The best restaurants in Galway

02/04/2025: This hotel is a great location especially for the price. It fit our needs perfectly. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Close to the train station and the square, within walking distance to shops and Latin Quarter. We paid for the breakfast one morning and it was okay. Found other breakfasts we liked better for about the samw price and other days we just didn't need as much so we went to other cafes for smaller meals at a lower cost.

27/03/2025: Clean and respectable hotel in the heart of Galway city. The location doesn’t get better. Some of restaurant and bar staff need a bit of training in hospitality, not very accommodating or friendly.

13/04/2025: Loved the possibility to attend Irish and European dance classes in this bar! Truly a refreshing opportunity with lots of fun and learning. The staff and dance instructors are friendly, welcoming and nice.

17/03/2025: I went to Kennedy's for an event last night and can confidently say I will never return. The bouncers were extremely homophobic to my friend and shouted “sick” at them as we left as they didn’t dress like every man in Ireland does. Gross, disgusting man. I also rang today to ask if a passport had been handed in and the rudest women barked back at me to tell me they wouldn’t bother checking until tomorrow. It’s St. Patrick’s day so I get how busy they must be but the tone was aggressive and unnecessary. Hard avoid if possible.

08/04/2025: I have the best time in supermacs, especially after a night out. A man named Armando works in this restaurant and he is a gent. He sorts you out whenever you need it and he is quick with his work. Every time i come in to this restaurant i expect to be fed and the food is beautiful. A large portion is actually a large portion and not a smaller portion. You get what you ask for and it unreal. Before i finish, i just want to let you know, Armando that works in supermacs is a man that will always approach you with a smile and is always interested with any news on a night out. Great man and I hope he is successful. Godbless

21/05/2025: I had a very disappointing experience at the Dean Hotel in Galway. The meal I was served last night was both cold and overcooked, which completely ruined the dining experience. On top of that, the service was incredibly slow — it took far too long to get anyone’s attention, and the overall wait time for food was unacceptable. For a hotel of this standard, I expected much better. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning based on this experience.

03/06/2025: I’ve been there as a delivery rider and tbh they don’t care about riders and u all know that how hard is it especially in rain to deliver an order to customers 😢 I’m extremely disappointed from the poor support for riders 🙏

15/05/2025: Very tasty good food and they are not like other fast food restaurants. Their ingredients are really high quality. The size of food for one person is almost like for two which is really good. I love the taste. Really you must try it.

25/04/2025: Great spot for chips and battered sausage on late night in Galways West End after a pub with music night out. Nice staff, funny late night customers.

04/05/2025: I ordered my usual butter chicken and egg fried rice last night. Not sure what I received and had to recheck my order to make sure I hadn't ordered the wrong food. It was completely different, the look, smell, texture and most importantly the taste. New recipe? New chef? Is this a once off or permanently the new butter chicken? I'm hoping it's a once off as I wouldn't be ordering this dish again and after trying all the Indians in Galway, Curry & Spice was always my favourite.

12/04/2025: We were regulars to this place as the food was really good and close to authentic in Galway. But recently the standard has gone down a lot. We ordered the usual favourites today and it was not good at all, felt like old food, taste not as good as before, burnt and small sized naans. Just overall disappointing. I hope they go back to their earlier quality or they will lose customers.

03/12/2024: I was in here earlier today and I was absolutely disgusted at the way an older customer was treated! We were just finishing up our food when I heard a server raising her voice to an older lady sitting at the next table. The lady was waiting for her daughter before she ordered her food. She simply told the server that she was waiting for her daughter. The server aggressively told her "you cannot sit here until you have ordered your food". The lady tried explaining that she was waiting for her daughter. That wasn't enough... Another staff member came over telling the lady "you cannot sit here. That table is for people who have already ordered their food". So now there were two servers standing over her as if it wasn't embarrassing enough for her. All the nearby tables could hear them. The lady again tried explaining that she was just waiting for her daughter. These two staff members were so horrible to her. It was absolutely disgusting to see. The poor lady was absolutely mortified. There was another table at the wall that the people ordering could have sat at. I offered the lady our table as we were leaving. She seemed a lovely lady and visibly upset and embarrassed. I was genuinely upset myself for a good while after witnessing the way they treated her. Disgusting!!

06/05/2025: Went in a few weeks ago and ordered a Taco Fries. All of the lads were standing around scratching their balls, touching their trousers in some weird jerking way, opening the bins and grabbing rubbish and shoving it around without any real purpose. None of them washed their hands after. It was as if they were trying to get dirt on everybody's food. There were a load of kids there and all. I told them to keep the food, and that they were pure dirt.

04/01/2025: Order the standard burger and chips from the place. Generally the burger was not bad and it was actually decent meat. The burger meat was a little on the small side but otherwise a decent burger. Chips are comparable to Burger King chips but felt like I got a bit more than Burger King. Average food to be honest but not bad.

16/05/2025: Excellent location right in the Latin Quarter and near everything. Comfortable king beds and well appointed rooms. Fabulous breakfast included every morning.

11/05/2025: Nice good clean hotel. Nothing over the top. Good front desk service. Average breakfast. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Just fair bathrooms.

17/05/2025: I had the lamb doner - a large portion, extremely delicious. Service was friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meals!

02/05/2025: Not ordering from this establishment ever again. Used to be good quality. Quality of food has gone way down while the prices are outrageous even adjusting for inflation. Goodbye to a once love fixture in Galway. Hello to anyone who can fill the space they've left. Ciao charcoal grill.
