PJ Flaherty
Galway
30/11/2025: As an American born "Flaherty," of course I look for any Irish pub called Flaherty's anywhere in the world. I have found them from Barcelona to Cusco, Peru and enjoyed them all, but PJ Flahertys is surely the original that set the standard. The atmosphere is charming, the staff delightful, and the Guiness is perfect. Even better, I was thrilled to meet the owner and fellow "Flaherty." To my Irish cousin, thank you for your warmth and hospitality. You were a highlight of the trip. I will be back to Ireland, Galway and PJ Flaherty's!
27/11/2025: A neighborhood pub atmosphere with its regulars. Quiet because it's the beginning of the week.

King Ding
Galway
29/03/2026: Was in the area so took a chance. Great Chinese, very enjoyable.
14/03/2026: This is definitely the best Asian food I’ve ever had! It tasted absolutely brilliant. It was our first time here; it didn’t look particularly fancy from the outside, but as soon as we stepped inside, it felt warm and cosy, and everyone was so friendly and attentive. The service was excellent, and we’ll definitely be back.

Martine's Quay Street
Galway
15/04/2026: Mixed experience at this restaurant. Average service, very slow in any case, relatively expensive but good dishes, but it's mainly the atmosphere that is very different from the other pubs on the street.
07/04/2026: Pleasant food and wine, and very friendly service.

The g Hotel & Spa
Galway
25/12/2025: We got married in the g 9 years ago, we have stayed there every year for the past 15 years. We celebrate our anniversary and we now have 3 December birthdays. This was all relayed through email while booking. As we have 3 small kids we love to stay at the g around Christmas and have our own little pj party. Despite sharing all this information when booking there was no welcome plate or card even left in our room on arrival, something which was always there before so that was a disappointment.
The room itself was beautiful and spacious especially with our own Christmas tree. The room however was cold. The heating seemed fine on our first day but didn’t seem to work on the second day.
While using the bath there was no little body wash beside it or that could be moved from the sink, which meant I had to get in and out which is a little dangerous.
Breakfast selection the next morning wasn’t hectic, I chose pancakes and I asked for just strawberries and cream to be told there was no cream available. How can a 5 star hotel restaurant not have something quite basic as cream.
Overall we had a nice stay but there is definitely room for improvement as initially it was even difficult to complete our reservation.
22/12/2025: Our stay was brilliant & Davidus (front office manager) made our stay special from the beginning with his warm welcome. Would 100% recommend to friends to stay here. Look forward to returning.

Eastern Tandoori
Galway
03/03/2026: Excellent food really well done. Way above average. The vindaloo tasted perfect with real flavours of vinegar and spice as it should be. Not just a load of chilli powder. Highly recommended.
09/02/2026: Restaurant is dated and dirty. Toilets had poop on the wall. The food was served quickly and pulled out on a hideous black noisy trolley. I was warned the vindaloo was hot. It lacked any heat and more importantly flavour. The jalfreze had more flavour but still very poor. The pilau rice was tasted like plain basmati with zero flavour of the aromats associated with pilau rice. The garlic naan was ok. Overall a very poor experience and by far the worst Indian restaurant I've been to in Ireland so far.
Bland would be the only word I could use to describe the experience

OSAKA japanese & Korean BBQ Restaurant
Galway
21/12/2025: My friend and I booked a table there for 7 people.
This is based in my own opinion
First time: first time going there and it seems alright. Not too shabby. It’s really pretty
Food wise: I myself as a sushi lover , the sushi is actually not too bad but the price and the food that they’re serving us just doesn’t match. I just feel like they were overcharging us for both the bbq and the sushi. We got the bbq for 2 for €50 something and the sushi platter for €33.20 for the 4 of us.
The rest they ordered ramen.
It just clearly feels like just not enough.
Staff: very good not too bad.
Overall I felt like I wasted my money going there with my friends as I said the pricing doesn’t match with the food they served us.
Overall I would’ve went somewhere else.
09/12/2025: 🥴☹️
If you want to fill your stomach with something bland and flavorless rather than real food, this is the place to go. I’m not even going to comment on their tea or customer service here… but the food itself was extremely disappointing.
The portions are huge, but the taste is terrible. I have never had a “spicy ramen” that tasted like a mixture of ketchup and canned beans — until now. It was truly unpleasant.
As for their “sushi,” it’s nothing more than rice wrapped with seaweed and avocado, with no fish at all. Calling it sushi is misleading — it would be more accurate to call it Kimbab.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place

Butlers Chocolate Café, Galway
Galway
25/09/2025: Great mocha and dark chocolate hot chocolate. Each drink purchase comes with a free chocolate as well. The staff is incredibly friendly and service is quick. Definitely recommend for chocolate lovers.
05/09/2025: First time trying Butlers hot chocolate and I took a risk buying a couple of boxes. The hot chocolate was DELICIOUS and much needed on a cold February day. A couple of boxes was also not enough. The chocolate is so delicious and I cannot wait for my next trip to Ireland so I can buy more.

Le Bistro Restaurant
Galway
31/12/2025: Very disappointed with how our booking was handled. We had a hen party booked at the Eyre Square Hotel for 27 February 2026 (2 nights) and paid a €975 deposit. Unfortunately, due to illness, we had to cancel just under 12 weeks before arrival. While the rooms were cancelled, the hotel retained the full deposit and showed no flexibility or accommodation given the circumstances.
Overall, a very disappointing experience and one I would not recommend for group bookings.
31/12/2025: Fantastic location but poor value for money. €494.60 for 2 nights (with parking), 2 guests.
On arriving to our first room we called reception as it was no bigger than a box room. Only a double bed and very little room to move. We were given a bigger room. However despite having the radiator on full and an extra plug in radiator on constant for the duration of our stay, our room was uncomfortably cold. Within two minutes of the shower running the bathroom gets flooded. We used bath towels to block the flow out towards the door.
We found the bar and restaurant quite cold also.
Despite staying during the middle of the festive season there was no real atmosphere in the hotel. The bar was almost empty. When we returned with 3 friends to the bar at approx 9.30 on Sunday night we were told that we couldn't order Irish coffees because the coffee machine was off. We left and went to another bar nearby.
Despite phoning enroute to ask about parking, we were not told of the closest/cheapest parking. We pid €4 per day extra and had to walk further with our luggage.
Overall our stay was ok but we wouldn't rush back.

Chopstix - Galway Service Station (Applegreen)
Galway
09/11/2025: Food ok.
Seating area filthy, no regular cleaning. Table tops dirty, food on floor, and trays not cleared.
07/09/2025: Service needs a lot of work. Sitting area is very dirty. Guy behind the counter ignored us to serve other people when the walked up and was then snarky when we point it out.
