04/01/2026: Just home from a fantastic meal in the cottage restaurant. Everything was fantastic from the greeting at reception to leaving food staff Everything 💯% definitely will be back .my son got this gift for myself and partner for Christmas excellent choice .happy new year to all keep up good work

17/11/2025: €40 per person is a good price for the 3 courses and tea or coffee. Amazing choice of starters I had the goatsbridge smoked trout . The sirloin of beef 🥩 was the best I have ever tasted. The dessert trolley is amazing. Service is exceptional food is amazing 🤩 parking is free .

17/01/2026: We travel to this restaurant several times each year and it never disappoints. This evening my companion had the black sole while I had the 12 oz waygu ribeye steak. Absolutely amazing food. Pauline and Michael in the kitchen are both excellent and imaginative chefs constantly keeping the menu interesting. Shannon, our server is always most helpful and friendly. 30/12/2025: On a whim, booked table for 2, for last night. Starter, duck liver pate and crusty bread, and red onion marmalade, was perfect starter. Main course, Wagu rib-eye steak , with onion, garlic potato and roast veg, the Wagu steak was divine, it was soo tender and full of flavour, complimented with the side of roast veg and garlic potato. Dessert was a beautiful home made mince pie, filo pastry base, with a frangipane topping, it was complimented with home made creme anglaise, it finished off beautifully a lovely evening of beautiful food, wonderfully prepared and presented by attentive competent waiting staff that added to this great expierence.

04/11/2025: We often stop here on the way to the west of Ireland. Its a great halfway stop. Lovely food, cosy atmosphere. Staff always lovely. Their veg soup and brown bread is delicious 😋

27/10/2025: Called in this morning 9am while passing through the area, reception door wouldn't open, but the restaurant door was. I asked the staff if they were severing breakfast, one of the staff said "No" and something about been full, hard to understand the accent. She said I could get something to eat in the garage down the road, if i wanted to eat in a garage i wouldn't be asking are they seriving breakfast, don't see how they were full as the car park was half empty (5 cars) and there was no one in the restaurant at all, place looked dead. Went onto Stokestown and had a lovely Breakfast in the Percy French Hotel. Never again.

31/10/2025: Great food, great service and the staff are extremely courteous and obliging.

03/10/2025: Tried out the Pepper Mill after a local recommendation. Found it clean, friendly staff and food was great. Coffee was nice too. Will be back.

04/12/2025: The Moorings Restaurant in Knockvicar, Roscommon, is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere makes it easy to relax and lose track of time. Every dish is crafted with care, but the Duck L’Orange is truly exceptional – perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavour. The service is attentive without ever feeling rushed, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy exquisite food in a welcoming setting.

19/10/2025: All good apart from the stupid lazy people who park directly outside on the road in a controlled do not park zone holding all the traffic up both ways because they can't walk more than ten metres whilst they waddle in to buy a box of cakes.

14/10/2025: Fabulous sandwiches & desserts - cater for GF & vegan 😍 coffee also good & staff couldn't do enough for us. Definitely recommend 👌

11/12/2025: A very inhospitable place. Today I was asked to leave the parking lot because I was staying too long. I arrived in Roscommon yesterday evening and parked my camper behind the gas station, near the laundromats. I did laundry this morning; I was tired of the journey, so I needed some time to rest. I was planning to go to the gas station for lunch, but a tall, bald man, probably the manager, came and asked me to leave because I was standing too long. This is Roscommon hospitality. There were plenty of empty spaces around; I wasn't blocking anything. There's not a single place in the entire town of Roscommon where tourists can park. I don't recommend anyone visiting Roscommon; there's nothing there, and you might meet a sad man who is the king of the parking there

27/08/2025: Been here a few times over the years, it's a hit and miss, sometimes it's lovely and friendly staff and good food and sometimes staff haven't got the time for you and the food is OK.

31/12/2025: Nice hotel. Room very nice. Spacious parking . Food was good.

20/11/2025: The rooms and furniture are not the best During my check-in, the receptionist was in hurry and cold, not only with me, there was another customer before me and he received the same treatment. The next day in the morning, two young members of the staff (in the breakfast area) changed my prescription of the hotel, and then at the checkout, the warmest greetings from the old lady (I think she's the owner). Best of luck
