27/10/2024: Beautiful food, expertly prepared, hospitable service, and a beautiful room. If it wouldn’t require a transatlantic flight I would gladly dine here weekly. We came with a group of 8 rather last minute and they took excellent care of us. We’re already preparing for our next meal in a few months.

24/10/2024: My wife Vivien and I, nephew Shane and his wife, Mairead recently had the pleasure of dining at The Dining Room, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The Stirzarker family and their staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, creating an atmosphere that’s as friendly as it is comfortable. It’s clear that the team at the Dining Room truly cares about their guests, while the food itself is simply outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. You can tell the chef here is passionate about his craft, as the food felt creative and thoughtfully prepared. The combination of excellent food, fine wine and such friendly service makes dining at the Dining Room a truly special experience. If you’re looking for a place where you can not only enjoy an incredible meal but also feel truly cared for by a welcoming team, this is the restaurant for you. I cannot recommend it highly enough and we are looking forward to repeat the occasion on our next trip to Castlebar. Éamonn de Búrca

09/11/2024: Absolutely brilliant! Great food, great service. Menu is varied and a very big selection of gluten free dishes, would highly recommend this place!

25/10/2024: Class meal, from the prompt email reply in booking to the end of the meal this was class! You get a choice of menus, picked a starter of mushrooms and mussels strange combo but really tasty thanks to the waitress for the recommendations , prawn curry with basmati and an extra of alloli fries (not required) the portions are huge…..then the best for last baked Alaska omg delicious 😋 so worth a visit sorry it’s taken so long to venture back here, won’t be as long this time!

03/11/2024: Went on a busy Saturday night. Bar was lively and Mick greeted us with such warmth that I felt the need to leave a 5 star review. Pure gent and very welcoming. Even went out of his way to find my partner a high stool despite how busy it was. Couldn't ask for more. Great pub that deserves all its success. (Maybe bring cash)

10/09/2024: My wife and I had a great meal last year when visiting the area. We decidied we must eat at Blue Serenade again. We booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Peter is wonderful as a host and a character. We shared a bowel of mussells as a starter, followed by mains of Lamb Shank, and Chicken Duxelle. We both had Chocolate Orange Cheesecake as a dessert. For drinks we shared a bottle of Merlot. it was a very relaxed meal, - be prepared to have a wait between each course. The food is obviously freshly cooked to ordered. High quality standard of food, and wine. The total bill came to €94.50 which we thought was fanstastic value for the evening. The restuarant is small and intimate, with plenty of character. The choice of music is 1970', 80's eske which is line with the whole experience. A bit quirky but brilliant all round.

08/09/2024: Delicious food for a good price. Food came very quickly and was a good portion. Friendly staff. Cash payment preferred, but can also be paid by card. Highly recommended!

30/09/2024: This is my second time in three weeks going here . And the two times I was here both times my order was wrong. I was too far away to call back . But the staff are nice and the food is good
