05/10/2023: The deli was looking wonderful and colour full, the ladies in the shop were lovely and gracious. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

21/03/2024: Ever since Mardyke Street has been given a facelift I had been meaning to pop into the pub, which has also got a glow up. You can clearly see that there are some regulars who feel very much at home there. I quite like the decor, there is a TV for those who don't want to miss the football/rugby matches. A good Guinness and a few chats, a nice evening.

20/03/2024: The workers are really rude. When we bought a hamburger we also had something prepared in our bag, they came at us and started being really rude about how they were going to get us out if we don’t put the other food away.

01/05/2024: Heads-up for concern on food health and safety in Charcoal Grill Athlone at Paynes Lane. Today observed constantly that some random teenagers were walking freely from lobby/customers area to the kitchen as well as from their washroom to the kitchen again. Looked like they knew the staff working inside the kitchen and at the same time waiting staff were serving food from same kitchen to their customers. Felt too much concerned about health and safety measures like how come random visitors and obviously some of them were having meals in the customers lounge seating area too could go freely inside their kitchen. They really need to only allow staff on duty to be within their kitchen area in order to make sure health and safety of the food served on customers. I hope they take this seriously for wellbeing of their customers.

15/12/2023: Second year in a row having our Christmas night in Lord Bellamy's. Always an enjoyable night with great music, food and atmosphere. Centrally located with great staff.... would recommend.

07/08/2023: Just wanna thank Colin and all the staff at lord Bellemys for last night. We had the afters of our child’s christening here and they put on 2 different bands so live music all night and the finger food brought out was amazing aswell. 100% recommend this place for anything

25/03/2024: Location was good and friendly staff. But that’s the only good thing. Basic food, over priced hostel quality hotel. Old spring beds, mold on the window curtain, trickle shower pressure and no fitted sheet over the mattress. The WiFi worked for 1 hour and was out the rest of the night. Terrible experience and would not recommend.

25/03/2024: Should stick to singing not cooking. Arrived at just past 8 and there were a couple of other tables being served. Ordered starters- garlic bread and garlic bread with cheese. Then 3x lasagne and chips. Starters came- 2 small slices of bread with garlic oil and the cheese on the other- no taste of garlic. Then the main came- lasagne was average at best- for a microwave meal. Then the chips- not cooked at all- for all three of us. Mentioned it and they brought another portion after about 10 mins. They were exactly the same. I asked for the bill and mentions that the chips were not cooked again. The chef said ‘well we closed 30 mins ago and I had turned the fryer off’. Shocking- worst Italian I have ever had. The waitress was pleasant. Refunded us 3.50.

05/03/2024: Some menus say "homemade chips", these were homemade, beautiful cannelloni. Lovely little spot

04/04/2024: First time here ,it's very clean,plenty of options for the kids,,Toilets are spotless and smell fresh .There is a breastfeeding area with a couch and changing place. Astro turf ,whack a mole,cafe ,nice imagination area with post office and Garda and fireman and florist. Pool table and some arcade games,huge shark bouncing castle and slide. I would recommend for a party and general kids fun,staff are friendly and approachable.Best kept and cleanest soft play area I've been too yet.Appreciate the time and dedication the owners have put in ,it's nice to see that some owners are still interested in giving people a quality area of business for themselves and the people who pay to come here with their family.Also excellent music playing.

20/03/2024: Very poor service ,very unhygienic. Girl that served us at the hot food unit had no uniform , no gloves , nails painted , no wash hand was observed from any of the staff while this visit Food was terrible also . Got a premade wrap for myself, wasn't able to eat it and to br honest feel bit sick after the bite I took . They need to improve if they want customers. Place looked very quiet. We are definitely not coming back there.

01/04/2024: There is no prince of Wales Hotel anymore, it's just a centre for asylum seekers, easy money for the owners, but the locals are missing out on another popular food and drink facility.
