The best restaurants in Galway

07/04/2026: I hate writing these reviews as people put their heart and soul into these small businesses but we had breakfast there this morning and it was awful. The Breakfast Bun contents, rasher, egg, pudding etc were all dry and hard and tasted of reheated food from yesterday morning's breakfast. For €14 it's just not acceptable. Coffee was lovely and staff very nice but won't be back. Conor

23/03/2026: Got a hot chocolate to go and it was fantastic, really nice, loved it But I got a kinder Bueno blondie/brownie to take home and it was stale and disgusting, not just a little stale, but about a week stale, not good at all we also got a gingerbread biscuit and it was similarly stale and low quality first time being in, I might go in for hot chocolate or coffee again, but would be hesitant to eat anything!

17/05/2026: I am very impressed. The bed is sooooooo comfortable with very decent pillows. The room was spotlessly clean. And checking in was easy with some fantastic recommendations from Kevin. Salthill is approx a 20 min walk from Galway, but it’s a beautiful walk along the coast. It also has some fantastic restaurants nearby for breakfast. You must go to O’Connors if you’re staying. Great live music.

20/05/2026: Course was good & it beat me today. The few pints, food & service were of the highest order.

24/05/2026: 3 of us arrived for lunch. Place was very busy. For some reason our order didn't make it to the kitchen and we waited for ages. However, staff couldn't have been better. They apologised, food arrived and was excellent. Good save.

13/05/2026: Great staff and service. Coffe is ok. Unfortunately, the food portions have decreased in size and quality☹️

09/02/2026: Bad experience! A person smoking outside the front of the building in front of staff. This is a service station! Totally unacceptable and very dangerous.

20/01/2026: I had a great experience here. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. Everything was well prepared and enjoyable😀

12/04/2026: I got a takeaway fish and chips. Good quality, but disappointed with the portion. Not as good as it used to be. A small portion for €15.60. With a can of coke.

30/03/2026: The food here is decent, we’ve ordered a few times and usually enjoy what actually arrives. Unfortunately, they almost always miss something from the order when it’s delivered. And it’s not just small things like a drink, recently it was one persons full meal. To make matters worse, we’ve tried calling several times when items are missing and they don’t answer the phone, so there’s no way to resolve the issue or even let them know. It’s a real shame because we do like the food, but it’s frustrating not being able to rely on your full order turning up. Decent food, but the consistent mistakes and lack of communication mean we won’t be ordering again.

06/06/2026: We had dinner at ReNao recently and it was top notch. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back. Large selection to choose from for every taste with variety of homemade specialty noodles which can be served with chicken, pork, duck, lamb etc. Lots of vegetarian options and a full vegan menu too. We didnt have starters but there was definitely some there I want to come back to try. I opted for the green chilli and basil crispy chicken with noodles, while my husband got the szechaun chicken with spicy chips. Both dishes were very flavoursome, came with plenty of veg, nice bit of spice and make sure you come hungry as the portion sizes are huge! Neither of us could finish our meals. Our son had chicken balls with curry sauce and noodles which he loved. Classic Mains are served with rice or you can change to noodles, spicy chips or chips for very small charge. Good wine and cocktail menu. Service was friendly, attentive and we weren't waiting too long for our food. Meal came to €93 (including 3 glasses of delicious NZ sav blanc) which is good nowadays and you dont mind paying for quality food. I look forward to returning to ReNao. Thank you for a lovely meal.

17/12/2025: We went, cuz a friend recommended us and was really good. The coffee was delicious, difficult to find a good one (coffee) here in Galway. And the food was delicious and generous quantities!! The stuff was friendly and helpful, the place was really busy at that time… We will come back!! ✨

09/12/2025: We Had lunch here today, ordered Turkey sandwich on rye bread with side of chips, my partner had burger with salad and chips...Turkey was fried , oil clearly visible and meat was chewy and tasteless, my partner's burger was bland, neither justified price charged.The coffees were good but at €4.10.each totally overpriced. Ate here on number of occasions in past, always loved it...today was not a good experience, will not be returning, staff disinterested, no atmosphere whatsover. A pity, as I always loved this spot!

21/04/2026: Solid dining experience! The portions were very filling, the dessert was flavorful, and the meal itself was well worth the cost. Efficient service as well!

18/05/2026: Highly recommend the Irish breakfast here. Everything was high-quality from the sausages to this sourdough bread and fresh eggs. Coffee was good as well Not to mention they were playing our country music station. :) Ella and Morgan were on :)
