The best restaurants in Mullingar

10/06/2026: Was kinda ok on the day, took us out of a hole as we were starving. Would I return? Can't in all conscience say I would. Food was pretty mediocre! Service was so so! But as I say it took us out of a hole on the day. P.

01/07/2026: Nice place to grab a coffee. Good variety of hot and cold drinks on the menu. Good for a quick bite too. The black pudding and apple sausage roll was really good and tasty. Not too oily and the pastry was fluffy and crispy. Nice seating area outside and inside. Fast efficient service and welcoming staff

15/07/2026: Great spot in the heart of Mullingar! Con’s Bar has that perfect traditional pub atmosphere warm, welcoming, and full of character. The staff were friendly and quick to serve even when it got busy, and the pint of Guinness and Bulmers was spot on. Loved the cozy, old-school interior with plenty of character; it feels like a proper local rather than a tourist trap. We popped in for a casual drink and ended up staying much longer than planned, chatting with locals and enjoying the relaxed vibe. There was a great mix of ages in, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that it got a bit crowded on the night we visited and there was a short wait at the bar, but that’s a testament to how popular the place is. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Mullingar looking for an authentic Irish pub experience. Will be back next time I’m in town!

19/06/2026: Yes the place was nice.food was good.not a cheap place but good.got a glass of house white wine it was very sour bottle was left uncapped to long.and dont advertise yous can make any cocktail yous carnt when yous dont have the ingredients to do so.but apart from that yea good spot.

23/10/2025: Upon arrival, I froze to see grubby tables mot cleared and floors under tables not addressed. I proceeded to the food on offer where 2 rather dirty teatowels lay. I left. Pity because it could be a good place.

05/10/2025: Really tasty, healthy food. We all enjoyed. Lovely staff who are flying around. Would definitely come back. We live in Navan and nothing around us like this. Highly recommend!

28/07/2026: Popped in to watch the all Ireland final. Had a pizza one for my son and one for myself, didnt have to wait too long. It was a nice pizza, tasted sweet which was a bit strange but otherwise cant fault it. The staff were lovely, polite and helpful. Had good seats and they had plenty televisions so could see the game from every part of the bar and also in the beer garden. Atmosphere was great mainly due to the mix of fans from Kerry & Mayo. Lovely place to go and relax, have a drink, cam also bring in the kiddies. Highly recommand a visit.

29/07/2026: While the food and service are excellent, the room is dark and I thought I would have to peel my shoes off the floor due to sticky goo both on the tiles going to the toilet and the carpet on the way out. It looked like food was walked into the carpet. A dreadful shame because the food offering is vast and diverse.

08/05/2026: We were celebrating today. We choose Old House by an accident. I hope God gives me more accidents like that. Food? Absolutely divine. We had salmon and beef cheek. Salmon, was made to perfection well seasoned and lovely sides. Beef cheek was absolutely mouth watering. Delicious just delicious. For the dessert we had sticky toffee pudding(whoever loves sweet go for it blindly) and chocolate brownie both desserts served with ice cream on the side. Our waiter ( and I do apologise for not remembering the name- truly) was the most kind and cheery person. A true gem to the place. Well done. Will definitely come back and recommend. Good spot in Mullingar to eat, drink and relax! Ps. Unfortunately I only have the picture of the pudding as everything was so good it disappeared faster than I could snap a shot!

19/07/2026: Was there last night 10 people an all i can say is shame on you pasta bella , the food was a disgrace , i ordered musels an they where gone off ? Sent them back , the ordered pizza for mains an i have eaten better frozen pizza , some ordered pasta an ravolli an they said it was chewy , i never write a review about any where, but felt the need to write this because what my good friend paid for that bill was a disgrace , the
