The best restaurants in Mullingar

22/07/2026: we stopped by to see the pub and the spot where niall and lewis played, and were welcomed so lovely!! the staff showed us around and gave us a little tour of all the little things there!! we got so many stickers and cards. definitely worth visiting :')

13/07/2026: We had our engagement party here and safe to say it was the best night ever. The pub itself is so cool and quirky. We had the party in the Niall Horan room which lived up to its name with the singing and dancing that followed. The Clarke family and staff couldn’t have been more friendlier and welcoming. Salt of the earth people. A gem, what a spot for a party!! 🙌🏼🥳

07/06/2026: Perfect position midway on the main street with a large free carpark at the rea. Very busy for food starting with breakfast, good menu

28/05/2026: Been here twice on a visit to friends in Mullingar from England. Its my favourite shop to visit in this great town. We're visiting again soon, cant wait 👌

20/07/2026: The cake we had was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice. But we ordered a frappe and got an iced coffee, my sister ordered a water and they forgot about it, so we had to ask another time for it, the wait wasn’t bad but it was quite long even if the shop wasn’t busy and the toilet door was stuck so my sister was stuck in there.

01/07/2026: Food was great. Generous portions. Fresh and tasty. Decaf flat white was really good too. Friendly staff with efficient service. The interior is very cosy. Would recommend and will be back for brunch

15/07/2026: The food here is absolutely delicious - genuinely the nicest you will get in Mullingar - my go to is the avocado smash on sourdough toast with bacon! It is just so delicious 🤤 V happy customer - have been sharing rave reviews with my friends and family - highly recommend!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

11/05/2026: Had a good time. The staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't realise that they only started their Al a carte service from 3. But they do carvery. Mine was delicious, I had the chicken Kiev. My boys had chips and goujons and did not like the goujons.

19/07/2026: My husband and I went to Sahara Restaurant in Mullingar for his birthday, and we had such a lovely experience. The food was absolutely amazing, everything was so fresh, delicious and full of flavour. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the evening even more special. We really enjoyed everything and will definitely be back again. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

26/05/2026: Fine traditional Irish bar, small log fire burning (a rainy day in May). Fine pint of Guinness.

24/05/2026: Lovely family run bar in lower Main Street of Buncrana Has a unique interior with every wall decorated with wine corks There’s a couple of bars inside the pub and a nice outdoor beer garden with nice flowers and shrubs They have music on weekends and we saw a couple of good singers and band grew during the night as more musicians turned up and joined them as happens in good Irish pubs open in the day till late

22/05/2026: Fantastic food & reasonably priced. Have to mention the wonderful staff member who looked after us the last 2 Thursdays we visited (approx 5pm - tall blonde hair) She is an absolute credit to herself & the Chambers, warm, welcoming, friendly, super efficient & great at her job. Nothing is too much trouble for her, she definitely deserves promotion 👏👏👏

11/04/2026: Best food, best staff and best atmosphere in the town of mullingar. So warm and inviting. Cliodna is a beautiful character (girl with blonde braids on Saturday night) dont know if i spelled her name right but she is a true asset to the buisness, shes friendly, warm and brings character and comedy to the service. She deserves a pay rise. Just saying 😆

18/06/2026: We ate here on a Wednesday in June around 5:30 PM; it was still quiet then. We drove to this restaurant because the menu offers dishes different from the standard Irish menu of burgers, fries, and steak. We stuck to just a main course this time; after eating out for 18 days in a row, you don't really feel the need for multiple courses anymore. The place looks small from the street, but it is actually very spacious. It extends 35 meters to the back. The open kitchen is located in the final section. The food was exquisite; my wife had the tortellini and I had the seafood linguini. Well-seasoned and generously filled. Great value for money. Friendly owner of a business that has been around for over 30 years.

27/05/2026: Food was ok, although portions aren't very generous for the price. First server wasn't especially friendly and got my order wrong. Second server was very nice, though. Men's bathroom was pretty nasty. The overall atmosphere is very nice, they have the American diner market cornered in Mullingar.

20/04/2026: The best cafe in mullingar so fresh and proper cupa tea on a big tea pot. Always brings me back

13/06/2026: Lunch stop on our way through town. We had chicken wraps (1 Cajun & 1 sweet and sour). They were both full with chicken and salad and very tasty. Service was lovely and very friendly, despite being quite busy.

17/02/2026: Don't go in on your own as they clearly would prefer to utilise tables than welcome all customers. They treated my daughter appallingly as she was alone, she wanted lunch and was home for Christmas. Greed at the end of the day gets you nowhere. None of us will go there now.
