14/12/2024: I really do not like leaving bad reviews, especially for local businesses, but I can’t get my head around last night. Went there for an annual Christmas dinner with friends, none of us had been there before. The lady serving had no clue whether the green beans “main” was vegan even though it should have been from reading the menu. A chef had to come out from the kitchen so we could double check. That’s fine. The olives came out first, they were really delicious. The mains came then, and I was just so disappointed. A green veg main, it did have different greens in it and some pomegranate seeds which was lovely, but it was swimming in soya sauce. I don’t like sweet stuff so I’m all about the salt, but I couldn’t even eat it. It was ridiculously salty. Costing the same as a meat dish is just ridiculous too at €16:50 / €16:00 is just crazy. We got a bottle of Cava €44, it was plonked on the table, no cool bucket or anything. And the table beside us was changed to seat 3 which meant the poor guys back was brushing off the side of our table and we had to ask him to stand up and move into the walkway by the door when we had to go to the bathroom as there was no other way out. Nobody came to check if our meal was okay or if we would like more drinks. The atmosphere was great, lovely Christmas feel, but at the prices they are charging for what you get, would never go back unfortunately. Still so hungry on leaving and downed a 2ltr bottle of water due to the salt when I got home.

08/12/2024: He tenido grandes experiencias en el pasado en este restaurante. Pero anoche fue terrible. Mesa reservada. Se le pidió que se moviera a mitad de la comida. La comida fría y el servicio era muy pobre. Sin estrellas. Cumpleaños muy infeliz: (

08/10/2024: Very disappointed with the service received in Synge & Byrne Knocknacarra today. I’m a regular customer here and I’ve always found the staff fantastic. I have the same order each time I come in. Today I was served by the young girl of African descent. I went to order a chicken chipotle ciabatta which was the last one. She took it away as I was ordering and left it on the counter behind her. I asked her if there was any left which she checked under the counter and there wasn’t. I heard a couple behind me laughing and after I walked away to pay for another sandwich the girl that served me was also laughing with the couple that were originally behind me. It turns out, they’re all friends or relatives. She actually gave the girl behind me the sandwich I wanted to order although I was there before her. I’ve never saw a girl so unprofessional, when she saw there was only one sandwich left she kept it for her friend/relative that was not at the top of the queue yet. Please give this girl more training as she desperately needs it.

03/10/2024: Wet toast sitting in undercooked poached eggs water and a coffee that cost €3.50 and drunk in two mouthfuls. There are unfortunately few other alternatives for a coffee and breakie locally. Has potential to be a great wee place *update: it’s now €3.90 for a coffee!!! 40cent more in less than 2 years 🤯

14/03/2025: Ordered rice, chips, and chicken here a few times. Needless to say it was extremely good. The staff are very kind, and I really appreciate it's open in the evening until 11pm or 12am.

06/04/2025: Got a bowl recently. Was very poor. Prices are very expensive for what you get. €14.50 is meant to be large. 2 small scoops of rice and 2 small scoops of meat. Had to ask the server for extra rice as it didn't half fill the bowl. Not much choice of salads, very limited. I asked if there were onions in the tomatoes salad as I am allergic and he said no. When I opened it to eat it was full of onions! As others have mentioned the food is poisoned with coriander making it quite unedible. Definitely would not recommend and Definitely will not be returning.

21/12/2024: We are regular customers and I highly recommend this place. Jacob was our server tonight, he was very kind and professional. Great experience and tasty food. Thanks Jacob it was fab.

14/03/2025: A terrible McDonald's, the toilet doesn't work, the coffee machine is broken - why not close until the problems are resolved?

17/03/2025: Ordered online for collection. Was given collection time of 18.15pm Arrived at supermacs at 6.05pm as had another order to place . Wasn't served till 6.20pm. Placed order stood aside for another 15 minutes waiting . Was given order and then I asked for my order placed for collection too, the pizza hadn't even been made yet . At this stage I was too annoyed to wait for them to cook the pizza plus my other food was going cold. I just said give me 2 burger meals instead. I was given burnt chicken goujons as compensation to which were inedible. ☆☆☆☆ update☆☆☆☆ Was given a €20 courtesy voucher as an apology dealt with efficiently and promptly. My next order was perfect on using said voucher , food was fresh, Piping hot and delivered within minutes.

03/02/2025: Tengo una deliciosa comida de un adorable Armando. ¡Súper calidad y gran tipo! El servicio era rápido y eficiente y sabía fresco no congelado. Brillante lugar para una cena rápida sobre la marcha.

05/04/2025: We had such a gorgeous meals here. IA our waitress was so helped and her service was so exceptional. Thank you for being so kind to us!

10/03/2025: Coffee Flat White. Sure! The foam was delicious, but there was too much milk. The Coffee itself wasn’t noticeable. Service is poor. We are running out of napkins.

12/04/2025: We were regulars to this place as the food was really good and close to authentic in Galway. But recently the standard has gone down a lot. We ordered the usual favourites today and it was not good at all, felt like old food, taste not as good as before, burnt and small sized naans. Just overall disappointing. I hope they go back to their earlier quality or they will lose customers.

09/03/2025: Ordered samosa chat. I did request the chef to add a bit more spice. I just say I was disappointed, it was spicy the way I like it. The quantity was very much enough for a person. The taste was very close to the chat I have in Mumbai. Fair play.

03/12/2024: I was in here earlier today and I was absolutely disgusted at the way an older customer was treated! We were just finishing up our food when I heard a server raising her voice to an older lady sitting at the next table. The lady was waiting for her daughter before she ordered her food. She simply told the server that she was waiting for her daughter. The server aggressively told her "you cannot sit here until you have ordered your food". The lady tried explaining that she was waiting for her daughter. That wasn't enough... Another staff member came over telling the lady "you cannot sit here. That table is for people who have already ordered their food". So now there were two servers standing over her as if it wasn't embarrassing enough for her. All the nearby tables could hear them. The lady again tried explaining that she was just waiting for her daughter. These two staff members were so horrible to her. It was absolutely disgusting to see. The poor lady was absolutely mortified. There was another table at the wall that the people ordering could have sat at. I offered the lady our table as we were leaving. She seemed a lovely lady and visibly upset and embarrassed. I was genuinely upset myself for a good while after witnessing the way they treated her. Disgusting!!

17/03/2025: I went to Kennedy's for an event last night and can confidently say I will never return. The bouncers were extremely homophobic to my friend and shouted “sick” at them as we left as they didn’t dress like every man in Ireland does. Gross, disgusting man. I also rang today to ask if a passport had been handed in and the rudest women barked back at me to tell me they wouldn’t bother checking until tomorrow. It’s St. Patrick’s day so I get how busy they must be but the tone was aggressive and unnecessary. Hard avoid if possible.

02/03/2025: I ordered from this place a few times, and while the wait times were always over 90 min, I was willing to be patient. Unfortunately, my fourth order gave me food poisoning. Definitely won’t be ordering again.

10/07/2024: We visited from UK and was really shocking to see this was the only LGBTQ+ bar in Galway. Bar was very small and atmosphere was definitely off! However host and bar persons were brilliant! Music was available on request which is always fun and plenty to choose from on the cocktail menu

03/07/2024: From Canada, in Galway durin our spring break in March. I had horrible experience. Looked up gay bar. Excited to go on late aftenoon with my str8 brother in law. Just to be made fun and ridiculd by bad queen i guess hosting a str8 girls night. All for that and great for doing...but once we walked in, door not locked, NOT EVEN A SIGN OUTSIDE saying closed fir private event. Once i heard it say thats why door is closed...made me sooo pissed off at how you treat new guests. In my world, you put a sign on door saying private party. Not make fun of tourist who just wanted to go to safe gay place. I will NOT recommend this place, and hope someone will open another gay place to go...or at least fire that wannabe queen. She not even a princess.....just trash.

20/03/2025: Los cafés se hacen uno por uno. Mi café llegó 10 minutos después que mis amigos. Pedí un reg latte, pero me trajeron uno helado. Tuve que esperar otros 5 minutos para un reg latte.
