14/01/2025: Popped in for a family lunch and was delighted with the experience. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Staff were brilliant and attentive. Service was prompt and when we needed more chips/drinks they brought them out straight away. Would definitely go back. Very picturesque spot beside the Shannon too.

03/02/2025: Had the most fantastic dinner. Had the steak sandwich and I didn't even need a knife it was so tender. We were a party of 12 and the staff were so attentive we couldn't fault them. We will be back.
20/10/2024: Super venue for a party, we just had a Christening party with a great meal & music 🎶 defo be back for more.

04/02/2025: I made a pit stop at Hannon’s Hotel, hoping to enjoy a hearty meal. I ordered the chicken curry with chips, but to my disappointment, the dish fell short of expectations. The curry was served tepid and lacked distinct flavor; it came across as exceedingly bland and unappetizing. The chicken was overcooked, and the consistency was far too watery, leaving the entire experience feeling rather lackluster. The chips, rather than providing a crispy contrast, were soggy and unappealing. Overall, I found the meal to be quite unsatisfactory, and I would not recommend it.
03/02/2025: Didn't rest well on there old worn out beds and room cleaned only once in three nights stay. Not recommended to stay here.

20/01/2025: We had lovely meal here after Christmas. Food was really good and we all enjoyed. I had Prawn Bruschetta and Duck for mains , both were delicious. Wishing the new management there all the best.

13/12/2024: Food was decent. Staff nice, but very unaware and not very attentive. Took 20 minutes to order dessert after mains due to staff not noticing we were finished mains. Asked for dessert menu, but had to ask a second time and a different staff member. When eventually got the dessert menu the staff member did not follow up to take order. Had to wait and try get attention of another staff member. Wasted about 20 minutes in total. Bizarre carry on 😅
09/09/2024: Myself and my daughter booked into L’Escale restaurant. We decided on a main & a desert. Both of had chicken it was absolutey beautiful. My daughter had the chocolate fondant while I had a lime & lemon panacotta so nice & our waiter Aragon was really professional.. lovely decor too. Def recommend this restaurant. Sinead

Douglas Hyde Restaurant - Kilronan Castle

17/08/2024: We stayed in the castle and dined twice in the big room. The 8 course tasting menu was really fun and some of us got the wine pairings too which ended up in some new favorite wines. The breakfast buffet was the full Irish breakfast of course but 8 days into our driving tour, this was the first time we got a perfectly cooked fried egg since day 1. Kudos to Kilronan castle! The restaurant was kind enough to sit our 3 family party all together even though we had separate reservations. Thank you!!
