09/09/2026: Lovely café with a beautiful interior and a really nice atmosphere. We had breakfast here and were very happy with both the food and the portions — everything was fresh, tasty and definitely not small! The café itself is beautifully decorated, with a stylish and cosy interior that makes you want to stay a little longer. A great place for a delicious and satisfying breakfast. Would definitely recommend!

05/09/2026: The food is excellent. The GF menu is a lot more limited than they say. The menu says all the dishes can be made GF, but the reality is that you can only get ONE pasta dish. The pizza seems to get you more variety.

30/08/2026: Located in the heart of the vibrant Latin Quarter, it offers a warm, rustic, and decidedly casual atmosphere. Perfect for those who want to experience the energy of the city center. Fresh homemade pasta and pizza made with dough left to rise for 72 hours are served. The tiramisu and extensive selection of antipasti are highly praised. During peak weekend hours, service can sometimes be slow or a bit inattentive due to the heavy traffic.

30/11/2025: As an American born "Flaherty," of course I look for any Irish pub called Flaherty's anywhere in the world. I have found them from Barcelona to Cusco, Peru and enjoyed them all, but PJ Flahertys is surely the original that set the standard. The atmosphere is charming, the staff delightful, and the Guiness is perfect. Even better, I was thrilled to meet the owner and fellow "Flaherty." To my Irish cousin, thank you for your warmth and hospitality. You were a highlight of the trip. I will be back to Ireland, Galway and PJ Flaherty's!

18/03/2026: The room was great and the included breakfast was fantastic! Also a perfect location for a one night stopover to fully enjoy the Latin Quarter. However, the check-in experience really dampened our enthusiasm. Expecting Galway would be busy for St Patrick's weekend, a few months ago we researched hotel rates and reserved at HH's "special offer" at the time, €199/night. Definitely higher than every other city/town on our 2 week trip, but assumed high season in a city. Waiting in line at check-in though, two separate parties of walk-in/no reservations ahead of us were offered the current special of almost 50% less, €105. When we asked if we could switch to this rate, we were told this was not possible, we would have had to cancel our existing reservation 48 hours in advance and then re-book at the current offer rate. The only option was being upgraded to a larger room. We had not paid for the room yet, and the reservation was directly through the hotel, not a 3rd party booking site. Very disappointing initial impression of an otherwise enjoyable visit.

14/03/2026: I booked at the very last minute on the bus when I arrived in Galway, and what a wonderful surprise! Everything was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. I was greeted by a very kind young lady whose name I unfortunately forget, and then Paige took over and looked after everything with incredible care. Truly exceptional service. The room was magnificent, incredibly quiet, soft, and comfortable. The bottle of Prosecco included in my package was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. As for the bed… simply heavenly! The hotel is ideally located right in the city center, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! All the staff are smiling, welcoming, and very professional. And for such quality, the price is very reasonable. I recommend this establishment 2000% and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to return someday. A huge thank you to the entire team!

23/08/2026: Me and 4 other family members had this today and it was absoloutly great. I got a mixed doner wrap and it was well packed, the meats were succulent and juicy and it was fresh. Very fast and polite servive. Really reccomend

26/06/2026: We had a 5 night stay and I have to say it was a fabulous experience. My wife has MND and I explained this when booking as I was a bitter nervous with our first hotel stay since diagnosis but everything was done by the hotel to make our visit just right including putting a shower seat in the bathroom for my wife. From check in to check out everything was so perfect my wife wants me to look at booking another break later in the year

02/06/2026: Just back from a weekend in the hotel....it was brilliant. Great staff and rooms. Lovely food. But its the location, I mean directly across from the sea and the beach. Walking the promenade and getting fresh air. The best.

01/09/2026: Connor is a ray of sunshine, and Roisin is the magnifying glass and together they could burn down the city with their whimsical ways of serving while entertaining. The cafe opens early enough so nobody needs to drink cr*ppy starbucks, come to Roots!

05/08/2026: Lovely cosy cafe with delicious food fabulous home cooked bakery goods, gorgeous coffees, plenty of choice for soft drinks and juices and friendly staff. Beef burger, chicken burger, pasta and great bakes were all delicious

04/08/2026: We arrived around 12:30 pm; it was very busy, but we only waited 5 minutes for a table. The order was processed quickly and the food was decent. However, we waited a long time to pay because the servers were running around and it was a bit chaotic. The atmosphere was friendly, the servers were nice, but the restaurant was very noisy.

29/08/2026: It’s nice inside, we were excited to see a “gin parlor” at the back of this bar we randomly entered but oh my god after 10-15 minutes of waiting at a not very packed bar we received the literal worst “very dirty old faithful martini” one could imagine. It’s undrinkable. There are about 45 dirty glasses stacked up on the bar—most still have drinks in them. Management REALLY needs to support their staff, i imagine.

03/09/2026: Went to Osaka following a recommendation from the Airbnb owner where we were staying in Salthill. It appealed to us as it's the kind of food we like. We went for the table bbq with pork chicken prawns lamb and beef. It was great fun to cook and it was all really tasty. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. It was a great start to our holiday in the west of Ireland

01/09/2026: The garlic and chilli chicken in the starters is an amazing dish and it was full of flavour coming from South Asia. I know my flavours and I know my spices but this dish it just satiated all our senses and everybody just loved it but perhaps it was the best garlic and chilli chicken that I’ve had anywhere. It had just the right amount of Spice and the right amount of flavouring and presentation and we just lapped it up in one go and ended up ordering more portions because it was so good and then we also parcel some portion for takeaway and had them at home. They were really nice though the walks are great as well. What I particularly like is the black bean stirfry and the Malay stirfry as it is on the spicy aside and I don’t mind Spice so it was good for me. The most spicy one is the chilli and cashew nut which is okay for my taste and also quite spicy. I’ve had it before but I did not order it this time but if you like heavy Spice you should definitely go for it as it will ring all your bells and ask for the noodles the Singapore rice noodle and the pot thigh are my favourites. They do a great job with it all in all a great experience perhaps the best Japanese book stirfry place in all of Ireland!

04/09/2026: Stumbled upon this little gem while walking through Galway on holiday. Great coffee, friendly staff, and a fantastic sausage roll. Filled with locals when we stopped, which is always a good sign. Well done!
