The best restaurants in Mullingar

19/09/2025: Ordered a doner kebab, it was small, meat not fresh, for this price you get twice as much in other take ways. I still can not get rid of this nasty after taste, avoid buying kebabs there.

09/07/2025: Ordered chicken Pizza with only smell of chicken in it. That costs 21 euros

31/08/2025: Have been here many times and could never fault them until now. 45minutes waiting for a rare steak and salmon one couple was finished eating when we arrived. Another couple came in after us and had the starter & mains before we got ours. Very disappointing won’t be back for a long time

18/08/2025: Went in on a busy Saturday evening with my girlfriend and was not disappointed! My ribeye was cooked to perfection and she had the beef cheeks which she was raving about! Delicious food, attentive staff and a lovely clean restaurant, o and its half price cocktails on a Friday!! Great job guys!

19/10/2025: Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience at Silver Oak in Mullingar. The customer service was awful – not because of the waitresses, who were polite and friendly, but because of the man standing behind the counter (I think it was the takeaway section). When we entered, he rudely waved his hand at us to move further inside, without a word. A nice waitress then approached us and led us to a small table in the corner. We had sat there before and knew it was very uncomfortable, so since there was only one other group in the restaurant, we politely asked if we could sit at another table. After a moment’s thought, the waitress agreed. However, as soon as we sat down, that same man rushed over — a rather rude, balding man of Indian appearance — and asked sharply how many people we were. When we said “two”, he pointed at the small corner table and said, “That one. This is a table for four, that one is for two.” I asked again if we could sit at the bigger table, and he repeated the same thing in a very unpleasant tone. We decided to leave. Just a few steps away, we went into another restaurant where the difference in attitude was striking — the waitress greeted us with a big smile and said we could sit anywhere we liked. It was supposed to be a belated birthday dinner for my friend, whom I rarely see, and this experience really spoiled the evening for me. I definitely won’t be going back to Silver Oak again — thankfully, Mullingar has plenty of much friendlier places to choose from.

07/06/2025: I dont usually leave bad reviews but feel like i have to this time!! Im a regular here for takeaway coffee but we decided to sit inside and enjoy a coffee. To my digust a woman with 2 dogs came into the shop and proceeded to sit down and let her 2 dogs sit up on the table and then let them drink from the small jug of milk on the table!! Totally disgusting and both staff seen this whilst passing her and said nothing. I have no problem with dogs in a shop but up on tables that people are eating and drinking from and then letting the dogs drink out of the jugs and cups, says alot about the hygiene of this place! We wont be coming back here again, we dont usually sit in as the place isnt the cleanest and tiolets filthy but this experience has sealed the deal for me and wont be back even for takeaway coffee!

28/09/2025: Food was meh. It's far from Chinese food and that's for sure. Service was good. Atmosphere felt like a library. I wouldn't return if I'm being honest.

08/09/2025: Our family has been turned away from Dolan’s Bar in Mullingar twice, and the way we were treated felt racist and deeply disrespectful. We are from the Traveller community and have dedicated our lives to celebrating Joe Dolan—even creating a headstone for our father in his honour. To be refused entry from a place carrying Joe Dolan’s name is shocking, hurtful, and shameful. This is not just bad hospitality, it is discrimination, and no family should be treated this way. We will never forget the lack of respect shown here. We don’t live in Ireland only went over to visit joes grave and the pub over all the family being big fans of him

12/10/2025: Hands down, the best Subway Sandwich quality I've had in Ireland. I am a frequent hopper to many Subway branches all over Ireland, from Dublin, Galway, Cork. Eric has never let me down, always excited to visit this Subway branch for the food quality. Eric makes the cleanest Subway Sandwiches I've ever had in Ireland.

01/08/2025: As we were in Mullingar for a few days and in search of places offering beverages and light meals, we came across Chocolate Brown. From the moment we entered the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and we were quickly seated and served. The coffees and toasted offerings were excellent and very satisfying. This establishment is definitely a pit stop above all in Mullingar. Do visit and you won't be disappointed.

08/11/2025: Ordered on just eats and suffered food poisoning from 3am to about 3pm. My wife is still feeling ill and it's been just over 24hrs! First time from this branch as all other orders were perfectly fine but it's a first and last. What goes on in there to cause food poisoning!

02/11/2025: 20 minutes to make a coffee. Food sitting ready for several minutes but no one available to serve it to customers

20/10/2025: Very disappointed with Chef kebab, ordered the pizza deal, when it came I was missing half the order, I said this to the driver who told me point blank I was wrong and that was my order, I told him to look at the receipt and pointed out exactly what was missing he then told me "the dips are in the box", again told him no I'm missing wedges, dippers and 3 drinks? He then told me that they never gave these to him and he will contact the shop, then told us another driver would be on the way with the rest of the order. 20 minutes later the second driver arrives, wedges and dippers freezing cold and again missing the drinks, said this to him and he contacted the shop to say another driver would be on the way, another 15 mins go by and the first delivery driver we had comes back and gives the drinks, giving out to my husband saying he is "only the delivery driver", when my husband didn't say anything other than open the door to him? I understand that they may be busy, I worked many years in the service industry but that is shocking and zero accountability, no apology no nothing, always loved getting a chef kebab as a treat but I think I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

10/10/2025: Food was okay as always service was terrible I waited over 30 minutes for a chicken kebab and a can of coke.

26/08/2025: The food is delicious and very well made! I haven't had Chinese food as good as this for so long in Mullingar! Of all the restaurants I've tried, this is undoubtedly the best in town, and it reminded me of a much-loved Chinese restaurant in my hometown, which was undoubtedly where you could taste real Chinese food. Congratulations to the kitchen team for making the food so well! And they deliver to Multyfarnham! Very good.

19/07/2025: Stopped here last night while passing through and got Prawn fried rice and a 4in1. Food waa beautiful. Ordered and paid online and it was ready for collection when we got there. Staff was very pleasant. Will deffs stop here again when passing through.
