The best restaurants in Ennis

24/01/2025: Have eaten dinner in this lovely restaurant on many occasions. Food is always delicious and wine is top class! Recently popped in with a friend for lunch and I have to say it was so good and a great price for a lovely lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed so you can enjoy your company. Staff are friendly and attentive! Highly recommend.

26/01/2025: Great place to grab a bite and coffee. Full Irish Breakfast and Pancakes deserve special mention. Very consistent, friendly and efficient staff, good value for money.

23/11/2024: The girls enjoyed their meal but the goat cheese salad was only ok. The fillet steak was well done when I asked for medium rare. It eatable but nothing special. The dessert was the best part. I loved the panna cotta.

30/01/2025: This place was recommended to me by a local friend to have a meal and catch up with another friend before a gig in the Glór and it was delicious. Portions were huge though, no way I could get through that burger (cheese and bacon burger) and most of the chips left but it wasn't from the want of trying, it was delicious. My friend had the smothered chicken and said it was fab too. Decent prices so great value for what we got.

20/01/2025: First time at Sweet and Green and honestly I wouldn't be going back. The food was mediocre at best. We were both going to get the fish but were told there was none as the fish didn't arrive that day!!! My chicken was rubbery and tough plus it was luke warm at best. The noodles were bland and the fennel was thin shavings. Very disappointed. But I ate it as I was starving because I skipped breakfast. Portion size was good, it was a pity about the blandness. Both lunches were €14 each plus the added cost of coffees and sparkling water. My friend had falafel with a poached egg. Again just okay. The coffee was weak and Luke warm and I'm a major coffee drinker so another disappointment. I have disability issues with walking. We got a couch downstairs, I'm not a fan of low seating and trying to eat when I can hardly bend so it was a challenge. I propped myself up with cushions. If I was using my wheelchair I wouldn't have had a hope in accessing this establishment so id advise all wheelchair users to avoid this establishment. It does have a "disabled" toilet but it's not suitable for a wheelchair at all. My friend I was with was disappointed as she was bringing me out. One server was very nice the other didn't even make eye contact and practically dumped the food. All in all a lack luster disappointing lunch.

17/01/2025: We went to this cafe and omg the food was sensational is all I can say. Such a lovely vibe from the staff young and seemed to be happy to be working there. A lovely young man Charlie served us our desserts with a smile.I would highly recommend this spot.

24/01/2025: Had the Nepali Thali platter. I could hear the microwave running the whole time waiting for the food. Chicken was hard and rubbery and tasted bad. Rice was pure stodge, not freshly made. Lentil curry and the 3 other vegetarian things that come on the platter were tastless and cold. 'Roti' was just a cheap wrap you'd get in a supermarket and was stale. Nearly puts his fingers into your food as he points to explain what each part is. He asked us was it alrite and we said it was cold, and he just blagged some nonsense ignoring us. BYOB but wants to charge €3 'corkage fee' even tho I had to open my bottle of beer myself with a spoon. Stomach was ropey for a couple days after it and my stomach can usually handle anything. Youd make a better curry at home out a jar. Dont let the photos fool you, it might look good but it is absolute scrap to eat and he's well able to charge for it. Don't waste your money here. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Avoid

26/01/2025: We stayed the night at the hotel as we were attending an event there. The welcome was warm. Our room was very comfortable. A great bed, walk in shower, underfloor heating in the bathroom. We enjoyed the dinner, the service was great. Breakfast was enjoyable the following morning. Hopefully we will be back. It is a central location in Ennis but the road outside was blocked with roadworks and the weather was poor and time short so we didn't venture further into Ennis.

25/01/2025: Absolutely divine pastries and coffee, we'll for sure be back again to try the sandwiches!

18/01/2025: To be honest the pastry is not great. We had maple pecan, pear almond and brioche and the dough was average not flaky not buttery - i have comparison to angel dust pastry in limerick, and compared with their crossaint which is flaky and buttery- this is simply not good enough. Eaten it all but not worth returning

04/01/2025: Lovely atmosphere, food is lovely. No vegan options on the menu, ask your server for the vegan option, they do have one available.

31/12/2024: My favourite Italian restaurant. Owned by an Italian couple. Beautiful food and wine, very efficient, professional, and friendly staff. Tables are limited, so you are best to book in advance. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.
