11/10/2024: Nice traditional style dinner reasonable priced. The decor probably needs a bit of work but isn't that important if food is good.

03/03/2025: Die Pizza war nicht lecker, der Teig zu dick und gar nicht nach meinem Geschmack. Auch das Gemüse darauf war sehr fad, schade. Der Rotwein hat leider auch nicht geschmeckt.

09/01/2025: Our visit was ruined for 4 English people visiting Ireland by 1 man wearing a Celtic football shirt. Who on hearing my son’s accent. Started shouting sectarian comments across the bar. He was quickly shut up by the management. This has NEVER happened to us in over 40 years of visiting Athlone & hopefully was an isolated incident. Such a shame. 1 idiot ruined our visit

16/02/2025: I was wrong, I had selected another city on the click and collect, they managed to make my order for me without having to pay me again. The place is clean and super classy. The lovely staff. And then the food was excellent, the pulled pork excellent and the pistachio cookie I recommend 10000x

The waitress has a strange sense of priorities: she prefers to continue clearing glasses rather than seating or handling customers. And tourists are, of course, treated like fools, charging for bottles of water when you ask for water by the carafe.

18/03/2025: honestly struggle to give this place even 1 star, my advice avoid if coming to athlone haven't come across service and staff as unfriendly and miserable as this in a very long time. it was a busy day and we had asked for starters aswell and the man said it was too busy ..... im sorry your in the wrong profession ,turning money away but ok , the staff who served us did not smile once and when we asked for ketchup for the kids we were met with an eye roll and sigh, we genuinely couldn't believe it!! Very much did not feel welcome, the food was medicore at best, but the service was so appalling I can't believe they have repeat customers, giving Italians a bad name with there ignorance will never step foot inside it again.

26/11/2024: Actually the good thing about this is u get all the Indian spices,pulses n halal meat here....but it's so over expensive....it's 3 times the price of the product..

Our waitress Barbara was absolutely amazing and so attentive - thank you so much, delivered a fantastic customer experience. Would recommend here to anyone. 10/10 both food and service.

05/02/2025: Found the place absolutely great.. staff very helpful and friendly food top drawer and very well priced definitely worth a visit again also was able to get a pint delivered from the bar next door had the steak with salad and mozzarella potatoes Nadia was just brilliant and looked after us so well

28/01/2025: Wonderful hotel with AMAZING staff. A group of us had a wonderful stay in The Price of Wales to celebrate mid-term and meeting up after covid. We had a beautiful lunch with wonderful service from an amazing lady, we had such much fun and laughs over lunch. Later, we had a beautiful evening meal in the bar followed by cocktails. The young man working the night shift warmly welcomed us back after a few hours hanging out in the local bars. He was so friendly and helpful despite the late hour. Rooms were spotlessly clean. The shower and coffee machine were both brand new. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a central location,free parking, amazing staff. We will return. Thank you all Monica & Co

22/12/2024: We went to the Prince of Wales Hotel in downtown Niagara-On-The-Lake specifically for High Tea. We have been to many high teas in different towns and cities. The one here has to be the absolute worst!!!The smoked salmon sandwiches (not a traditional high tea sandwich) were served on stale white bread!! Actually, all the breads were not fresh, including the egg-filled croissants. The scones were dry and tasteless. I discovered a dark hair in mine so I sent it back. Apologies were given but it didn't reflect any changes to our bill, which was $55/per person. When my niece made the reservation she said that 2 of us were celebrating our birthdays. Birthday wishes were not mentioned by the server. Nothing. Shame on Prince of Wales Hotel for serving inferior high tea at a very high price.

18/01/2025: Seriously disappointed. Way over priced. Humas €9 + Tiny portion. Chicken wings €9+ 8 tiny wings. Seabas excellent Chicken was the most different meal i have ever attempted to eat. Tiny pieces of Chicken marinated in spices €20+ 2 glasses of wine drank, charging for 3. Never again guys....

15/10/2024: We went as a meat eater and a vegan and we both really enjoyed our meal. Great service and delicious food and as a vegan I had a really tasty platter with a selection of items on it. Fantastic
