The best restaurants in Galway

12/11/2024: We ordered caramel frappe but didn’t quite like the taste of it if I compare to what I had at costa coffee. While the other desserts were quite great in taste like the carrot cake or brownies! I alao got a chance to have one of mocha beans new dish at Christmas market which I would really like to talk about and recommend to you all. Its the chimney cake comes with different flavours nutella, apple strudel, brownie and more😍 Wow worth to have!!

08/10/2024: Very disappointed with the service received in Synge & Byrne Knocknacarra today. I’m a regular customer here and I’ve always found the staff fantastic. I have the same order each time I come in. Today I was served by the young girl of African descent. I went to order a chicken chipotle ciabatta which was the last one. She took it away as I was ordering and left it on the counter behind her. I asked her if there was any left which she checked under the counter and there wasn’t. I heard a couple behind me laughing and after I walked away to pay for another sandwich the girl that served me was also laughing with the couple that were originally behind me. It turns out, they’re all friends or relatives. She actually gave the girl behind me the sandwich I wanted to order although I was there before her. I’ve never saw a girl so unprofessional, when she saw there was only one sandwich left she kept it for her friend/relative that was not at the top of the queue yet. Please give this girl more training as she desperately needs it.

03/10/2024: Wet toast sitting in undercooked poached eggs water and a coffee that cost €3.50 and drunk in two mouthfuls. There are unfortunately few other alternatives for a coffee and breakie locally. Has potential to be a great wee place *update: it’s now €3.90 for a coffee!!! 40cent more in less than 2 years 🤯

09/10/2024: this restaurant is garbage, they somehow messed up a simple order for a burger with extra pickles, giving me a two patty plain burger and soggy fries. don’t go here unless your a fan of bad food.

20/09/2024: Coffee was delicious, staff friendly. Only the cake is overpriced and unfortunately doesn't taste good...

20/09/2024: Coffee is grand, rest is rubbish. Cake tastes awfully and is far too expensive. (6Euro piece) Service boring Scenery on the street is probably the best you can enjoy

02/09/2024: Had a lovely family dinner (7 adults) there last Saturday (31st Aug). The food was beautiful. However, one of my sons complained that his roast beef was tough and burnt, resulting in that, he couldn't finish it. No server even asked us how our meal was :-(

04/08/2024: Food was okay. The all Ireland ladies final was on, the barman turned it off with 5 minutes to go and wouldn’t change it back when asked despite majority of people watching it. Atmosphere went downhill from there. Very disappointing experience.

25/09/2024: Went last week deverla was so lovely really helpful meal was very nice too but it was a biy expensive but I recommend.

10/07/2024: I had my 30th birthday in Queen Street Galway (Victoria Hotel) last weekend and it was amazing. They were all very accommodating in regards to letting my sister bring in balloons and a balloon arch! They food was absolutely gorgeous letting us chose our own menu, the cocktails were delicious and all the staff were so so nice I had the best birthday ever🙂

02/11/2024: Always a great pint and love the Guinness served in a nonic glass. Proper local boozer, no frills, just great service and fine pints. Guinness sets you back €5.20 and Heineken €5.80, good prices for Galway these days. A great spot.

08/10/2024: I've been to kebab houses in Europe and Capital in Galway fits the bill. Sometimes, you just want some comfort food and what's more comfort food than meat sliced from a doner in a pita with veggies and a side of fries? Ordering was a bit of a challenge as the young lady behind the counter speaks English and I speak American but we were able to make it go. I ordered a kebab with all the fixings and spicy garlic. It did end up taking about 15 minutes for delivery to the table but it was hot. The pita bread seemed fresh and certainly the fries were just out of the fryer. Loaded enough it took some fork work to get it to a point it could be picked up. Fresh food, a good portion, a reasonable price. It's about as local as it gets!

29/09/2024: We were 3 friends visited Galway and we had a bad experience from that shop. There was two boy and a girl working on that time. The girl was very nice and polite but the other two lads was angry and unfriendly. Nobody expect that kind of service in my opinion. Food quality was good environment was good as well but the service makes me very anxious. Therefore, i will not recommend this resturant to any of my friends.

14/09/2024: Friendly, fast, and yummy. Very reasonable. Most of their business is takeaway, but they have a couple of tables to eat there. Open late.

17/10/2024: The staff just stand and ignore you while you’re waiting to order i was standing there 10 minutes waiting and they just ignored me and continued making orders even though there was 3 of them

04/06/2024: Wasn’t happy at all with the chicken and mango salad - first of all the chicken was cold, and it tasted like pre-packed chicken from Tesco with goujon seasoning. The salad itself was drenched in sauce, to the extend that the whole salad was dripping in oil. Was so disappointed!
