The best restaurantsof irish in Westmeath

02/11/2024: The food was ok. We are there during the autumn term break so two tables were parents with children. While radio music played over the cafe's speakers, a young boy entertained himself by use of his phone at full volume. A baby, barely 5 months old was exposed to a children's entertainment piece at full volume on a mobile phone. For lunch guests looking for a peaceful eating environment... This was not it, it felt more like a fast food chain seating area.

20/10/2024: Very friendly staff nive sandwiches and o Coffee.

05/11/2024: We didn’t stay in the room but had heard this was the best food in the area. Thank you random Irishman “you were right!” Atmosphere was pleasant and busy. Definitely an older building; they used a dumbwaiter to bring the food from the kitchen. Everything we ate or drank was delicious and filling. My wife tried different ciders and I continued my Irish whiskey drinking! If the rooms are as good as the food then next time we’ll stay here for a day!

23/10/2024: I have been to this Superman's a few times over the years, and I've never had an issue. Today, however, I met a young man who I can only describe as rude. When he served me, I felt he wasn't listening and had to repeat my order for him. When looking for a table, there were four or five tables that were dirty and rubbish on them. My food took a long time and when it arrived it was wrong. I had ordered a plain chicken burger, and on the box was a plain sticker, but it wasn't plain. I went back up, and another young man said he would get me a fresh one. He arrived thirty seconds later with it, and I was my original burger, just scrapped clean. When I was finished and putting my rubbish in the bin, the bins were full. Several other customers had to wipe tables themselves to sit down. This was shocking, and I will not be returning.

02/09/2024: We LOVE this place for lunch, it’s fast, it’s clean and the food it’s soooooo good. The staff are so efficient, friendly and most of them have been there for years! Lyndsey is shush fun she always sees us coming in the door and wastes no time sitting us down and getting us the menu! Excellent service. This is our favorite restaurant in Athlone!

07/09/2024: I ordered a "cornish pasty" in Walsh's. I knew immediately it wasn't the real deal because it was made with puff pastry instead of shortcrust pastry, but figured I'd go for it because it would still be tasty...how wrong I was. The filing of a cornish pasty should be beef, potato, turnip and onion; I couldn't tell you what filling Walsh's put in their pasty, certainly not beef, I don't even think there was any kind of meat in it; it was with a flavourless, soggy mush. I regret not complaining and asking for my money back, considering I was charged about €10 for a product that was falsly labelled and unpalatable. Very disappointing.

24/08/2024: Gorgeous food and cakes here, definitely fresh. Would return next time I am in Clifden. One negative was their organising at busy times. There were 2 queues one for people getting stuff to take away and then further in was the queue for self serve for people who were going to sit in the cafe. Because the first queue was so busy we didnt know that there was the second queue we spent a good 10 mins in the wrong queue. Maybe if they had an usher at the door directing people to the correct queue, or serve the take-away customers through a separate window or hatch, things would be less chaotic at busy times. Dont let this put you off though. Just make sure that you get in the correct queue if you are sitting down.

01/11/2024: Disappointed that they won't sell bottles anymore only drinks from the drinks dispenser.

23/10/2024: Chip were warm but not hot, had a taco takeaway would not go again.
