07/01/2026: Ordered the steak with a couple of beers to wash it down. Steak arrived fairly quick and cooked to perfection. Sides and sauce were delicious and well presented. More than enough food on the plate and the live music will a reasonably full pub made for a very good atmosphere. Great night

24/02/2026: All we heard was how friendly and warm the service was here. Well I guess the staff that provide the great and warm service were not working the evening we visited 😕

10/02/2026: Wonderful stay in the Old Ground for a family get together at the weekend. Such a warm welcoming Hotel, it has many memories over the years for our family. It has the very best location … right in the centre of Ennis so really handy for exploring the town or shopping nearby. We love the extremely cosy seating areas and the residents lounge with its squashy comfy sofas and fires always lighting . Staff so friendly and helpful. Rooms very spacious and elegantly decorated with a fabulously comfy bed . Town Hall restaurant was excellent as usual. Delicious food with a very varied menu. Natalia was wonderfully attentive and patient with our large family group so a huge thank you to her. We loved our stay.

04/02/2026: I've had the pleasure of staying there several times over the decades. The staff are always lovely, the rooms are very comfortable, though warm. Lovely bar food. I have to say though. Lads, the poached eggs. I had them last year when I stayed and the overall taste was of vinegar. I thought they may have improved this year but they were worse. There was so much vinegar it was completely inedible. My friend sitting opposite me could actually smell it. You don't need vinegar making poached eggs. Fresh eggs do the trick. Straining the eggs does too. If you MUST use vinegar, the tip is a tablespoon per litre max, and don't use malt vinegar. Vinegar should never be part of the taste profile of Eggs Hollandaise. Just call me Karen 🙂

22/12/2025: A bit on the expensive side. Scrambled egg coffee and pancakes over 30 euro Dogs are allowed in which I felt uneasy about in a small area where food is served. I went in for an irish breakfast which looked good online only to be told the menu has changed and no longer available. Unsure if I would return 7/10

11/01/2026: We have been to this restaurant many times and it has yet to let us down. Food is very nice. They have a children's menu but they also serve half portions of some main menu dishes. Service is amazing 👏. Very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Great choice of table sizes, shapes and locations. Free customer parking in the hotel adjacent. Always a great experience.

25/01/2026: Authentic cosy vibes with a diverse menu. My portion size was a little small but my wife's was ample so I guess it depends on what you order. Our bill was a (now reasonable) €40 for 2 people for drinks and food with tip.

07/01/2026: Hands down the best cafe I have ever eaten in that consistently serves delicious, fresh, high quality food suitable for vegetarians, vegans and those that enjoy meat. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and provide a first class service. This cafe is a must visit.

13/12/2025: Very good, nice christmas atmosphere, food was lovely and service very quick which is handy when we had 2 small boys with us. Kids menu available.
