14/12/2025: A disappointing second visit. After a fabulous first visit, I booked The Gourmet Food Parlour in Swords again for brunch. Starting with the positives, this is a beautiful space, with lovely decor, ample parking outside and along the street and the food is absolutely gorgeous. However yesterday the service was poor. We gave our order and nobody came back to us until the end when the table was being cleared. We had to call staff to ask for a jug of water, for more drinks, and for the bill at the end. There were quite a few empty tables, so it wasn't as if it was just very busy and that there weren't enough staff. The cocktails are limited, and not tasty so I opted for a failsafe glass of prosecco after the first cocktail. My daughter had the tropical smoothie which tasted like a glass of coconut milk, this was removed from the bill. This was a frustrating visit and I would be hesitant about re-visiting again due to the poor service.

26/11/2025: The food is terrible, Pancakes were reheated in the microwave and weren't homemade, but for the price-they should be. I do Not recommend.

18/10/2025: Absolutely love this place. Have been coming here for years! The staff, the food, the atmosphere are always so good. Delighted too that Swords cafe are now open on Sundays. We used to drive to the sister cafe in the Naul (also an amazing spot) because we love it so much

03/11/2025: We had a family celebration in The Wine House recently. The food was excellect and plenty of it. Staff were efficient and professional. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Would definitely go back.

27/10/2025: We had a very nice evening for a birthday party! Food was delicious, portions are huge, and staff were friendly and helpful. Our recommendation for a nice dinner 🤩

22/11/2025: I want management to know my wife & I were bothered by a security guard to see if we were gonna leave our table soon. We ordered 2 dishes from food menu and 4 pints, our next pint was due and we were we sitting for the waitress to bring it. The Irish rugby game wasn't yet over. I felt like us holding hands was an issue. Perhaps not but we were the only couple bothered despite us patronising the place! I had been here with family the night before for my birthday party. I am so disappointed we won't be back unless we are assured this won't happen again or explanation offered

11/11/2025: Very nice to see someware busy and full of life, you could find somewere to chat&drink / sit and quick bar service woud reccomend and go back again!

16/11/2025: Best sushi and Japanese restaurant in the Swords area. It's small and usually requires booking but we have been lucky and walked in a few time. The food is amazing and great value. Service is very good and attentive to anything you may need.

15/11/2025: I tried the prawn green curry, beef muddles, chicken satay, and fried prawns, and I found the food really excellent. I don’t eat Chinese food often, but everything was very tasty and fresh. Highly recommend this place! I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but this is my honest experience.

08/11/2025: The food here so consistent. Breakfast is great and the selection is great to choose from. Its December 2017 and the service is fab The new Manager Nicole knows what great service is it comes natural. Bar Manager Dennis is sound Darren the barman is very professional. Christine great with customers gone Now Lovely girl A credit to the oldborough. 100% Nice selection of beers try the Devils Backbone. Food and service here is great. A great starting place. Let's not forget the chef and kitchen staff waitress and waiters. A nice friendly atmosphere here. Amy and all the guys Well done to all the staff. 08/11/2025: Very less staff on the counter always slow and they don’t care much if customers are waiting when food and drinks are ordered on the app they don’t even bring the drink on time all the ice gets melted and the drink doesn’t even taste good… very bad service

18/11/2025: Very friendly staff, and wonderful food. The kids love the pancakes. The sausages on the full Irish, and in the breakfast roll are possibly the best I've ever had! The spicy chicken wrap is my fave.

Treacey and Phil are very good and very peronable at there job. The new chef Andrea has big shoes to fill with Peter gone. Great steak first class. New menu coming soon. Tom the barman is proffessional Very professional barmen so personalable and professional This place is a casual place and great for watching sports. Food is first class the service . Tracey works hard because she expects high standards. Getting busier because of its popularity. Special every day on the food. 19/12/2024: We had our Christmas party for the 3rd time there! Food was good as always, but the music wasn't as good as previous years, and one of the bartenders had a bit of an attitude at some point! Overall it was a good experience, and we are looking forward to finding out what's coming next year! P.S.: Ruaidhri was there for us every year for our Christmas parties, making sure that we are having the best experience, so we do hope that we will see him there again in the new wrights adventure!

14/12/2024: Worst place to spend time in Swords

12/12/2025: We chose Premier Inn because it was reasonably priced and close to the airport. We arrived late and headed up to our room only to discover that they were more like offices than rooms. Bare walls and a bed. Whatever though, we just needed a place to bathe and sleep before our early flight the next day. The shower though was clogged, we could only run the water for 2-3 minutes before the basin filled and overflowed onto the floor. It took another ~15 min to drain sufficiently that the next person could shower. The mattresses were hard but there was an unexpected trundle bed in the corner for some reason that we did not ask for, so at least there were options? In the morning when we checked out the front desk couldnt be bothered to look up from their work when we asked where the airport shuttle was, they just miserably pointed at one of the two entrances. The shuttle, which was mentioned in the listing was not complimentary. We had to pay €3 each to ride. Thats not a huge amount but when they make a point of mentioning it, you expect it to be included. There was no signage or warning that we would have to pay, I only found out when I tried to board. I guess you get what you pay for… do yourself a favor and spend the extra €20-50 to stay somewhere else.

11/10/2025: More interested in kicking us out than serving us. While we appreciate that the staff need to go home, being told the second you walk in at 8:45 they close at 10 then reminded every ten minutes is pretty poor tbh.

11/10/2025: Amazing service from our waitress, Sabrina Veríssimo. It was our first visit to the restaurant, and she was very patient explaining the dishes and very kind to our children.
