Doonmore Hotel Restaurant

02/04/2024: Nice gastropub. Menu is not extravagant but has interesting and popular dishes. Staff were polite and friendly. There is parking, but it is somewhat hidden as it is on a side street opposite the pub.

12/03/2024: The pub is lovely. The atmosphere was nice, this was a first visit. The food was delicious, very tasty. We had soup and a wrap. Unfortunately the staff did not represent the place very well. The ladies stood at the bar on their phones for most of our visit and one seemed like my partner was disturbing her while he was wanted to pay but she was chatting.
I would return for dinner to try more of the menu.

04/04/2024: We were there in early January for lunch, and both fancied the seafood chowder. We have eaten here on several occasions, especially when our kids were younger, and found things fine.
I said I would allow enough time to settle myself before giving a review.
We are both now almost 60 years of age and have travelled widely, sampling food from all over. Sorry to say that this must be the most unappetising chowder I have ever been served up. A grey, gooey mess that had been reheated (the filmy layer on top is a giveaway). We will be slow to return.
Such a pity for a nice gastropub in such a lovely location.
04/04/2024: Wonderful! Very kind, perfect and welcoming room with breathtaking view. A la carte breakfast I would say was unexpected and very good. Highly recommended.

🏡 The cafe is very nice and cosy. I loved the atmosphere.

29/03/2024: Great food and portions, decent service, and the owner's incredibly welcoming. The only downside is that you can only pay with cash. I always come here for special occasions. I recommend always booking ahead and opting for a space in the back. But the front of the restaurant is still enjoyable, thanks to the quality of the food and service. There are also a lot of cool souvenirs that add a unique atmosphere to the restaurant.
