The best restaurants in Galway

01/06/2024: Absolutely shocking they are only out to scam people that are out drinking for money. Stayed in Galway, ordered food to be delivered to hotel, food was missing from order and drinks were wrong. It cost €30 for a 12inch pizza and 2 overcooked pieces of garlic bread and 2 drinks! Pizza was also extremely overcooked! Avoid even if desperate

21/11/2024: We had a great time during our stay! The receptionist was very welcoming and showed us around upon arrival. We were so excited to see the kind surprise left for us when we returned to our room later that day. Breakfast was excellent as was the service provided. At checkout, the receptionist ordered us a taxi to the train station. Unfortunately there were many delays due to the snow but the concierge was so kind and drove us to the train station so we didn’t miss our train. I’ve never had such amazing service as we did at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. I wish I could remember all of the staff’s names to thank them for their excellent service.

31/10/2024: We went in here for breakfast and seen couples not looking too pleased. Realised when breakfast (two poached eggs) took over 40 minutes why they were so displeased. Food was delivered really late and lukewarm. Nothing special to write about. The service was atrocious, especially the bus boy who sprayed tables and then walked away without wiping or hitting the young child in the head with the plate. Observed at least two tables complain in the hour we were here. Will not be back. Please avoid.

22/10/2024: Thank you for the delicious coffee, croissant and good service! ☀️ By the way, great price for coffee and croissant in the morning! I paid only 4 euros for the whole thing. 😺 Thank you! 🥐☕

08/05/2024: Brought my 2 boys for haircuts here today. €38 euro and honestly I could have done a better job myself. Absolutely shocking considering price charged. One seriously unmotivated member of staff seemed to enjoy leaving you waiting unnecessarily despite being well after appointment time. Owner to be fair has put considerable effort into the decor and atmosphere of the place but needs to do same with his staff based on my experience.

19/09/2024: Spoke to Martin! This is in no way a friendly bar if you’re from the UK! Give this place a miss if I were you, there are far more friendlier bars in Salthill & Galway to try! This guy clearly doesn’t like the English.

11/10/2024: I should have believed the reviews. Very very poor service, okay/overpriced food. Ordered a glass of Whiskey. Waited 25 minutes. Politely asked the waitress about it. She rudely says "he's working on it" and rushed away as if I was the most difficult customer in the world. okay, no problem. Wait another 10 minutes. I go up to the bar and ask another server about it. He agrees that she probably forgot, he'll take care of it. I wait another 5 minutes. No drink. Original server comes over and asks if we're all set for the bill. They eventually come over with the drink at the same time as the bill, 40 minutes late, after giving me a rude attitude for asking about it, and making me ask for it 3 times. I've never had such poor service in my life. And what's worse is being completely dismissed when I KNEW I was forgotten about. Mistakes happen, not the first time a server has missed an order, but to blow me off 3 times and to make me wait 40 minutes to pour a shot of whiskey into a glass is absurd. I can understand being "stretched thin" by bad management who doesn't want to employ enough staff, but when a customer makes you aware of an issue 3 times, MAKE IT RIGHT.

03/10/2024: I got the seabass and it was super tasty! Was a lunch portion so a bit overpriced for the size but really good. Great view from the restaurant too.

10/09/2024: Absolutely lovely food great service from front of house Jessica !!, reasonably priced menu , great mixed chow mein , lovely satay sauce , great crispy shredded chicken, highly recommend! Won’t find better in Galway

15/09/2024: We were greeted by the blonde girleen Laoise on our trip to Galway at Fibber McGees and what a treat she was! She poured us the perfect pint too, great sense of humour and really made our trip! Can’t fault anything on our visit😊 Can’t wait to come back next year!😊

09/04/2024: Très agréable petit café. Service très souriant. Très cosy ! Ça change des grandes chaînes... Dans une petite ruelle sympa et calme.

02/03/2024: Naw. Got a coffee and a tea here, not a very clean place. Tea mug had a big chip out of the rim, coffee was ok but not very hot. Not a great spot. Staff seemed very stressed out.

21/09/2024: Hygiene training is badly needed. Same cloth for everything. Wiping ketchup and pizza sauce into the table does not equal cleaning. Delivering food to tables after cleaning surfaces with the same gloves on is a filthy practice. I ask myself what way your food is prepared.

02/11/2024: Pasta was great but service was pretty dismal. Had to follow up multiple times for a bunch of things including the basics like water. Was oversold on certain dishes re quantities and had to escalate it multiple times to 3 different staff. To their credit they didn’t charge for the extra that were eventually brought. Might be a matter of staff getting frazzled or having a bad day in busy periods.

30/10/2024: I just enjoyed an incredible dinner at Magnettis! I ordered the Diavola, and it was exceptional—the fresh ingredients truly showcased the care put into each dish. Our host, Karina, created a warm and inviting atmosphere with her friendly demeanor and great sense of humor. I wholeheartedly recommend Magnettis to anyone looking for an authentic Italian dining experience in Galway! 5 out of 5 stars!

24/10/2024: Extremely kind and helpful staff. They were very nice and eager to help. The beds were nice and comfortable with down pillows and down blankets. Will definitely be staying again!
