The Boat Inn

09/01/2024: The chicken burger is up there with the best I've ever had in Ireland. Definitely the best I've ever had in the west! If driving through Oughterard and fancy an epic Chicken burger, do yourself a favour and stop at the Boat Inn. Chips are nicely cooked and tasty too. Highly recommend.

The Twelve Hotel Galway

03/04/2024: Just back from a two night stay at The Twelve and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We stayed in a family suite which was excellent. We ate in the hotel bar both nights and the food was delicious. A special mention to all the staff, they were exceptional. So friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return
30/03/2024: Super friendly staff. Great breakfast. We loved the eclectic feel of the hotel.
One notable thing is the hardwood flooring in the bedroom. It made the room feel super clean and tidy.
The room tablet was a nice touch to learn about the hotel also.

25/02/2024: Went here for Sunday lunch. The most miserable serving of roast beef I’ve ever seen. Would not feed a mouse. 23.50 and I left the place starving.
25/02/2024: The food was excellent. Fresh and full of flavour. The staff were so accommodating and nothing was to much trouble. We'll definitely be back.

21/03/2024: The food was really nice, staff friendly. The only downside was the temperature in the room, it was a little bit cold. In another room they had a fireplace and it looked nice but the room we were in didn’t have one, it was a really rainy day and I would have loved to eat in a warm room.
20/03/2024: The cafe was wonderful! The view is incredible, staff are so friendly. I had the smoked salmon salad for lunch. They have nice coffees too.

07/05/2024: When I visited this place a year or two ago, I was very satisfied with the service and food... after today's visit, I changed my mind. I used to work in a similar profession, I can understand many things, but not this one.
Mainly because of the waiter, unfortunately the staff made you feel like you were an unwanted customer. Dirty bathroom, cobwebs, dirty mirror, cold tap water and one cloth towel that had been there for who knows how long... terrible. !

Kylemore Pass Hotel
30/11/2023: Spent 2 nights here and had a great stay. Rooms are comfortable, staff is friendly. It's perfectly located along the main road, near the most important sights, for if you want to explore the Connemara region. Also, considering there are not so many options to eat and drink out in the area, the hotel also has a bar and restaurant, which makes it even more convenient. Can definitely recommend. Book with them directly!
02/10/2023: Very cozy hotel and very nice operators. The room was tidy and the service was completely satisfactory. The staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet and very rural area, good for hiking and excursions. It has a great view of the hills and the lake. An absolute recommendation for anyone who likes it quiet and secluded.
