24/09/2026: Excellent service! The sirloin steak was delicious and cooked exactly as requested. The same goes for my husband's lamb. The dessert was very good! The atmosphere was ideal—calm and pleasant. Highly recommended!

07/10/2026: This beautiful place served the best meal I've ever had in my life. An unforgettable experience from the moment we walked through the door. Sasha was an amazing server! The food was not only a work of art but absolutely delicious! If I was at home with that stature food I would've licked the plate with no shame. Just absolutely perfect from start to finish. Get the ham hock with crispy egg, I insist!

19/07/2026: Lovely bar,lot of tourists not even drinking,service very good,music so good atmosphere hard to get a seat !! Didn't like the Guinness but that could be just me.Anyway stayed until closing drinking cider so they doing something right !!!

22/09/2026: I love my starter but I was disappointed with my main course. I asked for a spicy hot suggestion from the wok menu and the server suggested beef with oyster sauce. I don't recall this dish being hot before but still went with the waiters advice. When I got my main course, it wasn't that spicy or very hot in temperature. I did taste some of the food my family were eating and found their food nicer.

19/09/2026: I ordered the vegan thai yellow curry and it was absolutely incredible. I couldn't finish my portion and kept it in the freezer, and it was still just as good when defrosted. I ordered for collection and had someone pick it up for me, they told me the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall, an exquisite experience and I will absolutely be back to try more dishes.

07/08/2026: We were wonderfully looked after by their attentive staff. A true hidden gem in Athlone, excellent food, cannot recommend the Steak Sambo enough, for people looking for an authentic “Irish Pub” feel, this definitely meets the criteria of even the most demanding traveller. We will definitely be coming here any time we are in Athlone. Superb staff and a warm welcome anytime.

04/08/2026: We enjoyed a nice lunch at the shack pub on our way to Dublin. Lindsay, our waitress, was very friendly, warm and helpful, as was the rest of the staff we interacted with. Atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with lots of neat decor to take in. Definitely a kid friendly place. Fish (haddock) and chips were tasty and I liked that they served regular peas vs the standard mushy ones.

19/08/2026: The Bartender at Sean's Bar recommended we eat here for lunch. I am very thankful we headed his advice! The Sea Food Chowder was spot on. Irish Cheese steak had the perfect sauce to it. Best of all the service. Our waitress was really sweet, spoke with everyone at the table as if she really wanted us to be there. Sounds weird but, she had a kind heart and it showed! She checked in on us multiple times. I wish I had caught her name. I think she had an Italian accent. We spoke about our kids. She had a son, 16. She is fantastic! All the best to her!!

29/09/2026: When they said they were dog-friendly, I thought they simply meant they would let my dog in — but they went above and beyond! They offered her a bed, water, and even food. 🥹🐶 Our meal was delicious, and the staff and atmosphere were lovely as well. I don’t normally leave reviews, but this place really deserves one. We had such a great experience and would love to come back soon! 😊 Thank you <3!

15/09/2026: Today I had dinner at Spice India. A truly authentic Indian restaurant, as far as the taste is concerned. For an appetizer, I had the Onion Bhaji, fried onions, tasty but nothing special. For the main course, I had the classic Butter Chicken with Butter Naan. The sauce was very flavorful, the chicken tender and juicy. The Butter Naan was also delicious.

09/09/2026: Pizza was SO good, no complaints there. Complimentary water tho… had that full Athlone tap water metallic taste 😭 I get it, it’s free so you don’t have to drink it, but if you’re serving it, taste matters. Would be better to pour water from bottles or just skip it. Extra point for toilet sign — looks like it helps keep it clean 😅
