The best restaurants in Galway

16/12/2025: . Kitchen unorganised. Waited too long for food (35mins). Burgers are on the menu that they don’t have. Was given house chips instead. Only 2 slices pepperoni, a few hidden pieces of bacon with a nice sauce and basic chips.

20/11/2025: Food was ok. Service was very slow. 2.5 hours for 3 course dinner and half an hour was waiting for the bill. Music was too loud in the restaurant and noise levels from nearby tables makes it difficult to hear your table companions further away.

20/03/2026: I have been here a couple of times and each time, I am not disappointed. They take walk-ins, which is great! On my recent visit,we were promptly attended to upon arrival.The service from the staff was impeccable. I ordered the california maki as well as the crayfish and spicy mayo maki. Both were good! I ordered both because I was really hungry, but one could be satisfied with one(depending on one's appetite). For a drink, I ordered an Appletizer(which was good). We were not told about dessert nor were we given a dessert menu. However we saw something about a dessert option(on a small blackboard) as we were about to leave.

01/04/2026: Finally I found the very Italian hot chocolate style. I'm very happy for this. ❤️

31/03/2026: It's a nice place, next to the beach, with pastry. Young men served the breakfast and they were nice.

04/04/2026: I had such a lovely evening here the food was amazing, proper Italian, the atmosphere was warm and friendly. The service couldn’t be faulted at all every member of staff was incredibly helpful. I really recommend booking a reservation if you are in or around Galway.

14/04/2026: We have eaten KFC from many countries, and we have never had such a bad experience. I have shared the photos, but I don't know if what they gave us is old. This is not the taste of KFC chicken. I wanted to eat it a lot but I felt like I shouldn't have eaten it. When people pay money, they expect quality. Today 14/4/2016

04/03/2026: We stayed at Nox recently having just travelled around the world, including enjoying stays at five star hotels. Nowhere we stayed could compare with the amazingly comfortable bed, fine linens and amazing pillows. The bar and lounges are gorgeous. The staff are wonderful and the breakfasts and dinners we had at Fork were excellent. Thanks to all at Nox for making our stay so enjoyable. Andrea

22/01/2026: The owner’s behavior was beyond inappropriate. After I briefly used the restroom, I was confronted about forgetting to flush — fine, human error — but it escalated into being scolded about needing to *wash the sink* because I used hand sanitizer and “you don’t leave a sink that way.” I wish that were satire. What pushed it into absurd territory was the owner then **following me outside onto the street** to continue berating me. For context, this was in Ireland, where public bathrooms regularly survive far worse than a missed flush, and I was a young tourist who had literally just stopped in looking for the Wi-Fi password. That level of hostility says everything about this establishment’s culture. If you’re looking for genuine warmth, fair prices, and an actually wholesome experience, go somewhere authentic instead. Keep your “positive energy” far away from this negative environment — the branding may say serene indication, but the attitude screams bitter.

17/10/2025: There is such an amazing selection of pastries and treats! The prices are so affordable. The staff were really nice and friendly. The perfect place to stop for a perfect quick breakfast.

20/04/2026: Awful experience. We both ordered fish & chips (we had it here previously and it was nice) and this time were we surprised. The fish was 100% frozen it was easy to tell as both plates of fish were identical the batter held the exact same shape which wouldn’t be the case if it was freshly battered and the piece of fish itself was tiny exactly how you get in the frozen section in a supermarket. The chips were horrific, cheap and also frozen. You would think being right beside salt hill fish & chips should at least be a dish that they served well. €20 per meal for something that came straight from the freezer in their kitchen 🤮

01/04/2026: Food portion is good. Some food was tasty, especially the chicken kebab, rice and chips. The Kofta and doners were not as good, as spices were not good enough. Avoid the chicken burger. Service and atmosphere were nice.

06/05/2026: Visited this place yesterday with my friends after suggestion from ‘Leyo’ and we really enjoyed the experience. The fish curry was delicious, and the butter chicken, it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was nice, and we had a great time together. Definitely a place worth visiting if you love good food and a pleasant dining experience

05/05/2026: Absolutely loved this place! The food was simply amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The ambience is just fabulous, with a relaxing vibe that makes you want to stay longer. One of the highlights is the view; you can sometimes spot ships docked nearby, which adds such a unique and beautiful touch while you enjoy your meal. I tried the Porotta + Pazhampori + Beef combo, and wow… what an amazing choice! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Will definitely be coming back!

28/11/2025: Has obviously changed with new owners but not for the better. Restaurant size is reduced for the inclusion of a bakers shop. Walls are now bare. The menu and choice has somewhat shrunk. Sorry not changed for the better. Left feeling disappointed that the must have breakfast in Donegal town is no more. NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

09/10/2025: Great food and atmosphere at Dock 84! 🍴☕️ We stopped into Dock 84 while in Donegal Town and had a really enjoyable experience. The place has a relaxed, modern vibe with plenty of space to sit back and enjoy a meal. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. 😊 I ordered the grilled chicken burger 🍔🐔 and it was excellent — the chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked, with fresh toppings and a soft bun that held everything together nicely. It was filling without being too heavy, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. My wife went for the waffle with a spread of Nutella 🧇🍫 and it was a real treat. The waffle was light and fluffy with just the right crisp on the outside, and the Nutella made it indulgent without being over the top. A perfect sweet option to balance out my savory choice. The second time we went we had egg shakshuka and Tikka wrap which was good again as usual One of the highlights here is that Dock 84 has its own bakery products 🥐🍞, and they are absolute delights — fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. It’s a lovely bonus alongside the main menu. Do note that there’s usually a wait time of around 15 minutes ⏳ throughout the day, but honestly, the food and atmosphere make it worth it. For convenience, there’s a car park directly in front of the café 🚗, though it is a paid one 💳, so keep that in mind if you’re driving in. Service was quick once seated, prices were fair 💶, and the location is ideal if you’re exploring Donegal Town 🏞️. Whether you’re after a hearty bite or something sweet, Dock 84 is a spot worth visiting. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town! 🙌

07/02/2026: I am very dissapointed , one of the workers called me a knacker when i was ordering. I could see him spitting in my food in the back. When i recieved my burger , not only was there spit inside , i also found a pube.
