The best restaurants in Clonakilty

26/05/2026: Ordered fish and chips, fish was undercooked and the chips were hard, old and stale. The waitress was miserable, didn't smile once and didn't check to see if our food was okay once. I asked for ketchup, a normal request for a fish and chips dinner, and she brought me a half-filled tiny pot of ketchup. I asked for more ketchup and she did the same again. Really disappointing meal in what is a lovely town.

01/05/2026: I can honestly say that this was one of the best seafood meals that I have ever eaten. We started with the crab claws. Amazing. Then I got the monkfish. Even more amazing. Perfectly cooked. Truly could not have been better. My wife ordered the garlic prawns which were just as delicious. This place did not disappoint in even the slightest way.

18/12/2025: Dropped off for a quick coffee. Excellent.

23/11/2025: Great stop for coffee, cake, lunch or breakfast. Plenty parking, wheelchair accessible, friendly service and good quality food and drink. We'll be back 😀

23/02/2026: Mick Finn’s in Clonakilty was absolutely fantastic for our hen party on 14th February 2026. From start to finish, the staff looked after us so well. We had two activities there, and the team were so welcoming, and helpful throughout. Nothing was too much trouble, and they really helped create a fun, relaxed atmosphere for the group. They even threw some ABBA on for us to have a dance. 10/10!! Their friendliness made such a difference and helped make the day extra special. A huge thank you to everyone at Mick Finn’s for your kindness, professionalism, and for helping us make such lovely memories. We had a brilliant time and would highly recommend Mick Finn’s for any group celebration or even to pop in for a drink - the staff are brilliant and up for the craic!

11/09/2025: Friendly bar with a chatty bunch of locals. Dosent look like a place for food but I was i pleasantly surprised. Ordered fish and chips. Big white leafy flakes of fresh fish in delicious batter. Chips were good but the atmosphere was great. Id recommend it for food & drink.

06/10/2025: We had a BBQ for our wedding day 2 at the Alley Garden in August and our 75 guests were delighted. Super friendly staff and lovely beer garden to enjoy some fresh air, great for live music too (we had some trad going on). Food was simple yet tasty and buffet style was efficient. We had brought in some of our wedding decoration and it made the place really cosy. Thanks Keith & team for the service!

24/04/2026: Well now, where will I start, maybe the Korean BBQ wings, the only thing Korean about it was the word on the menu that spelled"Korean" the wedges with Swiss cheese were an experience I'm happy to forget, the best thing about it was the exit door, I'll go around the corner to oakfire its mediocre but definitely better, the girls behind the counter look tired and fed up,

28/12/2025: These pizzas are seriously good. It’s real pizza dough, not that cardboard stuff. The flavours are delicious, I can highly recommend them.

01/09/2025: Went to see a Saturday evening session. Music was average but the audience of 60 and 70 somethings nursing their Seven Ups all night seem to be hell bent on spoiling the younger peoples' night out with their glaring and hushing. Its an Irish pub for goodness sake. If you want to listen to music in silence spend a few Euro and go to the Opera. House. The manageress who seemed to support this nonsense seemed to be trying to deliver the impossible for zero financial benefit.

20/05/2026: I love House Special with Sechuan sauce and rice :) Food and customer service are great.

07/02/2026: Got a take away. First time using this place. They forgot a dish in our order,which is ok it happens so we told them at the desk. However pretty rude response. Just told we had to pay full price for the dish they forgot. No wait time given barely an apology or thank you. No offer or price reduction for their mistake. We drove 20 minutes in for it. Young girl on front of house crap attitude no smile, just rude surly. Won't be returning.

01/05/2026: My toddler is very fussy but adores the spaghetti bolognese here. And the vegetable pasta bake is to die for! Affordable, no-fuss homemade food (unlike so many where the food is brought in half prepared already). There are very few family run hotels with old-style bars left but this fits the bill. It’s a heritage experience even being in here having a drink.

09/02/2026: Had the fish and chips. COD was old haddock ( not especially fresh).. & chips but no veg or salad. Very cheap at 19 euro but I’d have preferred to pay more to be able to eat it….

21/03/2026: Worst place order food waiting over an hrs then they ring u to meet them beyond the place u ordered from after ordering delivery food cold when u get it never again

27/04/2026: Was out on a walk when I stumbled passed this little chipper and was I happy I did! The service was lovely and the food was delicious! Will definitely come back. They also take card!
