The best restaurants in Clonakilty

19/07/2025: We sat at the bar, full of atmosphere and buzz. Local oysters, hake and crab claws washed down with perfectly poured Murphy’s. A proper institution and rightly so!! We’ll be back!

12/07/2025: They took great care of us in the Sugán. I had the fish pie, followed by the strawberry pavlova. All including a bunch of children, left happy.

14/06/2025: The room was dirty and there were cobwebs on the walls. The food was very good but the service and waiting time were too long. I was there several times and each time the older lady who served us tried to inflate the bill. Three times in a row they tried to cheat us on the bill. The last time I was there.

11/06/2025: I have been a regular here for years but recently the quality of the food has been very disappointing. The mains dishes have oil floating on top of them, they are absolutely tasteless and some of the dishes in our order weren't even warm. I get a takeaway here every second Friday night for years and the last 2 our family got, have been put in the bin. Never mind the 40-50min wait for out food order to be ready, Very very disappointed. It looks to me like they have started to go down the route of quantity over quality.

22/07/2025: Great pub .was in there on Monday. Lovely staff ,great food .went back on tues great staff on again .had food .it was lovely .went outside for a drink came back in was having drink when we were rather abruptly told no dogs allowed on seats.I pointed out there was no problem yesterday or today untill staff changed .I believe it was some one trying to impress her three local buddies in bar .after spending over 150 euro here in last two days .I will not be returning.This pub was ruined for us by a over zealous bar person .Her attitude was horrible.perhaps thats why there was only 3 customers there.when this person was working .As a regular visitor to clon I will not be going here again.Thank God there in plenty pubs with lovely staff.Time of arrogant, horrible staff member was 5 pm Tues 22 July 25
