Excellent . Of course the famous chicken wings . Atmosphere lovely . Staff attentive but no in your face . Had a lovely evening .
20/08/2025: Food has improved a lot, very enjoyable. Front of house staff extremely welcoming. Unfortunately our particular waitress was very unfriendly, and seemed to forget about us after mains so we had to go find someone to get dessert menus after waiting a long time. The bill had extra items on it which had to be amended.

13/09/2025: Haven’t visited the Ballymore Inn in a while and don’t know why not!!! The food was delicious the menu has expanded and has something for everyone. I have to say the stand out was the manager Paul. He could not have been any more accommodating. We arrived a few minutes late and there wasn’t an issue in fact he recommended we have adding in the bar while he arranged a nicer table for us. Felt absolutely spoilt from arrival to departure.
My only criticism was that the fire wasn’t lighting but I’m looking to autumn evenings in the Ballymore Inn

17/11/2025: This is mainly a restaurant, but with rooms available. We had lunch here. This is how a restaurant should be run. No booking needed. Waited just a few minutes for a table for two to become available. Fast, friendly service. Good food (chicken curry and fish & chips, respectively). Metered parking in their private car park in the centre of Kikdare Town is free to customers.
10/11/2025: Was here on Friday night with the family and the fish and chips was awful. They really need to do a lot better if they are charging €18 for its fish and chips. My wife had the lasagna which was ok but all in the all we didn’t find the food to be that good. Service was brilliant all though I wouldn’t order the Guinness from the restaurant, in the pub it’s really good.

06/10/2025: Have to say , recently we went to a similar place in temple bar, we got a very similar dinner here at the monread , and both myself and partner thought the food here was beautiful! Our son loved it too , and loved his Unicorn Pooh Sundae Ice Cream. Service is very quick .

28/10/2025: Very nice pub food. Chicken wings are some of the nicest Ive had in the Kildare area. Fish and chips lovely and fresh. The only let down was the chicken burger which was just a bit dry and not very tasty but everything else was very enjoyable. Loved the creme brulee too and staff were all very friendly.
27/10/2025: First but not last time to visit Cookes..... the food is absolutely gorgeous. We all struggled to choose as the menu sounded so good & nobody from our party of 9 was disappointed. Will be back soon 😊

12/08/2025: We had lunch yesterday (Monday) but we believe we got the leftovers of Sunday lunch - potatoes were watery and grey (my wife could ye eat them) I had turkey & ham - ham was bacon and was good, stuffing was ok and the turkey was one small dried out slice - my wife had beef (2 slices) she ate one of the slices and nothing else - roast veg was terrible..
07/08/2025: We "happened upon" McMahon's in Maynooth on our trip from Galway to Dublin.
What a GREAT find!!!
We walked in with 7 people and were welcomed immediately! The food is great! The menu is very diverse! The people are very nice and the restaurant is quite beautiful !
I totally recommend McMahon's if you're in the area!!
