Castle Leslie Estate
Glasslough
23/11/2025: Very nice place to stay friendly staff and well looked after. The food and accomodation is great.
21/11/2025: There are times and occasions in life when we must put pen to paper to borrow an old addage. 21st Nov 2025 we went for a meal to the hotel and the setting, the service and staff were stunning. My aunt's loved the food and the venue and a special fuss was made of the birthday girl. Definitely going back

Creighton Hotel
Clones
16/12/2025: Spent the weekend here while in Clones for a christening. It's a really lovely hotel. The rooms are large, spotless and well decorated with big comfy beds and a great shower. Great breakfasts and dinners - lots of local eating there which is always a good sign - plus friendly and accommodating staff who can't do enough for you.
The reception after the christening, on Sunday, was in the hotel too and was very well organised and catered to. The hotel was really busy with several events going on when we arrived on Saturday, but it didn't affect the service we received at all. Highly recommend the Creighton if you find yourself around Clones.
14/11/2025: Creighton Hotel is not merely a place to stay, but a vantage point into the layered soul of Clones. The rooms are quiet and balanced, yet stepping outside you encounter the Round Tower whose stones bear the double handwriting of centuries, the High Cross on the Diamond, and the faint memory of Saint Tighernach’s monastery where manuscripts once whispered before vanishing into legend. The town itself carries the scar of the border division, its streets pausing like unfinished sentences, while the Ulster Canal and the ghost of the GNRI railway remind us of plans interrupted and journeys diverted. As W.B. Yeats observed, “The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
In Clones, that magic is not loud but subtle, found in the silence of stone and the humor of history. To rest here is to join a philosophical dialogue with time itself.

Old Coach Inn
Castleblayney legal
14/12/2025: Amazing place. Perfectly located on York Street in the heart of Castleblayney. This building has been welcoming travelers since 1860 when William Byrne first opened it as a coaching inn on the old Dublin-Enniskillen mail coach route. Still feels like stepping back in time!
11/12/2025: ⭐️ Highly recommend The Old Coach Inn bar and restaurant! Had the best Full Irish breakfast, expertly made by Annette – fresh, fast, and beyond expectations! Plus, there's 2 hours of free parking right next door. Just before I go, I was sitting next to a fireplace! top spot for a great start to your day! 😋👌

Pizza D'Or
Monaghan
14/06/2025: Wishing David all the best, was passing through Monaghan twice a week in the 90’s heading to Cavan to see a young lady, was always told to get a supreme + a spicy tomato on the way through .Courting for 10 years…. cost me a fortune ! We’re married 26 years now, but anytime we’re heading up to Cavan, the wee treat was Pizza D’or
GUTTED !!!!!!!!

The Red Door Cafe
Carrickmacross
02/10/2025: We went for the first time today as we’d seen reviews it was very dog friendly - and happy to find it was! Plus the food was delicious & the staff absolutely lovely. Will definitely be back!
28/09/2025: Highly recommend for anyone looking for great coffee and even better company. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. The food (I recommend the pancakes!) and coffee are consistently excellent, and it’s the kind of place you look forward to coming back to.
One of the things that makes it extra special is the community spirit – the Sunday run club is such a brilliant idea and adds a really positive vibe. The cafe is also dog friendly, which makes it the perfect spot to relax after a walk or run.
