26/08/2026: tremendous pastries, sourdough and coffee. my buddies and i are from new york city for 5 days and we came here 3 times. arguably one of the best sourdoughs ive ever had! would highly recommend - esp the spelt sourdough!!

21/06/2026: The hotel staff were very polite, friendly and hospitable. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and there was a great selection of food. I would recommend staying at the Old Ground Hotel!

10/08/2026: The fish soup was heavenly, the pasta with chicken was also superb, very well seasoned and cooked to perfection.... Well, that's about it, the fish was a 3+, the tortilla, as my son said, he could make better at home, and the roasted meat was good but nothing to rave about. If it weren't for the peppercorn sauce we ordered, it would have been very poor. It's a shame, because it looked really promising.

15/07/2026: Update: Really disappointed to have to update my initial review. After eating here for the 4th time and ordering the same dish “soup and sandwich” which is listed as (ALWAYS Gluten free) I was told that they would have to switch out the bread with gluten free bread. I always order it as “can I get the gluten free soup and sandwich and have never been told about the bread before. Which confused me for a menu item listed as “Always” gluten free ?? I clarified at the counter and it was confirmed that the always gluten free dish is actually only gluten free upon request which is what should actually be written on the menu. I am Coeliac and although I don’t get violently sick - eating gluten poisons my body and effects all aspects of my health for months after being glutened, it’s so hard to find places that make me feel safe to eat out and I’m just devastated to find that my favourite place has been glutening me. I cannot understand the logic behind advertising a dish as Always gluten free when half of the dish is not !! Be aware any coeliacs that might get caught out here.

21/08/2026: Such a lovely and cosy Italian restaurant. It’s small, but you feel very welcome as soon as you walk in. They open at 12, and by 12:15 the place was already almost full, which says a lot. We stopped here because we had been travelling around Ireland for several days and fancied something different. Honestly, if this restaurant were in my hometown, I would come back very often. The owners are Italian (we could hear them speaking Italian), and the pasta was some of the best we’ve had on our trip. Fresh, really tasty and clearly good quality. They also serve the pasta with bread, which was a lovely touch. A great little place if you’re looking for authentic Italian food.

21/08/2026: The people were very nice in this quaint corner restaurant. We required a “booking” but they let us sit since it was still early (5pm). That was truly gracious. In fact the place came highly recommended from other travelers. My main concern was the tasteless dishes. Both our dish had no seasonings, hence no flavor . No amount of salt or pepper could make it taste good. Sauce is the key (for me) of any pasta sauce. They saw I did not eat my dish and all they could say was Sorry 😞. I would not recommend this place to anyone who like delicious food.

16/08/2026: Wonderful and affordable Indian food. Staff were excellent especially the young man Kai. Will be visiting again, one of the premier restaurants in Ennis.

25/07/2026: **Very unprofessional service.** We were told to finish our food within 15 minutes because they were about to close. The staff also told us that all the other restaurants would be closed, so we wouldn't be able to find anywhere else to eat. We felt rushed throughout our meal, which made the experience very unpleasant. Better customer service and communication would have made a big difference.

07/08/2026: I've been there for dinner six times and have always had a great experience, even accommodating requests for non-menu items. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I can only recommend it to anyone passing through Ennis. ...I won't change my previous review; in fact, I'm returning after a year, and everything was the same as before, and that's not a bad thing. The staff is always attentive, helpful, and very courteous. The food is excellent and plentiful. I still recommend stopping by Ennis and eating here.

31/07/2026: If i could give this place 20☆ I would. Every Friday my husband and i come here for a meal, have never been let down. The staff are amazing, the craic is mighty. They always get it right. Reasonably priced, great menu, specials every week, can't go wrong
