The best restaurants in Portlaoise

18/01/2026: Nicely decorated restaurants stone walls and ceiling beams,wasn't impressed by the service ! We were waiting 20mins to be even asked for our orders thats criminal !! ,no offer of jug of water or titbits to nibble on as you wait.The food itself was ok the burger is super thin you get 2 on your bun to try make it look decent,the fries were average, also what put me off returning here is the noise of the music blaring I feel like you're competing with the racket playing while trying to have a conversation.

08/04/2026: Stopped by on my travels around Ireland... Can honestly say that this is the best place to go in Port Laoise! Great customer service the owner was very attentive & pizza was amazing.

05/03/2026: Take-away (delivery) of Fish and Chips Nicely presented for a take-away as for the food ...I couldn't believe how fresh the produce was , nice crisp batter as for the chips they were on point . I would recommend the fish and chips take way

01/04/2026: The food is always delicious, my only complaint is that it takes them a long time to serve food. But the taste of the food always makes up for the wait. Make sure you get an Oreo milkshake,it's worth it.

16/10/2025: Went to Jeremiah’s over the weekend, lovely pub with a lovely atmosphere. We got served by Danni who was very friendly and professional, a credit to your business. Will be returning soon

16/10/2025: We were visiting family and went there for something to eat. From getting there it felt like we were welcome. We got our table and Danni Kennedy served us. She was very welcoming and friendly. It just felt that she could not do enough for us. The food was excellent and very tasty.

02/04/2026: This is a wonderful place to eat, portions are filling and the quality is outstanding. Take your budget and throw it out the window because you will be spending a pretty penny, but if you have a special occasion or really want to treat yourself it is worth it. The menu has evolved over the years and I am happy to say that I have enjoyed every change. Staff are wonderful and professional, they really help to craft and facilitate an outstanding experience whatever the occasion.

04/12/2025: Beautiful place that's always bursting with life. Broad menu including vegetarian and vegan options. Sells alot of local produce supporting small food and drinks business.

05/12/2025: The food was amazing, super fresh fish, home made chips, large portions, the desserts were top class, everything was perfect. Polite staff, we loved the cozy and old fashioned atmosphere.

01/03/2026: We ordered sushi bento and tempura bento. The waiting time was not too long, and the food was quite tasty overall. However, when we asked the waitress how many pieces of sushi were included in the bento, she couldn’t answer. It was a bit surprising that she didn’t know this detail. Overall, a good place with decent food, but the staff could know the menu better.

26/02/2026: What can I say. Top Class Japanese food. If you like Sushi. My family do but I don't. But I get their curry or hotplate dishes. Always excellent.

30/08/2025: What a gem. Service was just top class, friendly, fast efficient. Value for money. Toilets clean, wash basin in mens needed clean is all & maybe needs an upgrade aesthetically wise. Eggs benedict - top quality bacon 🥓 was very tasty, could be but crispier, but personal preference. Hollandaise was delicious, lemon coming through. Poached eggs perfect runny... Coffee & tea solid. Highly highly recommended 👌 #supportlocal

The interior is really lovely and it’s a great place to sit. ​The Coffee: As a specialty coffee fan, I was a bit upset that they don't serve Filter coffee, only espresso-based drinks. They also have a lot of syrups on the counter, which isn't usually a signal for a strict "specialty" coffee shop. ​The Food & Milk: However, the alternative milks here are amazing—definitely a highlight. I also have to mention that they have really nice dessert options, which go perfectly with the coffee. ​Verdict: Overall, it is a lovely cafe and the best option in town. Just keep in mind it's more of a comfort-coffee spot (syrups and lattes) rather than a pure specialty black coffee roaster..

28/11/2025: Lovely staff and coffee but the front door doesn’t close. It is Baltic in there; very, very cold.
