The best restaurants in Athlone

31/07/2026: I was deeply disappointed by my experience at this restaurant. As a customer, I felt I was treated differently because of my background—something I experienced as racial discrimination. Such behavior is unacceptable and has no place in any establishment open to the public. I hope management takes this situation seriously, conducts an investigation, and implements measures to ensure that all customers are treated with respect, dignity, and equality.

22/06/2026: Popped in with the family for food, after a recommendation from friends, we have fussy eaters, and my god it did not disappoint. The service was top notch, really friendly staff, and quick service. The food was gorgeous 🥰 really generous portions for both adults and kids., and so reasonable! Highly recommend the Athlone to the bone wings delicious! Cocktail menu is a bonus! Definitely will be back.

31/05/2026: Had an absolutey amazing experience on my first visit to Maisies today with my son because he recommended it. From top to bottom, the food, the staff, the drinks, the atmosphere and most importantly the customer service was top quality with a smile. It's a very welcoming place as the manager deserves enormous credit for how he greets people and his hands on approach will surely make Maisies thrive. Would definitely recommend to anybody reading, well done!

20/07/2026: Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. They understood exactly what vegan meant and were really helpful in guiding us through the menu and choosing the vegan options. Everything we had was amazing and we felt very welcome. A perfect experience from start to finish. Thank you so much!

03/06/2026: I been a customer of dominoes for a very long time, would order weekly, I have to say I never felt so awkward and uncomfortable, had a small man in glasses, maybe indian origin, not sure, but he was constantly screaming and shouting while he was making pizzas, all the other staff looked uncomfortable, there a was lady making pizza and she looked scared.. my food was done and I waited for a solid 5 minutes before I was even acknowledged and then still waited another 5 minutes before I got my food from a very respectable young man with a beard. If this is the new "normal " customer service in Athlone I will longer go there, in all my years of going dominoes I never felt so awkward

26/05/2026: I would give 0 start if it was possible. After making the other and wait for more than 1 hour past the supposed delivered time. We got a notification from Uber Eats that the restaurant will not delivery the order to our address with no reason. Then I decided to call and ask what happened with the order, they said that they did not have any control over the uber eats service delivery, so I said if I could then make the other over the phone, they say yes, of course, as soon as I finished the order I provided with my Eircode they just said, we don't delivery to that area and hanged out the call without any explanation. Most likely the worst customer service in Ireland.

23/06/2026: This is the best. We drive all the way from Galway just to eat and then get take out. It is worth the drive.

01/08/2026: Expensive spot , don't know who trains the staff, but years ago when I was there years ago they were unfriendly and years later new staff still unfriendly........😒

10/07/2026: Burgers were great. My wife said the vege burger was delicious. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

19/07/2026: I am giving 1 star and thats for the staff, who were plesent and polite. The food took over 20mins to arrive. I ordered bbq chicken salad, thats not what i got. It was precooked chicken on willtered salad and bottled bbq sauce poured all over the top of it. My son ordered bbq chicken burger with chips. The chips were soggy and tasted like old oil and the burger was again precooked chicken in a bun with bbq sauce poured on top, it wasnt even a good bbq sauce. This place would make Mcdonalds look like fine dinning. The food was shitel and thats beening kind. DONT EAT HERE.

13/07/2026: Delicious food, friendly service, indoor and outdoor seating… What more could you want? Small but perfectly formed.

18/06/2026: Stopped for a pint. Great atmosphere, friendly service, good selection.
