03/11/2024: We ate here last night, a group of 8 people. From the moment we were welcomed at the door, we were extremely well looked after. Our server was superb...fantastic personality, and so attentive. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name, but she's a huge asset to the restaurant. The food was very nice, and portion sizes were good. We'll definitely be back.

03/12/2024: Lovely pub, tastefully decorated. Food not so good. Wife has black pudding salad, pudding was like rubber! They made up a toasted ham&cheese for the kid, burnt on outside, cheese was still cold inside, not even melted. Thick slices of bread, an adult would struggle to eat the sandwich, impossible for a 3 year old. Chowder was tasty, just not very warm

02/12/2024: Food and Service Excellent. Can be very busy, so book ahead. The menu changes regularly. It's very consistent. So to me that's a really big plus.

10/12/2024: Really nice restaurant, good value for money. Probably wouldn’t eat here often as the dishes are very indulgent - it would be so nice to see some healthier options. The midweek lunch menu has just 2 options for vegetarians and no options for vegans. Not sure if the breakfast or weekend menu is any different.

25/11/2024: We like to eat on Sunday afternoons. Excellent service, friendly employees, family atmosphere, varied menu. Affordable prices. One of the best restaurants in Maynooth.

18/11/2024: Best pub in Maynooth! We were in town for a week and went to the pub for a dinner and had a really nice surprise with the quiz night, we had so much fun. We played as España FC!

10/12/2024: Really noisy musician with high amplification, disturbed our enjoyment, causing us to finish off our drinks and leave!

08/12/2024: We had a wonderful experience at O’Neill’s! The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Great variety on the menu The meal was also good value for money, The kiwi martini was really great Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty burger or a tasty curry, O’Neill’s is a fantastic choice. I’ll definitely be back!

18/05/2024: I was at the hangedmans restraunt today with my family. As I was sitting down having our dinner I over heard a horrendous conversation with the owner of the restraunt. The owner was shouting at a woman from what I understood was not her fault at all as someone with her had canceled a booking, the owner then went on to tell the woman to f***off and to leave. Another man then came up to tell the owner that this wasn’t right or talk to a woman like that, and his response to the man was f*** off aswell, totally inexcusable behaviour and should not shout and use vulgar language to a woman. I said it to him when paying for our bill that I would be leaving this review as I was disgusted with his behaviour. Do not come here unless you want to be shouted at or abused for no reason. The owner is a horrid man

26/11/2024: The food was excellent, cooked to perfection, great variety on the menu and great value for money, the staff were absolutely amazing and efficient not to mention so polite. Wonderful atmosphere overall a great experience and I can't wait to return Well done to all the staff 👏

22/11/2024: What a fantastic Pub, the staff are very friendly and brilliant service the Manager is great with the kids, helpful and very efficient. Food is well presented and Hot, and very tasty. Excellent.

16/11/2024: Stopped in for lunch, and we loved it! Great atmosphere, delicious food, pints are tasty and cold. It was crowded the day we went, so service was slower than we are accustomed to, but it was overall a great place dining, drinking, and chatting with friends.

10/11/2024: Accommodated without a booking at the bar. Gluten free knowledge was impeccable and food was fantastic. I'd definitely make a reservation and visit again. Great choice on the menu for non gf too. Service was spot on as well.

15/12/2024: A group of us had dinner here last night and it was absolutely top notch. The food was incredible, cocktails were made perfectly and the staff were so friendly and fun. If I didn’t live 2 hours away I'd go every weekend! Highly recommend.

13/12/2024: Christmas do. Had to wait a half hour past our booking time in the doorway, sidestepping staff and customers. When our table freed up, we waited another half an hour for any food. In fairness, it was a Friday evening in December. Probably should have expected it. Had the Calamari to start. Was tasty and a good-sized portion. Ordered the battered fish and chips for the main. It was strongly smoked and not to my taste, but entirely my own doing for not reading the menu properly! 🫣 Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Had a sticky toffee pudding to finish. Was very nice. Service was fine. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. All in all, not bad. Would give it another go, but at a less busy time.
