16/11/2025: Lovely spot. Great staff. Food is excellent. It's pricey though for what you get. A sea food chowder shouldn't be mostly potatoes and be 16 euro as a starter. Pizzas are a tad pricey at 19 euro.

07/12/2025: My wife and adult daughter rang to reserve a table on the evening of December 4th 2025. They were told reservations were not accepted so they arrived a while later. They bought two drinks at the bar and sat at a table. Almost immediately the "Manager" arrived and abruptly told my wife and daughter they could not sit there as the table was reserved for other people. My wife told him they would not move as they have been told there are no reservations, there is no "reserved" notice on the table. The manager said that there were other people he had been holding this table for. My wife said explained that her and my daughter had bought drinks from the bar, and would not move. The manager then loudly said that he would not allow them to be served for the evening A waitress approached, apologised and went to hand my wife menus, but from the other side of the bar told the waitress not to serve them! A young male waiter went over to them and apologised and offered to walk my wife and daughter to another restaurant down the road. My wife said she felt embarrassed, belittled and very intimidated. ABSOLUTELY ABHORRENT BEHAVIOUR

15/12/2025: The best place for food and service hands down! Had our sons Christening here at the weekend and it was a large group of 25. Everyone loved their food. It was served promptly and was delicious as always. Service was excellent as always too. Highly recommend. Such a lovely atmosphere too

01/12/2025: I ate the 38 day aged steak sandwich, medium rare. Absolutely wonderful - though I'd preferred skinny fries but that's me being picky. rye river coastal IPA was on point and a brilliant accompinant to the meal

22/11/2025: Well all I can say is that the village inn celbridge is one of the best pubs and restaurant i have been in and today really topped it all , I have been in the village inn on a number of occasions for food and at night for the pints and always highly recommended it , 2 week ago I rang the manager in there and explained that I was looking for a booking for about 20 people for today Saturday for a family 80th birthday lunch time food and small celebration well the manager took on board what we wanted and went all out and you always know when u have good management the staff work well as for today they gave us a small area up the back and the staff were just the best looking after our needs all day been there on top of think but one girl really stood out (never got her name but the management will know and hopefully name her ) but she looked after everyone food drinks anything we needed lovely person well thats it guys thanks for a great day and we will be back very again oh ye they do lovely guinness 😀

02/11/2025: Gorgeous Cafe with super friendly staff. The buffalo chicken burger and the bacon hash are unreal!! 🤤 one of my fave places to go, and it’s great you can get a takeaway also!

19/10/2025: Great range of products the deli was one of the best i have ever seen. The staff were fantastic and Cheerful even dealing with the very big que which they got sorted quickly and professionally everyone seemed happy with there purchases

28/10/2025: Very nice pub food. Chicken wings are some of the nicest Ive had in the Kildare area. Fish and chips lovely and fresh. The only let down was the chicken burger which was just a bit dry and not very tasty but everything else was very enjoyable. Loved the creme brulee too and staff were all very friendly.

27/10/2025: First but not last time to visit Cookes..... the food is absolutely gorgeous. We all struggled to choose as the menu sounded so good & nobody from our party of 9 was disappointed. Will be back soon 😊
