The best restaurantsof irish in Sligo

22/04/2025: Went to my first trip to Sligo and went here as recommendation from my friend and wasnt dissapointed. Food excellent, bar staff friendly and lot of space to sit. Also there was an event happening by coincidence and the atmosphere was incredible. 10/10 PS: they have kangaroo meat on the menu which was great.

09/04/2025: Great food, large garden at rear. Friendly staff. Good location. Extensive menu. Highly recommend veggie lasagne and chicken tikka wrap. Its huge! Really tasty pub food. Would return.

08/05/2025: Everyone must visit this pub that sends you back more than 100 years. You are seated in snug booths with high walls so that conversation is encouraged and private. Great food, especially the fish chowder!

06/05/2025: We stayed at Hargadon for two evenings. Great very own authentic pub with good and slightly better pub food. One of Sligo's oldest pubs. Great service. Food was okay. Unfortunately the seafood chauder was a bit tasteless. Otherwise everything was fine. Price wise okay. Guinness was good!

13/05/2025: Very pleasant stay. Beautiful hotel and beautiful rooms, very clean, with a lovely view of the river. Decent buffet breakfast with plenty of choices. Very good dinner at the hotel's restaurant "The Kitchen". Excellent cocktails at "The View" bar, but the bar can be really, really noisy on weekends, which spoils the experience. Excellent stay, however. Very pleasant, helpful, and attentive staff.

11/05/2025: The service was very good. Food and drinks very good. Room like a oven. Air conditioning was shocking. More like a greenhouse.

24/02/2025: I have been going to Lyons for a few years and the food is still as tasty as ever ... great selection..5⭐️.... staff really friendly too ..a must for breakfast..lunch etc...👍

27/11/2024: Fab fresh Gluten free sandwich & Soup. Popped in for lunch with a friend Busy Restaurant but great service and great value for money.

12/04/2025: Had dinner here. The service was very quick. We weren't waiting long for our food, but carbonara was not nice. It tasted like sauce from a shops own brand sauce. Not great for carbonara that costs €20! My son had the steak sandwich, he said it was very nice. The waiter was nice and polite, but the waitress with the black hair really does not like her job and doesn't try to hide it.

31/10/2024: Nice food but don’t believe the out of date menu prices on the website. Manager laughed when I pointed it out and apologised they were too busy to update the website!

26/04/2025: Disappointing, standard has gone down a lot. I ordered prawn toast to start and was extremely greasy and only warm. Got the "pulled pork" burger for main but it was chunks of dry pork belly with sauce between two buns. Not what was advertised. The chips were dry and tasted like they had been sitting out for ages. Tasted like oven chips you'd cook at home that we're left out sitting for 20 minutes and reheated. Not nice. I ordered a sundae for dessert that was advertised as being topped with fresh berries but wasn't. I also ordered a coffee that never came. Staff were friendly but food overcooked and bland, reheated not fresh. Person beside me ordered the chicken burger and agreed was very dry.

23/04/2025: Went here with a group of friends for a birthday dinner, the staff were so friendly and attentive from the start, even sang happy birthday with a dessert, we all ordered various cocktails and they all tasted and looked amazing, the staff’s attention to details is like none I’ve had before, making sure we were all okay and comfortable. We split a few starters which came out in good time and were delicious. After the starters were done our mains came out nice and quickly afterwards, I had the Korean Fried Chicken which was incredible and I will definitely be back just for that. In other areas the atmosphere and music complimented the restaurant so well and even the bathrooms were clean and stocked. Will definitely be back and recommending Hooked to everyone.
