22/07/2025: Was at a hen in Athlone the weekend and we had finger food, was fab. Thanks also to Kevin the bar man he was so helpful and gave us great tips on where to go and what to do ❤️👯‍♀️

22/07/2025: I thought being gluten intolerant that my fish & chips days were over, then came Gertie's! The lad serving us said his brother is celiac and loves the beer battered cod, totally gluten-free and amazing. The steak and Guinness stew had lovely flavor, but it was a bit light on meat if we're being honest. Would come here once a week for the f & c if we lived here!

16/07/2025: Beautiful hotel, rooms are amazing, checking in was abit slow and we eventually got the room keys to work after 3 different sets. Thought there might be robes and slippers in the rooms to go to the spa but you can't have everything. I'll definitely be staying again and I would recommend it. Great location and value for money.

24/07/2025: Wandered into this gorgeous restaurant Tuesday this week. Before I even speak about the delicious food, I want to mention the service and the people. They were so attentive and professional, warm and kind. People make a place for me. Attention to detail has been lost in a lot of restaurants, but not this place! Everything on the menu was so appealing but we both ended up going for one of the specials of the day, the sirloin. The tastes, the sauces, the love put into the food was second to none! We had a pinot grigio and Argentinan Malbec to accompany them. My malbec was full bodied and bold, it went perfectly with my meat. We then had espresso martinis instead of desserts- again delicious! It was my mums first espresso martini and it didnt disappoint. My mother mentioned we were out celebrating and they brought down a complimentary dessert with Congratulations written on it- so kind and lovely. We were very impressed and will be back aome day

05/07/2025: For anyone traveling between Dublin and Galway / Cliffs of Moher in need of Indian / Pakistani food- this is your spot!! Excellent food and service!! Authentic butter chicken and chicken tikka and the saag paneer was exceptional. The owner was so kind as well!

22/07/2025: Athlone Towncentre is one of the best shopping centres in the Midlands. It’s clean, modern, and has a great mix of shops – from well-known brands like Zara, H&M, and M&S to lovely smaller boutiques. The layout is easy to navigate, and everything is well signposted. The staff throughout the centre, including security and cleaning teams, are always friendly and helpful. I also love that there are plenty of spots to grab a coffee or a bite to eat — The Fatted Calf nearby is a real treat if you're looking for something a bit special. There’s plenty of parking, and it's right in the town centre, so it’s very handy if you're combining your shopping with other errands. Always a pleasant visit! Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.

16/07/2025: Went for my 30th birthday meal here, they brought out a brownie and sang the happy birthday song, really lovely night. Food was perfectly cooked and service was terrific 👌 thankyou all very very much

03/07/2025: We had a very delicious dinner at the Riverview Bistro. It’s very conveniently located a few doors down from Sean’s Bar in Athlone. Very nicely decorated inside and a menu with a variety of items. Also kid friendly

27/07/2025: Exception place for food. Found this place by accident. There were 7 of us breaking up our road trip. The food was beyond our expectations, and excellent service. Would highly recommend

26/07/2025: Casual cafe feel but outstanding food. 6 for lunch today and all plates cleared. I thought it was an excellent spot. Friendly young staff. You order on your own phone from a hugely varied menu with lots of vegetarian choices. Will be back again to try more exciting options

23/07/2025: Myself and my fiance had an extremely pleasant date night here. Food cooked to perfection, impressive wine selection and the friendliest, most attentive staff. Particularly impressed with our server's knowledge and presentation of the specials menu which completely sold us on what to choose for our meals. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

12/07/2025: Absolute favorite spot in Athlone during my study abroad trip! Came in the first night on a whim, and the welcome was so warm I kept coming back over the next month. It is a smaller spot, but the atmosphere is iconic. Ann and her dogs were my home away from home during my stay.
