29/05/2025: Hidden little gem, service fantastic, food amazing, felt so homely and didn't need to wait long for food. Absolutely brilliant so happy we went here and would definitely go back just for the food here alone. Great value for money.

22/07/2025: Lovely spot in the middle of the town for a coffee pick me up and a slice of cake or bun. It’s v busy but had quite a lot of seating. My son loves the Cornish pasties which make for a lovely breakfast or lunch on the campsite. Coffee is good

14/06/2025: The water tasted like chlorine. The lamb was practically raw — impossible to chew and even harder to cut. When we mentioned it to the waiter, there wasn’t even an apology. For a place that charges high-end prices and tries to present itself as upscale, this was incredibly disappointing. I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

25/04/2025: Absolute peach of a pub. Lovely people, lovely fresh local food. Reasonable prices. Only downer is that it’s difficult to park. But worth trying!!
08/02/2025: Great food in a beautiful oldstyle pub, welcoming, friendly staff and locals and a blazing fire on a cold day.
The chowder was delicious as was the brown bread and the calamari and prawns were as good as I have ever had.

02/06/2025: Fabulous food served here. It was tasty and fresh and served in comfortable setting by friendly and efficient and helpful staff. We loved the onion rings which came with the dish. It was probably 10 years since I was there last and again it did not disappoint.
20/12/2024: Our return visit this week was as good if not better than last time. Friendly service, good choice, excellent food. Roast beef was some of the best we had. Reasonable prices.
Ample parking. Will be back.

New Forest Estate
22/05/2025: The golf course seemed well maintained. The apartment (we were in #1) needed a good cleaning. Some light fixtures didn’t work and the staircase had a loud squeak. The couches (2 love seats) were worn and the padding was past its prime. The beds were so hard sleep came sparingly. The apartments form a 3-sided “U” shape so if groups are in the courtyard making any noise it echos around generously sharing it with every unit.
