24/05/2025: We made a last-minute stop in Naas, and after checking out the reviews decided to give the canvas Café a try. Wow! I had Eggs hollandaise florentinr and asked for a side of sautéed mushrooms. They were seasoned to perfection! My husband really liked his French toast with berries and bacon. A picture of empty plates would be a more apt description lol. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed! Our compliments to the chef! John 3:17

02/06/2025: Love butt Mullins, I’ve never had a bad meal there, prawns are always really good to start and I really enjoyed the Parmesan crusted chicken, staff are all so friendly, one of the best restaurants in Naas

04/06/2025: Food and Service Excellent. Can be very busy, so book ahead. The menu changes regularly. It's very consistent. So to me that's a really big plus.

20/05/2025: A great little gastro pub in the centre of Kildare town. I always get the 'blade of beef' when I visit. A lovely occasional treat! The food is simply delicious 😋 and, while not cheap, it's pritty good value for what you get. 😃

06/06/2025: We had an amazing experience! Food was very good. The chicken cashew was the best choice! I know, not something you'd expect at the best pub in Kildare, I was surprised as well. But, nevertheless, it's very good. The staff was very friendly, even for Irish standards. Glad I stopped here for a few hours.

17/06/2025: Very disappointed with the hotel , I booked 2 rooms @ 11pm the 6th of March for the following night the 7th for one night, due do a family incident we couldn’t travel and phoned the hotel at 12pm the following afternoon, the lady that dealt with us said she would try refund the money but this has never happened, we paid €176.40 for a rooms that were never used, we asked for credit that we could use against another stay at another time and this was refused also, I’m in business myself and I understand policy’s but you have to be flexible and some sort of resolution should have been found by the hotel, Very disappointed and will not recommend unfortunately, I see the response from the hotel, Saying you couldn’t resell the rooms is ridiculous as the rooms were only booked for a few hours the night before and only held for a few hours, Short term thinking as we travel a good bit to the area and have stayed in some very nice hotels close by such as Lawlors hotel and Killashee and I must say much better customer service.

20/04/2025: Went with a group of 16 for a family dinner. Fantastic food, excellent portion sizes, good value for money. Everyone thought the food was fab. We will definitely be back.

12/06/2025: Stayed in Cell bridge for a few days in June - definitely one of the better pubs in the area and long history. Decent decor, though sports TVs, and interior with lots of comfy booths. Staff friendly and attentive. Food was underwhelming, minimal effort , minimal cuisine. Signature burger was dry, tasteless , pretty poor. Sauces squirted straight out of cheapo bottle. Still at $19. Awful French fries.

08/06/2025: A party of 10..we had a late family lunch where most seemed to enjoy their food, though the prices exceeded the food quality. I limited my wine intake to a single glass of red, and a recent peev of mine, in that I've always considered a glass of wine to be at least 150 ml, but recently was offered a selection of wine size....large or small. In this house the red wine is of the small variety, yet another of the party had a glass of white, a noticeably larger measure. Why would a restaurateur endanger his reputation by this parsimony .

11/06/2025: A hidden gem - arguably the best restaurant / pub in Kildare !

11/06/2025: Ate here over the weekend. Pretty disappointed overall. We were greeted by a heavy smell of bleach when we entered. We were directed to a booth and there was a strong stale smell coming from deep within the upholstery. I'm not particularly sensitive to smells but this was not pleasant. The bathroom smell lingered in the dining area where we sat for the duration of our meal :( There were flies in the dining area aswell which is never a good sign in an establishment serving food. That combined with the other odours, was fairly off putting. Service was erratic - my son's main arrived 10 minutes after everyone else's (pizza - not a complicated dish). Food when it arrived was OK, although my battered fish came in several very un-even looking pieces which were way over-battered and fairly greasy. The fish itself wasn't best quality. Through the meal, 3 different staff members leaned across my food (starter and once for main), 1 making contact with the food itself. 1 of the servers reeked of cigarette smoke. Not a big deal but tells you a lot about the experience / training of the staff. Our table wasn't cleared for over 20 minutes after finishing our main. Maybe this was an off day for the place as other reviews seem good. But for me, at over €150 for 2 adults and 2 young teenagers, this spot needs to seriously up their service, hygiene and food game to warrant those prices. I won't be returning after what was a very below average all round experience for that price.

20/05/2025: Tried this place having not previously heard of it. Very quiet on a Monday afternoon but the food was delicious. The sizzling seitan steak was delicious. Brought the kids and they thought the pizza was delicious too. Will be back for more grub soon.

09/05/2025: Me and a few lads went into McMahons for some breakfast and Ian sorted us out. He was a great chap, really funny, looked after us well and did a crazy trick with my lucozade glass when he was serving it. Absolutely unreal, definitely be back 💪💪

04/05/2025: Had a surprise 30th Birthday for my Husband in McMahons and I couldn’t recommend here enough! The staff were so helpful from beginning to end, they helped to decorate the area and made the whole process so easy! The food platters were absolutely to die for as well and everyone complemented the food and atmosphere. Great live music on also. If you are celebrating any occasion I definitely recommend McMahons! Thanks again.
