The best restaurants in Galway

03/12/2025: I would like to personally thank Pat Mcdonagh (not to be confused with the tinkers) for his safety measuments. My three year old niece almost stuck her finger in the electrical outlet after I said I wouldn't get her an ice age 2006 teddy from the machine on the other side of the restaurant. But luckily she was unable to peel away the years of duct tape.

20/11/2025: Was so happy to find this supermacs as they do gluten free menu and my husband has to have gluten free. It is usually very difficult to find somewhere to eat. The man who served us was very helpful and everything was tasty and my husband had no reactions so will eat there again when we return to Galway 👍👍👍

16/11/2025: When I asked to remake hot chocolate (taste like milk) ledy come to me and said she wanted charge me EXTRA FOR 2 SPONS OF HOT CHOCOLATE. And refused to remake it. Their english was terrible as well. Take very very long to got our order. But after that I never will recommend it. Maybe owners doesn't have enough money for rent? it's disgusting to ask a customer to pay extra for 2 spoons. So unprofessional. Terrible experience, terrible customer service!!!! Menu like terrible as well. Price is too high for that attitude!!!! very slow stuff.

23/11/2025: Visited McDonald's at Headford Road Galway. Super service and friendly staff. Clean and tidy premises and toilets. We enjoyed our meals and desserts. Parking available. Highly recommended.

26/11/2025: I would give it zero but you can’t. No awareness or catering for individuals with diabetes whatsoever. Ask about artificial sweetener and they look at you like you have two heads, like goats looking at lightning. After three attempts saying “art-if-icial swee-ten-er” very slowly, they respond with befuddlement, dazed and confused, baffled and bemused. Same again with another member of staff, 3 attempts again, finally a supervisor, and a bin cleaner seemed to know about it. But the bin man said, it’s very expensive and Big Pat wants us to hide it away, to save money. So on to the subject of fizzy drinks, no Sprite Zero for poor aul diabetes sufferers whatsoever. Again a lacking on the managerial of the operation. So it’s a big fat zero for me, but not the Sprite option.

30/11/2024: Relaxed vibes with luxury treatment. The staff are excellent, professional, and attentive. The only down side to the menu is that I am not local so I can’t try it all. Each dish’s flavor profiles were married so exquisitely. Each bite made lasting memories as I savored every last crumb. This restaurant has set a new standard for me.

15/10/2025: Was highly disappointed with the Breakfast and was early when I was there. Staff looked like they didn't want be there. Place was very quiet not much to do. Breakfast food item were shocking, egg was hard, Rasher was as crisp not even the knife went through it, pudding didn't look great overdone,Beans could count what on plate only decent pieces left were hash brown sausages and toast. Had send all back chef wasn't to pleased but I was paying for it. I got fresh and edible breakfast to standard should have been. Got handed a cup for the tea handle ready come off had get that replaced. Clearly wasn't day eat in there.

20/10/2025: Excellent. We had spiced chicken burger and a smashed burger. Service was brilliant, efficient and friendly.

28/09/2025: Very good restaurant, fast service, one problem however: the aperitif is served at the same time as the starter, but this does not change the quality of the food.

27/09/2025: This place is surprisingly unstable. We visit occasionally, and are usually satisfied. Yesterday we were thinking about visiting during the oyster festival, but the prices are high. We get them delivered to our home, and with delivery, they're a third cheaper. A full dose is 18-24 euros straight from the farms. Nearby, at the Japanese restaurant, they were offering a gift tasting. Free. What a treat! Overall, maybe, but not great.

01/12/2025: The sandwich was good, the wait time was short despite it saying it was busy, and the workers were nice and polite.

21/11/2025: Ordered ahead through the app, the employee was zoned out when i arrived and never started my order. Took forever to make the food, sandwiches were okay, wrap was horrible. Employee may wipe hands on pants and touch everything then proceed to touch your sandwich. I love subway, this was highly disappointing.

17/10/2025: If you visit Galway, Charcoal Grill is a must try, it’s very central and the food is banging!

12/10/2025: Right time, right place. And Chaka Aga was the man for the job! I had the lamb kebab and my son had the mixed kebab. We were hungry after a day of hiking the Cliffs of Moher and The Charcoal Grill did not disappoint. Thanks Shaka!
