02/11/2024: Me and my family went on a Monday. The food was awful, I ordered a pizza and it was undercooked just dough basically. My younger cousin got curry and it tasted like school canteen food. I got spiced chips and found a black burnt thing inside. My older cousin ordered a chicken burger and it was plain and chewy no flavour. Not worth visiting.
28/10/2024: Honestly, myself and my family were pretty disappointed with Rob's Ranch House. The food was super bland, like no flavor at all, and we ended up waiting over 35 minutes on a Monday afternoon just to get our meals( staff did apologise for the wait ) . Plus, it was freezing in the restaurant—we had to keep our coats on! Turning on the heating would be a huge improvement. Not really worth it if you’re looking for something tasty and quick.

02/11/2024: The food was amazing and huge portions, we couldnt finish it and were sorry we couldnt take the rest with us but we weren't going home afterwards. The servers were quick and very friendly. Everybody had a fabulous time. We'll definitely be back.
25/09/2024: Sophisticated food in a riverside setting. The Connemara lamb in filo pastry and risotto was a masterpiece and the fish medley was stunning too. Good sized portions. Only criticism was the very poor choice of beers. One of our best meals whilst in Athlone

12/11/2024: Got a kebab for delivery, and as usual it was delicious, plates were cleaned and the delivery was fast, no complaints at all
16/06/2024: Always visit Alfredo’s for a nice burger and chips with my son but lately the chips and burger have ended up in the bin. Burger meat 4 mm thick and hard. Chips were over cooked and dry. None of which could be eaten. Disgusting food and staff were unprofessional. Will not be returning.

05/11/2024: We didn’t stay in the room but had heard this was the best food in the area. Thank you random Irishman “you were right!” Atmosphere was pleasant and busy. Definitely an older building; they used a dumbwaiter to bring the food from the kitchen. Everything we ate or drank was delicious and filling. My wife tried different ciders and I continued my Irish whiskey drinking! If the rooms are as good as the food then next time we’ll stay here for a day!

07/09/2024: I ordered a "cornish pasty" in Walsh's. I knew immediately it wasn't the real deal because it was made with puff pastry instead of shortcrust pastry, but figured I'd go for it because it would still be tasty...how wrong I was.
The filing of a cornish pasty should be beef, potato, turnip and onion; I couldn't tell you what filling Walsh's put in their pasty, certainly not beef, I don't even think there was any kind of meat in it; it was with a flavourless, soggy mush.
I regret not complaining and asking for my money back, considering I was charged about €10 for a product that was falsly labelled and unpalatable. Very disappointing.
24/08/2024: Gorgeous food and cakes here, definitely fresh. Would return next time I am in Clifden.
One negative was their organising at busy times. There were 2 queues one for people getting stuff to take away and then further in was the queue for self serve for people who were going to sit in the cafe. Because the first queue was so busy we didnt know that there was the second queue we spent a good 10 mins in the wrong queue.
Maybe if they had an usher at the door directing people to the correct queue, or serve the take-away customers through a separate window or hatch, things would be less chaotic at busy times.
Dont let this put you off though. Just make sure that you get in the correct queue if you are sitting down.

09/11/2024: Order no. 9... After a dozen or so minutes of waiting I asked where my order 9 was... because the screen kept saying "in preparation" and not ready for collection. The man with blond hair and a strange Eastern accent very vulgarly pointed out to me that you have to listen and if you don't understand, check the status on the monitor. And that's strange. No one from the 3-person family heard the call and the status clearly showed that the order was not ready, so I don't understand the cashier's behavior. There was no salt in the bag (take away ). No straws for drinking. Not even napkins. The food was tasty but unfortunately it got cold before collection.
20/10/2024: I'm Brazilian, and due to the irresponsibility of Burger King's management for not having updated the ordering machine I had an inconvenience for not knowing how to speak his language very well, so he came to talk to me very quickly I didn't understand well and I tried to explain but he interrupted me with a rude attitude of saying that his language was English and that he didn't know my language, apparently stressed and without professionalism, I found it disrespectful to immigrants even because most consumers are actually immigrants.
