25/09/2025: I’m giving one star as an honest critic. This new location is very disappointing. The staff show too much attitude toward customers for no reason, and there’s no sense of customer service or satisfaction. Overall, I’m very disappointed with this grocery store.

25/07/2025: I tried their Thalasseri Dum biriyani. I felt fantastic and it’s really delicious. Highly recommended.

06/11/2025: In Oct 2025 we brought a group of 20 young people and 4 youth workers to Boojum. The staff were incredible at keeping on top of all of the orders. Service was friendly, efficient, and the food was delicious. Thank you so much to all the Boojum staff for a fab lunch!

28/10/2025: I wish I could edit it to improve the review, but this franchise doesn't help itself... They charged me for the food, and after 3.5 hours, they delivered it to the wrong house, so I still don't have any food. They sent a photo that they left at the door without speaking to me. I left without knowing if the food went to the right person, which it clearly didn't. No one answers at the restaurant. Well, I really thought about this review but I think it is necessary. I love the food there but lately when I order online through delivery app my bowl is not full. They just give me very small black beans portion, few vegetables and filling up half bowl rice and the rest the fillings are just miserable portions... Like I haven't paid for it and also some items were missing. It has happened to me three times already. I have decided not to give it more chances. I just called them and all what they offered to me was a refund of the items were missing in my bowl. I really understand it was not his fault but I was expected more from them. I meant, I waited for the food... don't know 45 minutes, it means, I invested my time on them and the experience was ungrateful when I gave them a call to try to give them the last chance and try to send the right order this time but he didn'teven offer it. Strongly disappointed.

31/12/2024: Muy, muy decepcionado. Visita anualmente @xmas pero nunca más. Gnocchi no comestible, hamburguesas secas, patatas fritas tan fuerte rebotó cuando trató de comer con un tenedor, la merluza era horrible. Platos muy desnudos, sin ensalada de acompañamiento en cualquier plato. Los ñoquis solo tenían un pequeño trozo de pan de ajo, las porciones eran extremadamente pequeñas. No demasiado ocupado así que no hay excusa. Quedó esperando años para ordenar y de nuevo para pagar. Dije que la comida no era buena, pero le dije que no le diré disculpas al chef. No volveré.

08/10/2024: Good for a pint of Guinness to wind down the evening while sitting out front to watch the people. There are bouncers at the door checking ID's but they could clearly tell that I am definitely of age. Inside, loud with music at 8pm on a Saturday night. So it was outside with the pint glass and thankfully, no one smoking out there. Great to sit for an hour and watch the idiots peel out from Eyre Square in their fancy cars. And watch the taxis make the u-turn to the stand directly in front. And when someone did decide to light up, finish off the pint and head onwards. Lots of tourists in town this evening so it was busy all around.

26/11/2025: Had dinner here and it was really lovely (expensive but lovely and nice atmosphere) however my breakfasts costs 24€ including tea and an orange juice and looked like the below picture and kind of speaks for itself

03/11/2025: Went for dinner with my girlfriend on Saturday night. We have been meaning to try Sophies for a while and after I had read previous reviews we decided to go. The venue is fantastic, it's a stunning location and it really feels how you expect the experience to feel once you arrive up the elevator. Service however was hit and miss, we arrived at the desk and two staff members half greeted us and told us the manager would be with us, this was fine as we assumed someone manages the main desk for the night. The manager when she did arrive barely even said hello, more so a glance at us just assuming we would give our booking details. She then stares at the booking system, grabbed the menus and signs for us to follow with a tilt of her head, I would expect a bit of a warmer greeting from the front of house considering the venues reputation, maybe she's new who knows. Then the service, we were sitting no more than 10 seconds when a waiter dropped two glasses of red wine to the table, clearly not meant for us but that wasn't a problem at all, we understood, until it happened another 3 or 4 times with multiple different waiters. The table to our right even had a charcuterie board dropped to their table upon their arrival, which they then started to eat and then it was taken away as it was a mistake. It just seemed that the wait staff were not fully checking their dockets and just grabbing the food and hoping for the best. The spacing of the tables isn't great either, we spent a good portion of the night with a waitresses bum in our faces while she took orders from the table to our left. We didn't mind the first 1 or 2 times but after that it just seemed a bit inconsiderate. Now the food was sublime, steak may be slightly on the pricey side but all in all I can't complain about the food, that was the highlight. Finally, THE WATER. now I know it's a fancy place and what not, but for a waiter to put a bottle of water on your table without you asking, and then add 2 euro to your bill is crazy. I don't care how fancy the place is, you shouldn't charge a table for water if the customer doesn't ask for water, end of. We did tip 20 euro as we enjoyed our night but there's a few small things they could do better. Not to be those people, but both myself and my girlfriend have worked in restaurants and we just know there's some things that could be better. Also my chair had a piece of sharp metal hanging off the edge of it that I did graze myself on, maybe a different customer would have made a complaint there and then but I let that slide, someone should definitely fix that as there are customers that will use that against the place. All in all, solid night, a good 7/10 I'd say. Front of house just has to smile a little :)

17/11/2025: I'd like to point out that my review refers only to the Mocha Beans guesthouse, which is located above the bar. My room was very small, with a bulky closet. Luckily, I didn't have a large suitcase, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to open it. The mattress is old and sagging, with springs that hurt my back. There are no electrical outlets in the bathroom, and to figure out how to use the shower, I had to call the owner because I wasn't told there was a button outside the bathroom to activate it. There's essentially no reception, and you're given an access code for the main door, which is the same for the room. I texted the owner several times in the days leading up to my stay to ask if it was possible to check in at 11/11:30 in the morning instead of 2:00 PM. He never answered, and when I called him after arriving, he showed up, saying the room was still occupied and that I had to return at 2:00 PM. I told him about my messages and that I hadn't received a response, but he showed no interest. Once I returned at 2:00 PM, I had to wait on the stairs because the cleaning lady hadn't finished. I had to ask for a hairdryer because there wasn't one in the room. I wasn't provided with a shower mat, and I only had a face towel and a large one. I struggled to sleep that night because of the mattress, and in the morning I woke up around 6:00 AM (the only window in the room is on the ceiling and can't be opened because it's too high, and there's no curtain). For what I paid, I didn't receive good service, and even the lady who prepared the room seemed very cold; she didn't ask if I needed anything. The cleanliness was passable. The only advantage is that it's twenty minutes from the city center. I definitely won't be returning.

19/10/2025: There is no check in as such for this bedroom so I can't rate service really. The room itself is clean and comfortable and an adequate size but there is nowhere to store clothes. There isn't enough room for a wardrobe. We were in room number 4 and the shower room isnt exactly ensuite but almost. It's opposite the room on a tiny off side corridor only for room 4. The shower room is spotless nicely tiled and the shower is lovely. There is no plug for the basin. There's no hair dryer or iron. The rooms are above a cafe so I think breakfast should be included. It is an easy walk into the centre of Galway city so perfectly situated.

04/10/2025: I recently visited Elephant and Castle with two friends, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was wonderful. We were greeted by a lovely waitress who was warm, polite, and attentive. She quickly brought over a jug of water and took our drinks order, which set the tone for a relaxed evening. We decided to try three different cocktails, and each one was absolutely delicious. For mains, two of us went for the chicken schnitzel while the third ordered fish and chips. When the food arrived, it looked incredible—and tasted even better. I completely cleared my plate, and I’m still dreaming about it. The creamy smoked bacon parmesan mash was out of this world, and paired with the rich, velvety basil cream pea sauce, it was the perfect comfort dish. Honestly, I can’t stop thinking about it—take me back right now! Between the friendly service, the amazing cocktails, and that unforgettable meal, Elephant and Castle has firmly secured a spot on my “must-return” list.

01/12/2025: Delicious! I was dying to eat octopus and it was tasty too. We also ordered steak and lobster, wow! Everything was delicious, and the passion fruit drink was great too 🫶

02/12/2025: Papa's pepperoni plus is supposed to come with extra pepperoni.. 1.5-2 slices of pepperoni per slice of pizza is not extra! They are also making the 14 inch pizzas with 12 or 10 inch pizza doughs as it is extra thin and falls well short of filling the box. To be honest, over the past six months this location has had it's entire staff replaced by certain people with no standards and no English. Shocking for a place that prides itself in serving supposedly "Irish" products. I've finally learned my lesson and won't be going back. I've been disappointed every time I go for months. I've attached 2 photos. 1. the sad food now being served up by Papa John's/Supermac's Salthill, and 2. What it's supposed to be like on their menu
