The best restaurants in Kilkenny

10/11/2025: Only open for private functions. We booked out the whole property for a family function including main bar, restaurant, ballroom and guest accommodation rooms and had an amazing night. Would highly recommend.

09/11/2025: Could not recommend this venue more. My sister in law recently got married there and they did everything in their power to make her day special. Between decorating the function room beautifully they made everything perfect, which took so much stress off the family looking for another event decorator. The food was fab and served quickly. Also it was booked for 130 people and at least 30 more people showed up and he welcomed them and served them dinners too. The owner is a lovely man he couldn’t do enough for the bride and groom and family a very lovely place with a warm welcome to all.

20/08/2023: Had the vegan taster menu and everything was so delicious, thought the courses would never stop coming so great value for money! Staff were lovely as well :)

30/07/2025: Avoid at all costs! Zero stars if I could. Terrible service, terrible atmosphere, overpriced! Staff more interested in texting, chatting- had to go into back room to ask for someone to take order even though they could see a queue of people waiting! Forgot part of order and pretty miffed when asked if could have it. No vegetarian options but “we could take the ham off the the ham and cheese sandwich”. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Lots of cafes and restaurants outside the castle to go to!
