07/03/2026: We've had 5 days staying in Salthill and this pub is very close to our digs. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and customers who are all up for a chat, brilliant Guinness. If only this place was closer!!

13/04/2026: I visited Grind today for the first time. Excellent young man greeted and seated me immediately. My sourdough sandwich was delicious and a fine big pot of tea. Very impressed with the food and service. Can't wait for a return visit. Really impressed by staff . Keep it up.

17/12/2025: Grind (Briarhill) is a real Find, a cafe really worth seeking out & aiming for, regardless of what else brings you to Galway, in fact Grind deserves to be the reason itself for travelling to Galway. Overall, great ambience, layout, buzz, comfort, menu.. Great food, great coffee. But most of all really attentive fantastic service by the multitude of servers. We were late converts to Grind, only discovering its' sister Dock Street branch a week before it closed 🙁 - but Grind Briarhill is even better🙂🙂 Thanks!

30/11/2025: As an American born "Flaherty," of course I look for any Irish pub called Flaherty's anywhere in the world. I have found them from Barcelona to Cusco, Peru and enjoyed them all, but PJ Flahertys is surely the original that set the standard. The atmosphere is charming, the staff delightful, and the Guiness is perfect. Even better, I was thrilled to meet the owner and fellow "Flaherty." To my Irish cousin, thank you for your warmth and hospitality. You were a highlight of the trip. I will be back to Ireland, Galway and PJ Flaherty's!

29/10/2025: I can’t comment as to the quality of the rooms as we only visited for breakfast. I was quite underwhelmed… premium prices for a very bland food offering. I felt rushed, despite the place being relatively empty perhaps best seen when the waitress ushered to clear our table whilst my wife was still eating. I shall not be coming back. Salthill Cottage is only a short drive away and offers better value, nicer surroundings, better food and nicer staff.

19/05/2026: This was recommend by out Rabbies driver, Jim Howe.....Great experience. Had the lamb/chicken shish. Perfect 👌 Also tried the taco fries. They were delicious. Great service, friendly staff. Definitely recommend

07/05/2026: This place is amazing, the food , services everything is extremely good. Anthony even got me a special dish bulgur rice for the kofta item, and the rice was simply delicious. It went perfectly with koftas, I wish they add this bulgur rice in their menu or any tomato rice in their menu in future, it's pairs perfectly with koftas and shish kabab. Thank you Anthony.

18/03/2026: The room was great and the included breakfast was fantastic! Also a perfect location for a one night stopover to fully enjoy the Latin Quarter. However, the check-in experience really dampened our enthusiasm. Expecting Galway would be busy for St Patrick's weekend, a few months ago we researched hotel rates and reserved at HH's "special offer" at the time, €199/night. Definitely higher than every other city/town on our 2 week trip, but assumed high season in a city. Waiting in line at check-in though, two separate parties of walk-in/no reservations ahead of us were offered the current special of almost 50% less, €105. When we asked if we could switch to this rate, we were told this was not possible, we would have had to cancel our existing reservation 48 hours in advance and then re-book at the current offer rate. The only option was being upgraded to a larger room. We had not paid for the room yet, and the reservation was directly through the hotel, not a 3rd party booking site. Very disappointing initial impression of an otherwise enjoyable visit.

14/03/2026: I booked at the very last minute on the bus when I arrived in Galway, and what a wonderful surprise! Everything was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. I was greeted by a very kind young lady whose name I unfortunately forget, and then Paige took over and looked after everything with incredible care. Truly exceptional service. The room was magnificent, incredibly quiet, soft, and comfortable. The bottle of Prosecco included in my package was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. As for the bed… simply heavenly! The hotel is ideally located right in the city center, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! All the staff are smiling, welcoming, and very professional. And for such quality, the price is very reasonable. I recommend this establishment 2000% and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to return someday. A huge thank you to the entire team!

24/05/2025: This place sells more than tarts, also does prepared chilled meals. Prices are good by Irish standards. I feel they could keep it a bit cleaner, including seats outside.

20/05/2026: Absolutely fantastic coffee, staff were so friendly and accommodating. Definitely a must go spot for a lovely cuppa! Outdoor seating available to enjoy the lovely day that was in it! Will be back.

14/05/2026: Went last week, god awful! Dining experience lies somewhere between stubbing your pinkie and being executed by a guillotine. Chef with anger issues and terrified waiters is what defines this place.
