28/10/2024: Driving from Celbridge to Dingle we stopped at Pat Collins bar in Adare. We arrived right as the owner Michael Collins opened the doors and gave us a friendly greeting. Service was quick and our order came right away. The vibe is warm and friendly. The Irish Stew and carrot soup was amazing.

22/10/2024: Food was amazing, Service was impeccable, and the live music was a hit! Pat Collins Bar was the perfect way to end our day!

20/10/2024: Myself and my husband had our wedding reception at The Dunraven Arms in July 2024 and we cannot speak highly enough of our experience throughout. From the first day of meeting Louis and his staff, we were made to feel so welcome and were so assured by their kindness and professionalism. In preparing for the day, we were given ample time by Louis to meet, discuss and plan everything according to our wishes. The day itself will be etched in our memories for the rest of our lives. Everything was top class from start to finish. The food, the staff, the ambience. We could not have wished for better. Our enthusiasm was shared by our many guests who were effusive in their praise of the hotel, the entire staff, and the delicious meal enjoyed by all. A special word of thanks to Hugh, Denis, Mariah and the wider catering staff. In summary, we loved our time at The Dunraven Arms. The staff were all exceptional and the standard of catering and accommodation was superb. A very sincere thank you to you all. Hats off on a job superbly done. Mary Thérèse and Brendan Crowley

18/10/2024: A disappointing stay in The Dunraven for me. I had a lovely memory of a break here a number of years ago. As a result I booked a two night's special, as a treat for my husband, who is recovering from recent surgery. I thought he would benefit from some peace and quiet in warm comfortable surroundings. I was so taken aback when we were shown to our room. A ghastly, lurid electric blue, hard leather sofa and chair assaulted our senses. Gone also were the carpets and curtains and everything that contributed to that lovely memory of my previous stay. The room was the opposite of calm and restful. I had a visceral reaction to the jarring colour and lack of comfortable seating and asked if we could move to another room with soft furnishings. I was told this wasn't possible without paying extra for an upgrade to a junior suite, all the executive rooms were decorated to the same standard. I had to pay the extra to escape the awful decor. Visitors beware, if hard leather electric blue seating is your thing, you'll be in heaven, otherwise you might share my dismay at the "upgrade". In the hotel's favour the bed was magnificent, it was like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfasts too were excellent. A special mention to Alyssia and Anyssia in the dining room, they were so lovely, gentle and professional and helped lift our spirits.

09/09/2024: Had a lovely time with my son we share a nice afternoon that I still think of. Atmosphere was great . We did not have food but it look amazing.

12/08/2024: On Sunday 4th August we arranged for 60 people to come go to the pub for the day 2 of our wedding celebrations. We had family and friends coming over from Dubai, Frankfurt, New York and England. We had arranged this months in advance. We were told that it was €50 per food platter for 10 people in which we opted for 6 platters worth €300. After 1 hour of being the in the pub the food came out, however, it wasn’t a food platter to feed 10 people but rather small food baskets to feed 2 people. We never received enough food to feed 30 people never mind 60. It was extremely disappointing and it meant guests actually left Bill Chawke’s to get food within the village, all too polite to say there wasn’t enough food. We were also told that there would be live music at the pub which is another reason we picked this venue. We wanted people visiting the country to experience the traditional Irish music. If we knew you were not providing music but a DJ at 9:40pm we wouldn’t have chosen this pub. Another poor experience we had was when some of our guests ordered a cup of tea. The pub said they don’t have tea bags so our guests went to the local shop to buy some. When they came back they asked for hot water and were charged for tea. Thankfully this was resolved at the time and we were given a fair refund. The attitude of some young staff was very disrespectful though. Lastly, when our foreign guests were going to the bar they were getting charged more for alcoholic drinks than the Irish guests, which left a sour taste in our mouth. Not a very good day 2 experience for us as the hosts of our wedding celebrations or the tourists coming to visit. We have since messaged the pub and manager and had no reply which is very disappointing. It is safe to say we will not be returning anytime soon or recommending it to others.

16/09/2024: Sunday dinner for a couple one week ago. We were curious about the wood fired oven 🧐 Fancy garlic bread with cheese to start and the pizza: chicken, wild mushrooms and truffle mayo 🤤 (photo), all amazing. If you like a relaxed atmosphere and different flavour pizzas I would recommend. The staff were kind and friendly. Just the waiting time to order the final espressos ☕ shouldn't be so long but it couldn't bothered the experience.

25/08/2024: Different types of pizza here. All delicious. Could put you off Dominos for life.

08/11/2024: I ordered supreme of chicken dish, nice meal €22.50, another vegetable besides the cabbage would have been nice. The portion of chips served in a little silver cup was very disappointing for €4.50. Staff were nice.

28/10/2024: The setting is really nice, service good, starter (scotch egg) delicious, dessert delicious,but €42 for a steak no better than one I'd pick up in lidl is an absolute scam. Its on me for not trusting my usual instinct which is to not get steak out (especially when it comes covered in pepper sauce - good steak shouldnt need it) but the place has a good reputation so I expected great things, especially at that price. It wasnt bad, a bit overdone but it was ok, but it felt like charging that is taking advantage of their good reputation. Spoiled a nice experience otherwise

26/10/2024: Party came down with food poisoning and there was zero flexibility with cancellations. I guess you want people to show up vomiting in your restaurants.

19/08/2024: Sean greets customers, seats and visits them… This is personal and intimate in a way that businesses rarely are. I had the steak and it was very good….actually cooked to order. Prices reasonable, place is personable…. Great pick!
