The best restaurants in Galway

31/03/2025: Went with my mother this evening restaurant was very quiet only about 4 or 5 tables with people. Left waiting for 15 minutes without being offered a drink or food order. Another group came in 10 minutes after us and ordered and were served drinks in this time. Really poor service considering the restaurant was very quiet and 3 waiters standing around. We got up and left and they just looked at us as we walked out, very dissapointing as we would come here regularly when we visit Galway.

22/03/2025: Was recommended this place by a couple of different people. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations.. Croquettes for our starter came out cold. Ordered a cocktail it never arrived with the rest of my groups drinks, when I brought it to waiters attention he then informed that they don’t have that cocktail available.. the worst part was our mains didn’t come together and 2 out of 4 of us finished our mains before the last 2 mains arrived 20 minutes later.. really really disappointing.. We felt like our table was being avoided then the rest of the time. Very disappointing service.

13/03/2025: I absolutely love this café!! It’s the staff that really make the experience they are always so friendly, and the service is second to none!! Love coming here they do a great chai latte and they are just always such friendly bright people! ❤️

04/03/2025: Absolutely love the interior redo! It feels so cozy and relaxing.. will definitely be doing some reading and working here while enjoying the best coffee - in the best coffee shop - in Galway!

27/02/2025: It's the only place in town that has really good pasta, any kind. Whatever you choose will be well cooked and balanced in flavor, large portions Very good wine and olives Thank you for the atmosphere and coziness !

23/02/2025: Food was average at best. Lady behind the counter clearly hates working there and is vljust rude and unfriendly which is a pity since Galway is a very friendly city any time we visit.

23/12/2024: Has obviously changed with new owners but not for the better. Restaurant size is reduced for the inclusion of a bakers shop. Walls are now bare. The menu and choice has somewhat shrunk. Sorry not changed for the better. Left feeling disappointed that the must have breakfast in Donegal town is no more.

29/03/2025: Fantastic food with generous portions and excellent service. The flavors were authentic, and everything was cooked to perfection. Nice ambiance , The only downside was the lack of background music, making the noise from other diners quite noticeable. Still, a great spot for quality Thai food! Highly recommended:)

11/02/2025: I was there last sunday and let me say this place is a must go to bar when in galway the staff are so helpful when i was asking for directions and all my drinks were absolutely perfect i just love the place and wish i could go more often the atmosphere was so welcoming and cosy if i was to sum it up in one word it would be perfect

15/03/2025: The Gourmet Tart Co. at all their locations have consistently supported many charities actively contributing to a sense of community and well-being wherever they are located. They recognise everyone for their individuality and I have always felt welcomed, recognised and more engaged with my fellow humankind after any visit there. Their kindness shines through their staff and their actions on a daily basis. Their genuine acknowledgment of the diversity of their customer base is laudable. They support creativity, charity and “building people up”!! This extends to staff, customers and charities alike. This can be with something as small as supporting someone’s art initiatives, animal welfare pursuits or helping them learn & navigate how to be part of a workplace that is kind, caring & patient. They seem keenly aware of the struggles some people face within themselves and the wider world. I have seen them “pay it forward” with a kind word and a free coffee many a time and although it may not seem much at the time it’s obvious how much it means to that person who needed that humanity at that moment. Gourmet Tart Company please continue being uniquely you, being authentic and most of all in a world where you can be anything continue to “Be Kind!” Your coffee in the bright pink happy cups and your pain au raisin coupled with a quick chat with your baristas and staff are what makes us think that the world is still a happy, bright and charitable place. 💓

16/10/2024: Good acai bowls on a sunny day. Maybe a little pricey but given the location it's to be expected. Be prepared to queue on a bush sunny day.

19/03/2025: Great place for breakfast, coffee, and snacks. Everything looks amazing. We went with the Breakfast Roll and the Raspberry Coconut Porridge Scone. The service was amazing. So helpful and friendly!

22/02/2025: Muy decepcionante. Mi hija tenía el envoltorio de pollo y queso, no le gustaba nada. Tomé el queso y la ensalada de pera escalfada, aunque era agradable, no era alucinante. El servicio fue genial. Los servidores siguieron comprobando que estábamos bien, y queríamos algo, etc, etc. El bar en sí es encantador, buen ambiente, simplemente la comida no era genial en realidad. Qué pena.

16/03/2025: Came here recently as we saw the menu and thought it looked nice. Came in the door and were seated at a dirty table waitress cleaned it up quickly, all good. Then left us waiting for around 15 minutes before I got up to see if I needed to order at the till, she then came over and took our order. Food was fine, but we were then left with finished plates on the table, waitress kept walking past and looking at the table but never adressed us. We just got up and left instead of having a coffee afterwards. Could be lovely but felt the service wasn't good and it wasn't overly busy so didn't understand the lack of service. Don't like to leave bad reviews but think maybe management need to check the service and make some improvements 😊

26/02/2025: Pedí un sándwich de masa madre abierta de atún, queso y cebolla tostado, había un problema, no había cebolla y el pan apenas estaba tostado, tibio, se lo dije a la gerente de turno, dijo que lo revisaría, salió de nuestra mesa y trajo menú a la cocina, regresó unos minutos después y caminó y nos ignoró, ya que estábamos pagando ella con gusto tomó nuestro dinero e ignoró totalmente mi problema, apenas habló, así que ese es un gran servicio y modales, no impresionado, nunca entrará allí, estábamos aquí de vacaciones... también mi pareja obtuvo un sándwich tostado, que apenas estaba tostado, necesita mejorar su juego en este negocio, no lo suficientemente bueno...

02/03/2025: The food was alright! The porridge was very loose, and the drinks we got (Flat white and a mocha) were mostly milk and tasteless. Despite that, we still had a good time as the view was beautiful and the atmosphere was relaxing.

15/03/2025: Tuvimos un post increíble - fiesta de Navidad aquí en el día festivo de febrero! Nuestro grupo era grande, y todos estaban encantados con sus opciones de comida. El personal era increíblemente amable y eficiente. Un agradecimiento especial a Niamh y Terry por acomodarnos. Definitivamente volveremos!

14/10/2024: Haven’t had a tastier chicken fillet roll ever complements to the chef.. it’s a pity there aren’t more busy.. cracking coffee .. I’ll call again

07/09/2024: The Irish breakfast is wrapped and closed in a kind of piadina. A quick and clean way to have breakfast. Staff as always very friendly. Room on the upper floor, the table was not very clean and the view of the shopping area is not the best. Good soy milk cappuccino.
