand furnishings, indulging restaurant and bar menu and relaxing atmosphere. The neo-gothic architecture and interior design transports you back in time. The only restaurant on site offers a unique and elegant menu with the highly recommended Drunken Bullock steak that is an experience in itself. As I write this, lounging in the luxuriously decorated sitting room adjacent to the Armada Bar, I can confidently tell you this is the place to book if you’re looking for a private castle visit. With only 10 bedrooms, you are guaranteed a timeless environment that takes you back in time. We are traveling the Wild Atlantic Way, which the Belleek castle has special WAW bundle offer with complimentary breakfast every morning, one night of complimentary 3 course meal for 2 at the their restaurant and 2 pints of Guinness at the armada bar. They also offer a tour (highly recommend booking) of the castle and dungeons daily which gives you an extra activity to do around the property. We are a young couple visiting from California. We got to meet the owner and he was so kind and friendly to us and our 16month baby. Happy to write they offer pop up cot which has been our deciding factor in choosing our residences along the WAW so we didn’t have to travel with a pop up cot. All in all would highly recommend coming on a weekday where you can avoid a possible wedding/wedding guests. The castle was up to par with what we had expected— the food/service was great and beautifully furnished. Some might expect Ritz Carlton meets Highclere castle- This is not that so get your expectations right before coming. The castle was such a fun experience along our journey across Ireland.

19/04/2026: We had a fabulous time at the Beleek Castle. The desk clerk explained about the castle and signed us up for a guided tour. Tickets were reasonable. Our guide was a school teacher and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the castle. It is richly decorated with antiques and is popular with people planning weddings. The best 2 areas were the room of Jurassic fossils and the room of ancient weapons and armor.

22/08/2026: I ordered a classic margarita which is a drink that i find many irish bars struggle to get right but I have to say it was absolutely outstanding! One of the best I've ever had. The only thing i would recommend is a bit more salt on the rim and for them to use flakey salt other than that i have no complaints. The service was fast and the servers were so kind. Overall it was an amazing vibe and will be coming again.

10/08/2026: Bridge st bar is set on Bridge St in Castlebar it has a good atmosphere in it, and they do Salsa Dance lessons upstairs, the staff are very friendly and helpful too

09/09/2026: An exceptional experience. Food and service was 5 star. Couple that with being in the majesty of Ashford Castle, it is a night that won't be forgotten. The castle and grounds were magnificent

29/08/2026: We had dinner at the George V Dining Room during our stay at Ashford Castle and really loved it. It is a beautiful restaurant and absolutely matches the level and atmosphere of the castle. The atmosphere is very calm, elegant and quite intimate, which I personally really liked. We had the five-course menu and honestly enjoyed everything. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and the service was really top level — exactly what you expect from a place like Ashford Castle. Maybe one small observation, and of course this has nothing to do with the restaurant itself. For such a beautiful and elegant dining room, I expected the dress code to be a little more elegant as well. Some guests were dressed very casually, which for me doesn’t quite match the atmosphere of a place like this. But maybe this is just my personal feeling. Nothing really to complain about here 😄 Just a very, very good dinner in a beautiful setting. Definitely recommend it if you are staying at Ashford Castle!

05/05/2026: To three restaurants in the county for sure. Always good for a special meal, but I'd recommend dropping in for a small bite or one of the specials on midweek. We often order all the starters to share and it's a real flavour journey. The wine is fantastic too!

01/09/2026: Truly one of the world's best golf courses. Played it in late August, and I can't stop thinking about it. Such a special place, from the minute you pull down the road leading past the graveyard to the clubhouse. The people of Belmullet should be proud of what they have built. Thank you so much for your hospitality and warm welcome.

18/08/2026: Lovely golf course great shape fast greens just needs more signage we went wrong a couple of times otherwise very welcoming great club house serving great food.

10/08/2026: Basic room, but had everything needed. Staff was very responsive. Breakfast was awesome. Irish breakfast is big enough for two. Lively pub with lots of local patrons. Would be a great place for those looking for a pint of Guinness after a day of travel.
