26/02/2026: I had read about the Ballymore Inn over the years in various newspaper reviews but never actually got to visit. I went last week with family over from the UK and we wanted a good brunch as we had collected them from a morning flight. The brunch is only a new thing and I hope they keep it. Everyone agreed it was easily the best breakfast they'd ever had. You can taste the quality and care that went into sourcing/baking the food and preparation. Absolutely delicious! I went for Irish breakfast and usually I would avoid it because most places in Ireland do a greasy plate of meat. This was absolutely incredible - no grease, not awful fat - really good quality meat, the most amazing B&W puddings I have ever tasted - an incredible, what tasted like hand made, hash brown, poached egg....plenty of variety and a large portion. Accompanied by amazing treacle brown bread and toasted sourdough. I can't recommend this place enough for brunch/breakfast to be honest. The staff are lovely, it has a very cosy relaxing atmosphere, it's handy to get to from the main roads. Probably a little on the pricey side - but no more so than anywhere else in Ireland at the moment, ...but it is WORLDS apart in terms of good quality - so very much worth it.

28/02/2026: The potato skin starter is amazing! And very filling. Best to share if you are not a big eater. Their fries are amazing too! Convenient free parking on the westside of the restaurant.

11/02/2026: The Guinness is as good to drink as we found in Ireland and was genuinely going to put up a good review but to top it off I left my wallet here and it was returned to today with cash and my cards intact amazingly honest and helpful staff a credit The Dew Drop Inn and the service industry as a whole

11/01/2026: I went here for the first time ever for a date night & it was absolutely 💯 from start to finish! The atmosphere was cosy & warm, we had a 3 course and it was amazingly delicious & I haven't been able to finish every meal from a 3 course in a long, long time! Have to compliment especially the sticky toffee pudding, it was to die for 🤤 The staff were extremely friendly & professional, kind & warm. Definitely will be back again to sample more from the menu! 😊 Sadly, I scoffed down the dessert so fast, I forgot to snap a picture 😂

07/01/2026: We booked a table for New Year's Eve. It was our first time to visit. The food was excellent and wine selection was good. Service was a little patchy. For us, there was very little atmosphere. Maybe our expectations were off. We would definitely go back and would recommend it.

19/12/2025: I had the best seabass in Ireland ☺️it was all perfect. I also had the bramley apple pie and it was scrumptious 🤣 I also got seafood chowder to take away.... Also the best I've ever had.

02/03/2026: Surprisingly tiny when you walk in. The food and service are nice but it gets really loud here in the evening, resulting in it being very stuffy and weird-smelling inside.

30/01/2026: Disappointing experience. While I was at the nail salon next door getting my nails done, my daughter who is 2,5 years old needed to use the bathroom. The staff at the nail salon told me that they share a restroom with the café and that I could go there. The café was about to close but still had staff inside. I knocked on the door while standing there with my two children, and a staff member looked at me through the window but didn’t open the door or ask if I needed help. It felt very rude and dismissive. I wouldn’t knock on a closed business for no reason—especially with young children. A little basic kindness and communication would have gone a long way.

14/02/2026: I am writing this review in the hope that something will improve. This gastro pub used to be a nice place to eat, but over the past 1.5 years the food quality has declined to an unacceptable level. We first visited two years ago for my birthday and everything was great. I returned a couple of times after that, and it was still good. However, during a later visit we were served overcooked pasta and low-quality food, so we decided not to go back. We recently gave it another chance after 1.5 years, but nothing has improved. The schnitzel and braised beef were dry and overcooked, the tomato sauce was unpleasantly sour, and the onion was undercooked and crunchy. The whole dish lacked basic flavour. I won’t be back.

25/01/2026: Fair fuel prices, deli, coffee from a machine or barista and a bottle return that rarely has queues.

24/01/2026: new speed bumps are ridiculous don’t even stop the racer cars as they can drive around it, i always go over the speed bump in first gear as they wreck ur car, absolutely smacked the bottom of my car going over it the other day

19/02/2026: The meal itself was a bit on the pricey side. €2.20 for a pint of mi-wadi aswel left a bit of a bitter taste The food was nice and the portion size was big though so that did offset it

05/01/2026: Two of us needed a quick lunch on Saturday. We were lucky enough to be served by the charming and very professional Ian/Jani. He was excellent and gave good advice. We had a coffee and a tea, two bowls of really good chicken soup and tuna melt sandwiches made with soda brown as requested. It was all perfect and quick. We will definitely be back and hopefully when Ian/Jani is on duty. Total price, €31.70 Others were having full meals - steak sandwiches, fish and chips, pasta and the roast of the day. All looked equally good which tells us that McMahons would be a good place to eat at any time. So, I've no doubt, we will be back and hopefully, when Ian/Jani is on duty too.

21/12/2025: We had a last get together for our club to finish off the year. Great experience! Definitely recommend going
