17/05/2025: Perhaps the rating is a little exaggerated, but only a little. A solid 4+ or 4.5. Usually everything is tasty, served quickly. A polite, diligent woman served us mostly. She can always prompt and advise. There are many cafes nearby, but we usually choose this one. Especially today. It's hot. In others there were a lot of people, stuffy and noisy, but here is the best thing - quiet, cool and not too many visitors. For 25-30 euros, the two of us manage to have a normal snack. We hope to visit again.
Nearby is the university hospital. When my mother was repeatedly treated there, we examined all the cafes opposite. For us, this is probably the best.

23/05/2025: Very good desserts and a fairly wide variety of choices. The shop manager was very friendly and personable. We had a waffle and a crepe, both of which were very good.
If you're looking for a place to have dessert after your meal or treat yourself to a sweet treat in Galway, this is the place to go!

14/07/2025: Delicious food and super good service. Definitely recommend it.
We had the oysters and they were fresh and tasty.
The fish was crispy and perfectly cooked and it even came with a salad. I really appreciated both.
The chowder was also good.
We were a bit crunched on time but that was not an issue they brought our meal quickly and efficiently.
Our Waiters were very nice as well.

23/06/2025: Very tasty pizza and risotto. The lasagna was bland. The Roberta's sour was not good, boring. The staff is quick, and the food came quickly. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is somewhat chilly; the large rooms are a bit too chilly. The restrooms were unkempt and dirty.
20/06/2025: The place and especially the people were so nice we ended up going two nights in a row.
Especially the pizzas are amazing and so was the Tiramisu.

22/05/2025: A very disappointing lunch. We ordered two focaccia sandwiches and waited an hour for the food to arrive- when we ordered there was no indication it would take this long. We asked twice within the hour if our food was on its way and they just said it would be soon. When the food finally did arrive they were both ciabattas which were hard and dry. When we pointed out that this was not what we ordered the staff stated simply it was ciabattas despite the menu saying focaccia. It was clear the food was coming from a kitchen further down the road not sure if this is usual for them but either way we were left not satisfied.

The Kasbah Wine Bar

28/06/2025: We stopped here for a glass of wine and a cocktail. The grapefruit cocktail was very nice, and my husband enjoyed his wine. He said the oysters were good, but he wasn't too sure about the sage and buttermilk for the oysters. Fabulous art adorns the walls!

19/07/2025: Definitely a pub 👌 with a view on the roof top terrace and the lift to the top .Good selection of beers 🍻 👌 the Guinness was good 👍.
18/07/2025: Work Group of 13 for Lunch with a reservation, insisted on a set menu even for vegetarian options. had to leave because The staff refused to split the bill because it would take too long. Restaurant not busy at time. Not very accommodating or helpful, obviously used to dealing with a captive audience. Staff require customer service training.

The bar is legit as well. Very large and the soul garden with nice weather is the place to be.
28/04/2025: We stayed at the Massimo rooms upstairs that worked perfectly for our purpose, very clean and tidy. The staff at the pub downstairs were excellent, very friendly and a pleasant to chat with. It has been an excellent stay, thanks for making our visit great while in Galway!!!!

30/06/2025: I regularly ordering catering through Ground & Co for different events I organise in the University of Galway. I have always found their staff to be incredible helpful and efficient. Everything always runs smoothly, and the food is consistently excellent. In fact, I often receive fantastic feedback from attendees at our meetings where Ground & Co have provided the catering!
I would not have any hesitation in recommending Ground & Co. A+++++

05/06/2025: Great place to go and hangout while in Galway. They’ve got a wide range of events going on from science talks, to open mic, to trad music. Everyone was super friendly as well. Next time I’m in Galway I’ll definitely be back!

The Sliding Rock

13/06/2025: Sliding Rock is fine. I have the odd pint there - it's not exactly my regular. Drink is ok, staff seem ok. Food isn't bad. Place is quite clean and friendly enough.
12/06/2025: Had a lovely stay at the sliding rock with my friends! Easy, flexible check in and check out. The rooms are clean and fairly utilitarian (read: small), but we spent most of our time out and about anyhow. The bathroom door stuck, and we couldn't get it completely shut, and it was a struggle to reopen it again. Water pressure in the shower was so-so, and the beds were on the firmer side. Not a perfect room, but gets the job done, and I'd definitely stay here again, due to the price, the food, and the location.
The complimentary breakfast was great — recommend the scones with jam! We also had dinner there two nights; my friends raved about the fish and chips, and the bangers and mash was great!
