17/08/2025: AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT – VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE A bad experience for a French group of 40 people whose menu was chosen in advance when booking. Before the meal, one of the group fell down the stairs (poorly maintained and slippery) and fractured their tibia. At no time did the staff show any concern. Insurance and emergency services had to be called for hospitalization in Galway. The manager's welcome and attitude were appalling. Several people ordered drinks, and the manager refused to allow each person to pay for their drinks individually, charging a total 10% surcharge for all menus and drinks. The information regarding this 10% surcharge was only communicated a few days beforehand, and only for the menus. The manager refused to compromise, even threatening to call the police while shouting. The bill contained several errors, which she corrected without even apologizing. Apparently, in a response to another comment, you stated that you are known for your outgoing personality and friendly nature, and that you are never hostile to customers. This does not reflect what happened at the dinner on August 12, 2025, and I confirm that your establishment is a TOURIST TRAP. The worst restaurant experience in Ireland. Please avoid any reservations at GEMELLES.

11/08/2025: For Vegans, excellent food clearly marked, full of flavor and spice. I highly recommend the mushrooms, and the wok fried vegan duck. Top tier. Maybe pass on the vegan dumplings though, that's the only thing that had little taste, little filling. Service was excellent, water was always full. Warm and low lit environment great for a quiet dinner or date.

16/03/2025: iced latte was really bad, very weak with too much syrup it’s a very fake kind of sickly sweetness. staff were lovely and the food looked nice but all i tried was the coffee and i wouldn’t recommend that

15/03/2025: Excellent mocha, pretty good breakfast burrito, very nice server/baristas. Good stop for a quick breakfast before a day of pub crawling.

04/08/2025: Went here for coffee and a few pastries recently. Staff were incredibly friendly and service was prompt. Coffees were good and the scones were delicious and fresh from the oven.

02/08/2025: Have to post a review as my experiences here have been 100% for a year consistently. I keep coming back as the food is absolutely delicious. Great choices on their menu, tasty food that is well priced and presentation of their dishes are usually very pretty! Their staff are always friendly and welcoming. One of the ladies, in particular, always spots when I need to take medicine and drops a glass of water down to my table. Observant and helpful. Overall, it's always a lovely cafe ! 💯

15/08/2025: While the venue itself is spacious and relatively accessible, the staff were rude and unaccommodating. Our waitress commented that it "wasn't appropriate where we were sitting" when one of our party with mobility issues had a walker / mobility aid. The food was okay. We ordered a chicken curry half n half, fish and chips, and a club sandwich. None of it was particularly memorable but nor was it offensive. However due to the rudeness of a few members of staff, we will not be returning and do not recommend it as an accessible / disability friendly venue.

08/08/2025: Great service & staff! Got the Full Irish Breakfast and it was delicious. Plenty of seats available upstairs as well.

17/07/2025: Franchement , ambiance sympa , personnel sympathique … on a super bien mangé … on recommande pleinement… bien placé en ville … la musique pas trop forte ce qui rend ce moment très agréable et tout ça avec le sourire des serveurs

29/06/2025: No reservation. Welcomed and seated immediately. My husband had the burger and I had the beef and Guinness stew. Both were delicious as was the apple pie dessert that followed. Friendly staff. I would recommend and return!

16/06/2025: Came here yesterday with our family for a light snack. All the staff were nice and friendly. We sat outside as the weather was dry and getting sunny. I had tea which was nice and strong and in a big teapot, enough for 2 people easily and the nicest blueberry muffin ever 😋. The kids had iced coffees, brownies and muffins. My husband had a coffee. My daughter had orange juice which was proper freshly squeezed and she said tasted delicious. The brownies were lovely homemade like the muffins. Will definitely call back the next time we're in Salthill.

03/06/2025: Good food, bakery items and ice cream. 3 stars because the coffee is terrible and over priced. If you want a good coffee in Salthill go to Kali, Ré or Jungle.

10/07/2025: Pedimos una ensalada César, pero el pollo no se podía comer: el olor y el sabor eran horribles. Decidimos darle una segunda oportunidad al lugar y pedimos pescado con patatas fritas, pero el pescado también era imposible de comer debido a un olor fuerte y desagradable. La ensalada tampoco estaba fresca. Experiencia muy decepcionante. Evita este lugar si buscas una buena comida.
