The best restaurantsof irish in Kildare

26/07/2026: At 1st sight not a great impression even though we like (even fake) Eames chairs. But food was BY FAR the best we had on our Ireland trip. I had the Piri Piri chicken which I suggest all wanna be chefs should try to set their standards and the whole family was happy with their food. A marvelous surprise!

04/06/2026: I can't say enough about our experience at Silken Thomas. The owners are clearly treating their staff well, because it shows in how the staff treat the clients. Everyone from Reception, to the Bar, to the Restaurant (for both dinner and breakfast), to the person who showed us to our room, had a smile on their face and looked happy to be there. We felt well taken care of and everything we ate was delicious. We both loved the location and the recent redo, especially the shower. Special shout out to the lovely room cleaners and management who went the extra-mile to not only reach out to me to let me know I'd left a t-shirt behind on the bed, but also posted it to me in Dublin. My offer to reimburse them for the postage fell on deaf ears. The t-shirt has an illustration of a dearly departed pet on it and means an enormous amount to me, so I'll never forget Silken Thomas's kindness. Aces from top to bottom.

04/08/2026: I went here on Sunday with my family for the first time and I'm already planning my next visit. Staff were so friendly and attentive and the food was fab. I had the Sunday roast and my partner had the seabass special. Both amazing. It was extremely busy there when we went but it looked like the staff were well used to it. If I could give more stars I would.

03/08/2026: Had my partners Mark 60th birthday party in the Green Room. The food platters were incredible and the young male server looking after us was so nice cheerful and friendly, wish i got his name. Sarah , the manager was so helpful when it came to organising this event. Everyone who attend had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend Dew Drop Inn . Thanks to all the Staff for making this a truly wonderful evening. Catherine.

12/07/2026: Great pub in Kildare town. Called in for some food and it was very good. The staff were very attentive and friendly, they chatted to all the customers making them feel right at home. There is plenty of space in the pub and it had a great atmosphere.

09/07/2026: Had a fabulous meal and experience in The Dining Room. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was excellent t.

22/07/2026: We went on our Date night too see what the two courses for €30 special would be like but there was nothing on the options that tickeled our fancy. However we were pleasantly surprised to find a steak on the stone special at €30 per person and we decided to run with that. The steak was absolutely delicious and was served with house chunky chips and mushroom and pepper sauce. It was served on a massive platter plate and was the best steak we have had in a long time. The staff were all really friendly and knew the menu inside out. We had Chicken wings to start whick were massive and a shared chocolate Fondant for dessert. The place was very busy for a Tuesday night and this gives an indication of how lovely overall the atmosphere is. And as Arnie says..Ill be back.

22/07/2026: A very charming family business with excellent quality and friendly service. Definitely recommended in Castledermot – well worth a detour! We came to Castledermot from Duckett Grove to see the Roundtower and the Abbey.

22/07/2026: Had the Surf and Turf for Dinner. Service was good. Wine was a good recommendation for the meal. Shrimp tasted great and perfect temperature. However the steak lacked taste, it was cooked perfectly (medium rare) but a bit cool upon delivery. Mashed potatoes also cool on delivery. This could have been due to how busy they were. I would definitely try again.

04/07/2026: Super pub, paul, donal and ross are excellent operators, alanana and the floor staff are all amazing and its by far the best pub in celbridge for food and service

02/06/2026: This place was excellent. Great food, great beer, great people. We traveled from the States and this pub was only a short walk from our Vrbo. We visited this pub twice, as our first and last stop in Ireland, since it was so good. There is even a parking lot right behind back with cheap parking. 10/10 would recommend and will be eating/drinking here again when we eventually visit Ireland again.

18/07/2026: Chips were so hard and greasy from obviously being cooked in dirty oil. Service was very slow. Servers were very friendly and nice.In spite of asking for dairy free and being assured we could have it,we got gravy all over the dinner!!! Definitely will not be back.

27/06/2026: The Bistro at Lawlors of Naas served us the worst food ever tonight. Asked for Chips without salt they came out pickled. Beef dish was disgusting beef tasted weird, big lump of cabbage and all served in a puddle of bisto. Left our complaint with duty manager who also couldn't care less as he was just trying to get through the night with undertrained, understaffed, servers. Will never return here again

22/06/2026: Fabulous hotel. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast great choice. Staff really efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
