09/05/2025: Very good overall. Good music in one room but very loud. We sat inside front door away from the music so easier to hear. Friendly staff.

22/02/2025: A great find, their Lemon cake is amazing and it was my son's birthday cake. The treatment of the girls is super good, very efficient and friendly. They make the cappuccino great. Mandatory visit if you go to Galway..!! I will return if in doubt…

05/06/2025: Ordered a seafood past, waited & waited, watched other customers who arrived after me get drinks & main course. Eventually I got up and left. Never before have I left a bad review, but this restaurant deserves one.

03/06/2025: Very disappointing, as NO vegan options available! Only after we sat down and ordered drinks did we find this out, as arrabuata sauce RARELY contains dairy! Left, and went somewhere else!!

30/04/2025: Laura deserves a raise! Her professionalism is unmatched. The dealers' choice cocktails were the best we had on our whole trip. She is very personable and kind. Xoxo The bar is legit as well. Very large and the soul garden with nice weather is the place to be.

28/04/2025: We stayed at the Massimo rooms upstairs that worked perfectly for our purpose, very clean and tidy. The staff at the pub downstairs were excellent, very friendly and a pleasant to chat with. It has been an excellent stay, thanks for making our visit great while in Galway!!!!

14/02/2025: A gin lover's dream! I absolutely loved that my hotel was a block away as I came here all 3 nights I visited Galway. They have so many different gins you can try and the bar tenders are very nice and suggest cool mixtures. I recommend visiting here at least once when visiting Galway!

30/04/2025: Worst price-performance ratio on our trip to Ireland. The rooms we see in the photos are clean and relatively modern. The breakfast buffet is not bad but not exceptional either. Unfortunately, there were some ants running around the buffet, which didn't leave a good impression. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. However, the rooms cost around €260 per night! Definitely too expensive for the location and the offer. We definitely won't come to that price again!

01/09/2024: 2 adults and 2 kids, nice food fast service. Had fish and chips oysters and 2 kids meals. Amazing oysters and cocktails, we will be back.

22/05/2025: A very disappointing lunch. We ordered two focaccia sandwiches and waited an hour for the food to arrive- when we ordered there was no indication it would take this long. We asked twice within the hour if our food was on its way and they just said it would be soon. When the food finally did arrive they were both ciabattas which were hard and dry. When we pointed out that this was not what we ordered the staff stated simply it was ciabattas despite the menu saying focaccia. It was clear the food was coming from a kitchen further down the road not sure if this is usual for them but either way we were left not satisfied.

10/05/2025: Lovely place for a coffee! We had an americano and a coconut latte. The staff were very nice as well; we definitely recommend coming here.

17/05/2025: Perhaps the rating is a little exaggerated, but only a little. A solid 4+ or 4.5. Usually everything is tasty, served quickly. A polite, diligent woman served us mostly. She can always prompt and advise. There are many cafes nearby, but we usually choose this one. Especially today. It's hot. In others there were a lot of people, stuffy and noisy, but here is the best thing - quiet, cool and not too many visitors. For 25-30 euros, the two of us manage to have a normal snack. We hope to visit again. Nearby is the university hospital. When my mother was repeatedly treated there, we examined all the cafes opposite. For us, this is probably the best.

16/05/2025: A Masterclass in Incompetence – Truly Dismal Experience This was, without exaggeration, one of the most disorganized and unprofessional dining experiences I’ve encountered. Our server, who appeared either severely distracted or under some influence, took our drink order and then proceeded to loiter at the table in complete silence for an uncomfortable amount of time. So long, in fact, that a member of our party had to physically get up and go to the bar to place the order himself. This set the tone for the evening. When we finally ordered food—through passive-aggressive remarks from the same server—we were informed half an hour later that multiple dishes weren’t available. Several guests had to change their orders well after the fact, suggesting basic communication between front and back of house was nonexistent. Despite the menu clearly stating 2- or 3-course options, we were inexplicably told that 2 courses were “not allowed.” No explanation, just a refusal. The calamari arrived—five sad strips of it. My schnitzel, as someone who loves salt, was so aggressively oversalted it was borderline inedible. My partner’s burger patty? Charred beyond belief. Visually indistinguishable from an ice hockey puck, and about as enjoyable. The one passable item? The chips. But even a frozen bag of pub chips would’ve managed that. Dessert was no redemption. After seeing the disgraceful “sticky toffee pudding” (dry, cold, and completely sauce-less), I changed my order to a brownie—which prompted an unprofessional exchange between the waiter and kitchen, visible from our table. The brownie itself tasted like it had more plastic content than chocolate, reminiscent of something mass-produced and microwaved in desperation. To top it off, none of our drink orders made it to the bar throughout the night. We had to order them ourselves—again and again. This was not just a poor dining experience; it was a case study in how not to run a restaurant. I’ve worked across the service industry for 15 years and would be genuinely ashamed to have my name associated with this level of service, food quality, or hospitality. Unfortunately, The Elephant and Castle appears to operate with no standards whatsoever. Zero stars. Avoid at all costs.

18/05/2025: Food was amazing and the staff were so friendly the atmosphere was pretty good and the mango lissy was the highlight of the meal.I came home stuffed. An overall amazing experience
