02/08/2026: The plane had to return to Helsinki because of a technical problem. No assistance. On arrival in Dublin I waited for the assisted travel help but none arrived. Getting to the airport with a heavy bag was a nightmare, there was so many steps up & down.

10/07/2026: I have passed by this place for many years, and finally had the pleasure of going in on a family occasion. The food was fantastic and the staff could not be nicer. I will be making more trips to here.

04/05/2026: My anniversary date restaurant, always order the crispy won tons and crispy duck, can't be beaten, staff always lovely, prices have increased over the past 2 years dramatically!

25/05/2026: We booked our engagement party at The Betsy in Swords and unfortunately the entire experience was stressful from beginning to end. When we first visited the venue, the manager clearly told us that we could bring decorations, sweets and even a few bottles of prosecco for a toast. However, when I later emailed to confirm everything in writing, Caroline replied saying that prosecco was not allowed and that parts of our decoration setup were also not allowed. We returned to the venue to clarify things and honestly, that should have been the moment we cancelled. The same manager became extremely passive aggressive and unhelpful. Unfortunately, invitations had already been sent and we were already under pressure trying to organise everything, so we just accepted the changes and moved forward after finally getting approval for our save-the-date decoration setup. Sadly, the actual party was even worse. We booked “Betsy Below” because we were specifically told there would be background music until the DJ arrived later, which sounded perfect for an engagement party where people could eat, talk and socialise comfortably. Instead, when we arrived at 7:10pm, the music was unbelievably loud — louder than many nightclubs. Nobody could properly speak to each other. We had around 70 guests sharing the space with another smaller party, and many people were visibly uncomfortable because of the volume. I politely asked the barman if the music could be lowered slightly just until the food service or DJ started. His response was incredibly rude. He refused immediately and said, “This is not a private party.” That response was unnecessary and unprofessional, especially considering that the majority of people in that area were our guests. To make things worse, none of the decorations or sweets had been set up, despite being told beforehand that the staff would handle the setup if we delivered everything earlier in the day. When we arrived, everything was still sitting inside boxes. Overall, the customer service was honestly shocking: poor communication, rude staff, lack of organisation and zero care for the client experience. Do not be fooled by how aesthetically nice the venue looks online or in person. The venue may look beautiful, but when it comes to customer care, professionalism and organisation, the experience was extremely disappointing. If you are planning any important event there, make sure EVERYTHING is confirmed in writing beforehand

31/07/2026: A real gem in Swords, we meet for brunch. Pros, food good, great selection, service good, prices reasonable, can reserve a table for a group. Why not try it out. Staff are always helpful, they have high chairs for toddlers. Cons.....

23/07/2026: There are two types of cafés. The first has chalkboards, artisan coffee and sandwiches so small you'd need a magnifying glass to find the filling. The second is run by people who actually care about feeding you. The Cottage in Swords falls firmly into the second camp. My father had just landed, I'd collected him from the airport, and the pair of us were absolutely starving. We arrived with about ten minutes before closing, fully expecting to be told, "Sorry, kitchen's closed." Instead, the owners welcomed us in with a smile, told us to sit down and never once made us feel like we were keeping them from going home. While we waited, we got chatting. They spoke openly about how difficult it has become to run a small business when you're buying proper Irish chicken, decent butter and quality ingredients that seem to go up in price every other week. You could tell this wasn't just another café to them. It was personal. Then the club sandwich arrived. Now, a club sandwich shouldn't be difficult. Bread. Chicken. Bacon. Lettuce. Tomato. Yet so many places still manage to make a complete mess of it. Not here. Everything tasted fresh. The chicken actually tasted like chicken, the bacon was perfectly cooked, and every ingredient had a purpose. It wasn't piled high for Instagram. It was simply made properly. What I like to call "made with love." No shortcuts. No corners cut. Just an honest, ridiculously good sandwich. Sometimes it's the places you stumble across by accident that leave the biggest impression. If you're looking for breakfast, brunch or just one of the best sandwiches you'll find in Swords, The Cottage deserves to be on your list. And to the owners, thank you for staying open that little bit longer and reminding me that great hospitality costs nothing... but it means everything.

26/07/2026: The place is beautiful and peaceful. We had a great time. The drinks were delicious. However, I ordered a drink with oat milk, but it came with regular milk. I didn't notice right away. I felt really sick all day and had a stomach ache.

13/08/2026: On a quiet Thursday afternoon, two of us sat outside in the empty beer garden and ordered a pint each. When the server arrived with our drinks, we were told that they do not serve customers accompanied by dogs—even when seated outside. Very disappointing and a shame for such a central location. So, very much NOT dog friendly.

08/08/2026: Parking is difficult, if not nonexistent. Be careful, you can get a ticket outside the parking area as everything is pay-and-display. It's all mixed together: hotel, pub, and restaurant. Very noisy in the evening. Not ideal when you have a flight the next day. The only advantage of this hotel is the elevator platform; be careful, the floor is unstable. Have it checked.

22/03/2026: Gorgeous food, seem to have a new menu now and it was amazing. Got the chicken pot pie and the roast dinner, sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding and it was all amazing. Probably the nicest bread and butter pudding I've had. Staff are lovely too.

27/06/2026: 4.30 today 18 people 2 with autisim some of the setteld comunity and fue from the traveller comunity were out with the kids today walked in was greeted by the first pearson who was organising tabes for us then the owner showed up and told us to get out screaming at us and not 1 pearson in the place with a attitued like the this place wont last long heard its declined badley in the last couple years .wont be back

10/07/2026: It’s usually a hang out area with me and my friends, and for good reason! It’s a clean, lively and happy place. The food is fresh, tastes good and the atmosphere is great!

04/07/2026: I came here on the 4th of July expecting a good experience, but unfortunately I left feeling really disappointed and angry. I understand that restaurants get busy, but the customer service was outrageous. The staff were openly showing their frustration, and it came across in the way they treated us. They were very passive-aggressive, which made us feel unwelcome. There was a clear lack of communication and teamwork between the staff. We were left waiting for over 30 minutes, only to not even be seated at a table. No one kept us updated or explained what was happening. I came in happy and left so mad. I genuinely expected much better service than this. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I would rate the service 0/10.

27/06/2026: While this restaurant is great and take out service is great there is one thing which annoys me .when ordering online , not sure about eat in z Panda changes you the 'return' fee on all cans of soft drinks . Yet another order picked up after being charged the fee but it's a UK can ! One can only assume they are pocketing the fee .. Really panda , is 15cent the difference between profit or loss? Embarrassing Food , service is always great but the penny pinching is annoying
