22/10/2025: Stopped in for a quick Irish coffee, stayed for a couple pints after that. Nice cozy spot. Bartenders friendly and welcoming- even when it gets very busy :)

07/10/2025: Call in on Saturday & Sunday. Bar staff were excellent and pints were delicious. Keep up the good work

29/08/2026: We visited there yesterday for dinner. We all ordered the catch of the day. The salmon was exceptional! It honestly may have been some of the best salmon I’ve eaten. I’ve had the salmon at Ashford castle and this was better! The beet hummus was fresh and portion was large enough to share with 3 adults. The service was delightful and so very kind. I will be back. Highly recommend

18/08/2026: I was in Salthill Gourmet Food Parlour on Sunday for breakfast and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I had only eaten one of my eggs when I noticed a hair in my potato cake (which is made in the gourmet food parlour) I told the manager, who took the breakfast away to show the kitchen. What really shocked me was that there was no explanation, and no offer of a replacement or any other way of resolving the situation. I had barely eaten any of the breakfast. The way the situation was handled was extremely disappointing. Finding a hair in your food is bad enough, but the lack of customer service afterwards made the experience even worse. I definitely won’t be rushing back.

12/06/2026: This hotel is overrated and does not meet the standards I would expect from a 4-star property. It feels much closer to a 3-star hotel. The rooms are dated and in need of renovation, and the lack of complimentary bottled water is a surprising omission for a hotel in this category. The front desk service was underwhelming and could benefit from better training and a stronger focus on customer service. The only standout feature is the location, which is the main reason to consider staying here. Please don’t say rate yourself a 4star hotel as it creates false expectations.

12/06/2026: This place was fantastic! We had a bit of an issue with our airbnb while traveling and this place accommodated us so well! The staff is super nice and always greeted us. The location was perfect if you’re looking to stay in Galway! It’s on the same street as the shops and pubs but the hotel stayed nice and quiet despite being on a busy street. Definitely worth staying there!

17/05/2026: I am very impressed. The bed is sooooooo comfortable with very decent pillows. The room was spotlessly clean. And checking in was easy with some fantastic recommendations from Kevin. Salthill is approx a 20 min walk from Galway, but it’s a beautiful walk along the coast. It also has some fantastic restaurants nearby for breakfast. You must go to O’Connors if you’re staying. Great live music.

09/09/2026: Food was delicious. There was one vegetarian dish we were craving, but wasn’t on the menu. They made it for us anyway! We were surprised that ratings for this restaurant weren’t higher. We were greeted and seated quickly. All staff were friendly.

22/10/2025: Location was wonderful. the staff was very kind and tried to be as helpful as possible… Rooms were very outdated, extremely dusty/musty, beds very uncomfortable, Wi-Fi didn’t work half the time & AC was broken with inability to be fixed. The room also smelled terribly of a nursing home which did not dissipate at all with our windows open for two days.

21/10/2025: Such a great spot! I was visiting Galway for a few days with my family, and we could not have picked a better location. All the staff were so kind. Henrique at reception in particular was incredibly helpful and very fun to converse with.

30/08/2026: Sonny Molloy's is a historic, award-winning Irish whiskey bar located in Galway, Ireland, in the vibrant Latin Quarter. The venue is housed in a medieval building dating back to the 1600s that once housed the draper's shop run by the legendary local figure from whom the pub takes its name. Today, it is part of the larger entertainment complex connected to The Front Door Pub. It is internationally renowned for its incredible selection of spirits. It is one of the very few venues in the world to display the entire Midleton Very Rare collection and houses extremely rare chapters of the Silent Distillery Collection. Atmosphere: The bar is the exact same one used by Sonny Molloy in the past, and the building retains parts of Galway's old city walls. In addition to its Whiskey Platters, it is famous for its excellent pints of Guinness and traditional dishes such as the "roast of the day."

20/08/2026: Great atmosphere, good food, and good beer in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Reasonable prices. If you know you're going for lunch or dinner, you should make a reservation.

01/07/2026: Visited Galway from Canada for a conference and found that this place operates on a completely different economic logic than the rest of the city. Cheapest prices, good food, good drinks. Whoever is responsible for keeping these prices student-friendly, please know you are doing god's work.

29/10/2025: I can’t comment as to the quality of the rooms as we only visited for breakfast. I was quite underwhelmed… premium prices for a very bland food offering. I felt rushed, despite the place being relatively empty perhaps best seen when the waitress ushered to clear our table whilst my wife was still eating. I shall not be coming back. Salthill Cottage is only a short drive away and offers better value, nicer surroundings, better food and nicer staff.

03/08/2026: I was pleasantly surprised that this Chinese restaurant serves such delicious pizza!! Tried their 12inch pizza and it’s worth trying, costs around €16/17 (cant remember the exact price). The pizza was great, and the staff were also very friendly. I would happily come back to try more of their menu😊

09/07/2026: I enjoyed at Wokbaba Asian Restaurant. I ordered *Meal A* (chicken balls, chili salt chicken, and shredded chicken combo), and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was fresh, crispy, and full of flavor, with generous portions that made it excellent value for money. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. I would definitely recommend Wokbaba to anyone looking for tasty, freshly prepared Asian food. I'll certainly be coming back to try more from the menu.

22/08/2026: I may be late discovering this place, but I’m so glad I finally did! ❤️ I finally got a taste of my homeland that I’ve been missing for so long. The flavours felt so close to home that tears rolled down my cheeks. Every bite brought back beautiful memories. And the Dahi Puri is an absolute must-try — I can still taste those incredible flavours! 😍 Truly a little taste of home away from home. 🇮🇳❤️✨

07/09/2026: Very disappointed with the food here. Disgustingly sweet. Wife, who is SEAsian, got Pad Thai and I got a Chicken Noodle dish. Wife's Pad Thai was inedibly sweet, so I ended up switching with her so she could have something. Chicken Noodles weren't much better but they were edible. Understanding they're trying to make Thai food for an Irish palate but this seems to be a poor attempt at that. Lots of room for improvement. Staff are very friendly though.

02/09/2026: Its 9pm just went into your mary st place as i love it there and I was told there was no room for 1 person there was a couple of tables of 4 I cant understand how I couldn't sit there as I have before ... I was so disgusted at the way I was treated by your young staff .. Never again !!!!!

03/08/2026: Room was not clean. - Lights and bathroom were very dusty - Toilet was unclean - Shower had black mould - Milk sachets were out of date - Bed linen was ripped - Under the bed was not cleaned from previous stays At breakfast, we were not informed about ordering different eggs. We spent a substantial amount on the stay for 2 nights. The price did not in anyway reflect the cleanliness of the room.

21/07/2026: Good hotel. Tasty restaurant, but you need to improve your service. Waiting 1.5 hours for a meal is definitely too long.
