Dax
Dublin
31/10/2024: Outstanding food and excellent service at lunch -my wife has food /allergies and preferences that were not catered for in starter choices -asked for plain salad and instantly offered starter of heritage tomato /mozzarella from dinner menu.
Food was uniformly good I had stuffed courgette flower with lobster/prawn mousse -worth every penny of 6.59 supplement !
We will be back !
27/10/2024: An Unparalleled Experience of Elegance and Excellence
DAX Restaurant is simply exceptional. Refined and elegant, this venue truly embodies culinary excellence. Every detail is meticulously curated, making the experience far more than just a meal.
The entire staff was outstanding, but a special thank you goes to Massimo, our waiter, who elevated our evening to unforgettable heights. With exceptional professionalism, he guided us through a culinary journey, pairing exquisite dishes with wines from across Europe. The foie gras was, without a doubt, the best I have ever tasted.
Heartfelt thanks to Massimo and the whole DAX team for making our anniversary a treasured memory. Highly recommended to anyone seeking the best!

Pearl Brasserie
Dublin
07/11/2024: Small intimate rooms plus a charming team of French ladies providing service and add to this beautifully prepared food and you have a superb dining experience.
My wife and I went here for lunch. We each had just a main course but both were faultless: she roast chicken (how do the French do this SO well?) and I a lovely portion of bream fish. From their excellent wine list we chose just to have a glass of one of their house Chardonnays and it too was great. At 95 euros it wasn't inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for and we felt that all things considered it was fair value.
And the best measure of a good experience: we would go back in a heartbeat!
18/10/2024: Best dining experience I’ve ever had!

Chez Max
Dublin
14/11/2024: During the Summer, we had a wonderful experience in my favourite French style Bistro, Chez Max. We were impressed with everything from start to finish. On arrival, we were warmly greeted by friendly staff and service was prompt and efficient. The dining area is both cosy and inviting and the food is superb. I thoroughly enjoyed French onion soup, Rib Eye steak and Creme Brulee but there is a dish for every taste.
Attention is paid to even the smallest of details and we left both satisfied and content. We will most definitely return again very soon.
12/11/2024: Such an amazing experience and food at Chez Mix. Beautiful atmosphere.

l'Gueuleton
Dublin
07/11/2024: French Irish place with the best of both worlds
Imagine French cuisine but without French service or hautainesse and think Irish cuisine but with a bit more French ingredients and subtleties and youngster l’Geuleton
We went for brunch on a Saturday and were surprised it wasn’t more packed, all the dishes were great same for drinks and atmosphere
Again imagine an Irish pub with Irish waiters except it serves food from the French coast except the size portions are Irish again
02/11/2024: I recently visited Igueuleton to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, perfect for special occasions, and most of the staff seemed friendly at first. However, my experience with the food and service left much to be desired.
I ordered the gnocchi, and unfortunately, it was inedible due to an overwhelming amount of salt. Mistakes happen, and I understand that, but what was disappointing was the lack of follow-up. After serving our dishes, the waiter never returned to check if we were satisfied. As my friends finished eating, my untouched plate sat in front of me, clearly signaling a problem. When the waiter finally came to clear our plates, they didn’t ask about my full, uneaten dish or whether anything was wrong.
Paying 27 euros for a dish I couldn’t eat felt frustrating, especially without the opportunity to address the issue. I’d suggest that the staff receive additional training on customer service, as it seemed they weren’t attentive to guests' dining experiences. A simple check-in would have allowed the restaurant a chance to make amends, but unfortunately, they missed the opportunity. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return.

Le Petit Breton
Dublin
04/11/2024: A nice surprise to find an actual French menu.
20/10/2024: I went here recently with my special needs class and it was fantastic. I let the staff know we were coming the next morning and as we were group of about 14. They had arranged the tables to facilitate us. The café itself is very small so I really appreciated that they had prepared for us.
The menu is really good and the crepes with just sugar or chocolate are under 10 euros which is great for children who aren't spending too much. The staff were super friendly and patient with my students so they had really nice experience. The food is excellent.
It's a very small café so it isn't really wheelchair accessible and it has a step to get into the café. The toilet is down a stairs. Honestly it would be great if it was a little more wheelchair friendly as my class had such a wonderful French breakfast. Thanks for the experience.

The Green Hen
Dublin
13/10/2024: DON'T GO UPSTAIRS!!!!!
I've always been a fan. Every time I've visited downstairs I've been delighted with the experience. Tonight I brought a group of visiting work colleagues and sat upstairs. Everyone was looking forward to the visit. The food was excellent. The service was not up to scratch. It took ages for everything to arrive. Drinks were forgotten. We felt forgotten for quite a while. I was disappointed and, as the one who made the booking, embarrassed.
-----
A little more than a year later I returned. A friend booked a table upstairs for a small group. The service this time was a bit better but everyone's food was cold on arrival. I had beef cheek which was otherwise very good, but it was cold. The person who carried it upstairs knew it was cold. Another disappointment.
11/10/2024: The restaurant was amazing, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great. There was an amazing waiter, David, who made it a whole experience. He was very kind and recommended us many places to visit in Dublin. Would 100% recommend!

Bresson
Dublin
26/10/2024: Food was OK but nothing special, it’s a nice restaurant space located in the centre of monkstown village, but the athmosphere and staff lack the finesse required to elevate to of a fine dining restaurant. More so a family brasserie.
The French onion soup was disappointing, based on a beef consumme, the onion was was a dark stewed consistency.. I’ve had countless onion soups, it wouldnt rank favourably. The veal was good- tender and cooked well. My colleagues had the duck which they loved , but the real disappointment was the apple tart tatin… basically stewed apple, with a caramel type sauce, no pastry to speak off. Hard chunks… really not good, we left it behind after 1x taste. The pastry chef really needs a refresher course…
The main waitress was a nice person and chatty , but there we were more often topping up the wine despite 4x staff passing by our table every minute. Just lacking attention to detail I’m afraid. Appreciate it’s a hard time for restaurants but good service costs nothing.
€550+ bill for 4x incl winen& tip.
t thet level of spend, it’s an OK-ish from me..

Roly's Bistro
Dublin
10/11/2024: It really was average. I got the rib eye which was a poor cut plus chips. The chips were bought in and there was no onions or mushrooms with the steak. We had 6 at the table and everyone was dissatisfied
10/11/2024: Lovely food, the desserts were incredible. Customer service exceptional. I left my bag in the restaurant and the lovely staff member hand delivered it to my hotel. Thanks so much

21/08/2024: We were celebrating a birthday in la cave restaurant and had the most wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent we had goats cheese which was amazing and a great ravioli. Our waiter long was so helpful with his food and wine recommendations. The decor is fantastic and the ambience was relaxed. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back
19/05/2024: What an experience! The best meal I've had since I can remember. Excellent food, excellent wines, excellent service - I can't recommend it enough. And if you make it to the early bird service, it is ridiculously affordable for such a fantastic meal.

Le Perroquet
Dublin
18/09/2024: Used to go here for the best quality. classic French style pastries and was happy to pay a premium. The crispiness and freshness of the pastry was the best in Dublin. Not anymore - I suspect they're now buying in the same super-sized rubbish one sees all over Dublin and the just baked freshness and quality gone out the window. Never again thanks.......
13/08/2024: Can't speak for the other dishes but avoid the fry, really not up to any standard, greasy and tasteless. Disappointing.
