Lovely staff, not in your face but very attentive.
The food is always really good. no ask is too much. Always accommodating. Atmosphere is always lovely with menu and decor changing with the seasons. Wine and drinks menu are always really good.
Highly recommend.
It is on the pricy side but worth it if you want a great meal and experience.

Delicious food last night too. Really to our liking. If we are in Ireland again in the summer, we will definitely eat here again.

16/01/2025: Decided to stop and have some lunch after a walk on the beach
On entering we were completely ignored ..even though 2 members of staff were chatting to a friend right in front of us and just left us standing there
Eventually we were seated with no apology
Everything about the girl serving us was borderline rude for example my husband asked for his soup to be served before his burger, only to be told “well I’m not in the kitchen “
On the plus side the food was good… the decor very nice
What a shame to be let down by a rude waitress who gave the vibe that she’d rather be anywhere else..
11/01/2025: From meath had lunch here today from a recommendation from my niece , was absolutely delicious. Had the warm chicken pesto salad , never left a scrap so fresh and flavoursome. Very well priced. If going for lunch get in before 3 , they don't throw you out just don't take food orders after 3. Would love to try their evening food , reopens at five thur, Fri, sat . Give it a shot you will enjoy

We had four different dishes and all were good, wine was selection was decent and staff friendly.
02/12/2024: Eaten here twice, the food and service is lovely.. its a super, intimate restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

27/11/2024: The goat cheese salad itself was also cooked, I think it’s been a few days out. There is no bread with the goat cheese, which is not typical of how this dish is usually served in France.
Traditionally, a salad with hot goat cheese includes the cheese on toast, which was missing here.
For a salad already at 15.5€, I was surprised to have to pay an additional 2.5€ for bread, especially after waiting for it to arrive after the salad had already been served. It needs time for the frozen bread to get hot I guess…
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all. It’s not French cuisine and certainly not the one from the Provence.

27/12/2024: Only a so-so experience. Food ok and service less so. Teens vaping at the entrance all night was a distraction. Visit if you are under 40 and into the atmosphere generated there.
26/12/2024: Great Christmas atmosphere when we were there on Christmas eve. Staff were all very nice and food was lovely. Lots of choice on the menu.

04/11/2024: I revisited the cafe at Donnybrook Fair in Malahide village for the second time on November 1st having been there previously in early October.
Our first visit was a bit disappointing with very slow service and a sense of disarray amongst the staff as to who was responsible for what!
As the DF shop itself is hugely impressive and stocks a huge variety of products, it’s disappointing that the in-house cafe lets the side down.
Regrettably, during our second visit to the cafe, we again encountered dreadfully slow service. Having ordered two latte’s and apple crumble, there was no sign of our order being delivered so after 15 minutes, I returned to the counter to find the young guy who’d taken our order snowed under with customers and back orders. It transpired that the second assistant was on a break so our order along with several others was attached to a clip rail at the coffee machine awaiting preparation!
As I stood waiting, a young girl returned from break and I explained we were in a hurry. She told me she’d drop the coffee to our table but I opted to wait and she prepared the two coffees and explained she’s send the two apple crumble over immediately. The coffee was served but no tea spoons given so I grabbed some of the stir sticks close by.
A few minutes passed and the crumbles were served, no fork, not warned as requested, no cream or ice cream and very poor presentation. Very disappointing.
15/10/2024: This is a fantastic high end retail food emporium with quality food and produce. Shop in comfort with knowledgeable employees to help you find the perfect product for you.
Fish, meat and vegetables are all specialty items so always worth a visit.
They Sl’s have a fabulous restaurant and coffee shop attached so there is the opportunity to have a lunch or a decent coffee as you shop in peace.
