11/01/2026: The Village Inn is a truly special gem! We were promptly greeted and our names taken by Ross for the waitlist, who was incredibly charismatic and helped us get a drink while we waited for a table. We instantly felt like friends with the staff and customers there. A nice man whose name was Dugan or Donnel (I think, I apologize if I misspell/misremember names here!) told me he could make me the best espresso martini of my life. I doubted him, but it truly was the best of my life. And I’ve had hundreds! Keen (spelled phonetically, I apologize again for not knowing how to spell Irish names!) took care of us while we waited for a table and was happy to chat with us. The rugby game was on and it was so fun to cheer with other patrons! When we were sat for dining we had the absolute pleasure of being taken care of by the kindest and most attentive servers, Lauren and Jane. They were knowledgeable about the menu, quick with recommendations, and happy to accommodate our gluten intolerance. Plus, they are good craic! The food was delicious, the cocktails phenomenal, and the service technically great. But like any good restaurant or pub, the true value is in the quality of its staff. The Village Inn is wealthy in its charming and skilled staff. We will be returning often and tipping generously!

07/12/2025: My wife and adult daughter rang to reserve a table on the evening of December 4th 2025. They were told reservations were not accepted so they arrived a while later. They bought two drinks at the bar and sat at a table. Almost immediately the "Manager" arrived and abruptly told my wife and daughter they could not sit there as the table was reserved for other people. My wife told him they would not move as they have been told there are no reservations, there is no "reserved" notice on the table. The manager said that there were other people he had been holding this table for. My wife said explained that her and my daughter had bought drinks from the bar, and would not move. The manager then loudly said that he would not allow them to be served for the evening A waitress approached, apologised and went to hand my wife menus, but from the other side of the bar told the waitress not to serve them! A young male waiter went over to them and apologised and offered to walk my wife and daughter to another restaurant down the road. My wife said she felt embarrassed, belittled and very intimidated. ABSOLUTELY ABHORRENT BEHAVIOUR

07/01/2026: Style and elegance with staff that are obliging and courteous. Food is outstanding and the rooms are spacious. Very centrally located which was a major reason we chose it for our function.

18/01/2026: Exceptional visit tonight. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Portions were huge and food was flavoursome. We will be back.

11/01/2026: I went here for the first time ever for a date night & it was absolutely 💯 from start to finish! The atmosphere was cosy & warm, we had a 3 course and it was amazingly delicious & I haven't been able to finish every meal from a 3 course in a long, long time! Have to compliment especially the sticky toffee pudding, it was to die for 🤤 The staff were extremely friendly & professional, kind & warm. Definitely will be back again to sample more from the menu! 😊 Sadly, I scoffed down the dessert so fast, I forgot to snap a picture 😂

09/01/2026: Great place to eat! I have been to Silken Thomas several times with friends and recently my fiancée. Food is always delicious. Steaks are amazing. I ordered medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. My fiancée ordered his rare and said it’s the best steak he ever had. Fries were fluffy and crispy. Also ordered spicy chicken wings with blue cheese sauce and desserts and can warmly recommend everything. Service and the staff is always lovely and super helpful if you need recommendations. We were looked after by a dark haired older lady and she was super. On weekdays you barely have to wait for the food. Very big venue and lots of tables so great for a couple or even bigger parties.

07/01/2026: We booked a table for New Year's Eve. It was our first time to visit. The food was excellent and wine selection was good. Service was a little patchy. For us, there was very little atmosphere. Maybe our expectations were off. We would definitely go back and would recommend it.

19/12/2025: I had the best seabass in Ireland ☺️it was all perfect. I also had the bramley apple pie and it was scrumptious 🤣 I also got seafood chowder to take away.... Also the best I've ever had.

05/01/2026: Two of us needed a quick lunch on Saturday. We were lucky enough to be served by the charming and very professional Ian/Jani. He was excellent and gave good advice. We had a coffee and a tea, two bowls of really good chicken soup and tuna melt sandwiches made with soda brown as requested. It was all perfect and quick. We will definitely be back and hopefully when Ian/Jani is on duty. Total price, €31.70 Others were having full meals - steak sandwiches, fish and chips, pasta and the roast of the day. All looked equally good which tells us that McMahons would be a good place to eat at any time. So, I've no doubt, we will be back and hopefully, when Ian/Jani is on duty too.

21/12/2025: We had a last get together for our club to finish off the year. Great experience! Definitely recommend going
