The best restaurants in Galway

17/05/2026: I am very impressed. The bed is sooooooo comfortable with very decent pillows. The room was spotlessly clean. And checking in was easy with some fantastic recommendations from Kevin. Salthill is approx a 20 min walk from Galway, but it’s a beautiful walk along the coast. It also has some fantastic restaurants nearby for breakfast. You must go to O’Connors if you’re staying. Great live music.

02/07/2026: Good course very close to the attractions of Salthill & Galway City. Lovely clubhouse, very good menu & not that expensive. Well worth having a meal after your round of golf.

17/12/2025: We went, cuz a friend recommended us and was really good. The coffee was delicious, difficult to find a good one (coffee) here in Galway. And the food was delicious and generous quantities!! The stuff was friendly and helpful, the place was really busy at that time… We will come back!! ✨

09/12/2025: We Had lunch here today, ordered Turkey sandwich on rye bread with side of chips, my partner had burger with salad and chips...Turkey was fried , oil clearly visible and meat was chewy and tasteless, my partner's burger was bland, neither justified price charged.The coffees were good but at €4.10.each totally overpriced. Ate here on number of occasions in past, always loved it...today was not a good experience, will not be returning, staff disinterested, no atmosphere whatsover. A pity, as I always loved this spot!

09/07/2026: I enjoyed at Wokbaba Asian Restaurant. I ordered *Meal A* (chicken balls, chili salt chicken, and shredded chicken combo), and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was fresh, crispy, and full of flavor, with generous portions that made it excellent value for money. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. I would definitely recommend Wokbaba to anyone looking for tasty, freshly prepared Asian food. I'll certainly be coming back to try more from the menu.

09/07/2026: the food is good and fairly priced. i always order their mapo tofu and ask for it extra spicy. their thai chili basil chicken and chicken cheese rolls are also great! they also have some new menu items, like pizzas and quarter pounders (all menus are with halal meat). surprisingly, they're really good!!!

29/10/2025: I can’t comment as to the quality of the rooms as we only visited for breakfast. I was quite underwhelmed… premium prices for a very bland food offering. I felt rushed, despite the place being relatively empty perhaps best seen when the waitress ushered to clear our table whilst my wife was still eating. I shall not be coming back. Salthill Cottage is only a short drive away and offers better value, nicer surroundings, better food and nicer staff.

31/07/2026: Great spot, went here for some coffee and it was really good. Measures up to some Italian espressos I've had. The sweets also taste great! Great staff and great interior. Thanks you to the employees for helping when a can opened in my backpack and flooded all my belongings! Would recommend everything about this place!

30/07/2026: The quiet scone. Staying across the road in The Gatehouse I found this became my go-to place for quiet working with a Flat White and… well you have to try the Porage Scone. I had no idea that was possible. Attractive looking cafés nearby… but I never got to them.

20/07/2026: Kirby’s of Galway was exactly what we were looking for after a day of exploring the city. It offers quality comfort food in a warm, welcoming setting, making it an easy restaurant to recommend to a wide range of diners. The menu has plenty of variety, so whether you’re after seafood, steak, traditional Irish dishes or something lighter, there is something to suit most tastes. Everything we ordered was well prepared, generously portioned and full of flavour. This isn’t a restaurant trying to reinvent fine dining, and that’s actually one of its strengths. It focuses on serving satisfying, well-executed meals using good ingredients, and it does that very well. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great place to unwind over dinner. Despite being popular, the service remained friendly, efficient and professional throughout our visit. The staff struck the right balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. Sometimes when travelling you simply want a dependable restaurant where you know you’ll receive a quality meal, pleasant surroundings and good service. Kirby’s delivered on all three. We left very satisfied and could easily see ourselves returning on a future visit to Galway. If you’re visiting Galway and want a reliable restaurant with a broad menu and consistently good food, Kirby’s is well worth considering.

16/06/2026: Absolutely stellar drinks with a large Gin Tome (that lists accompanying tonic pairing) and super friendly staff! The venue is a delight, and very well decorated, and can have some amazing live music! If looking for a more unique and stand out bar, that also has exclusively brewered beers and gins, this is the place!

28/05/2026: Really disappointing experience tonight. Had a beer spilled on me and asked for serviettes three separate times, only to be completely ignored by the lady behind the bar. Accidents happen, but basic service and acknowledgment shouldn’t be too much to ask for. Definitely left a bad impression.

01/07/2026: Visited Galway from Canada for a conference and found that this place operates on a completely different economic logic than the rest of the city. Cheapest prices, good food, good drinks. Whoever is responsible for keeping these prices student-friendly, please know you are doing god's work.

22/10/2025: Stopped in for a quick Irish coffee, stayed for a couple pints after that. Nice cozy spot. Bartenders friendly and welcoming- even when it gets very busy :)

07/10/2025: Call in on Saturday & Sunday. Bar staff were excellent and pints were delicious. Keep up the good work
