10/05/2026: Everything is perfect, from entering to leaving. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The stakes are cooked to perfection. The feathered beef is a melt in the mouth experience from the fork full my wife begrudgingly gave me. It is a return destination.

02/05/2026: What a treat! Had a last minute.com decision to go out on a Saturday evening. Decided to try The Dew Drop in Kill for early evening meal - booked a table x2 @ 5.15 which was only slot available until 8.30pm. A very engaging pleasant hostess showed us to our table at the very back of the restaurant, lovely quiet but atmospheric area, beautifully decorated and away from the 'buzz' of the front area of the restaurant. Our waitress was very helpful, smiling away doing her job and was very professional and attentive without being "too much". Wonderful experience from service perspective. Menu had great variety. The food did not disappoint! Beautifully presented and flavours were tantalising! We never felt rushed... leisurely finished our meal with a shared desert and well made Irish Coffee. Definitely will be back. Service was top class... something I put huge value on these days. So "Well Done" Dew Drop! You are nailing it! 😉

27/04/2026: We attended a recent family special event.... I can't say enough good things about this establishment... Great service.. great food.. great selection... Even samples of their beer selections... As for the waiting staff & especially the Gentleman that offered my Daughter her an option with her car issues.. they are all outstanding on many levels.... WELL DONE ALL

13/05/2026: We went for Sunday carvery and had a lovely lunch. Very generous portions of tender beef, beautifully seasoned vegetables and gravy. Extremely tasty. Definitely recommend the food. ALSO Highly recommend having a browse around the immense ground floor which has many nooks and crannies, lovely hidden areas. All beautifully decorated with very interesting artworks and interesting objects and gorgeous stained glass windows... stunning. A great venue to satisfy the tummy and the eyes ☺️

19/05/2026: We go to Cooke's quiet regularly, we recently celebrated our daughter's communion dinner here. We had the set menu in the Fox and Hare, the food was gorgeous, the staff could not have been any more helpful. We had the room to ourselves so the kids could enjoy themselves without disturbing other people.

17/05/2026: ​We visited Cookes of Caragh yesterday for a large family celebration. It was absolutely lovely from start to finish. ​From the moment we arrived, we were incredibly well looked after. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the hospitality was second to none. ​Thank you to the whole team for making our family celebration so memorable. We highly Cookes of Carragh.

20/04/2026: Everthing is good,absolutely everything, the Pub atmosphere, the drinks, the pub food and especially the Restaurant food, absolutely value for money. The Staff however are extra special, go and you'll understand, extremely friendly and extremely professional. Overall 11 out of 10. Well done all.

His mixology is incredible, his service is outstanding, and it is all topped off with the kind of personality every customer hopes for. Connor is the reason we became repeat customers. If his drinks were not already the star of the show, he easily would be himself. He has made several evenings truly memorable. Matteo also deserves a special mention. He is consistently welcoming, attentive and professional, and he adds so much to the warm atmosphere of the place. His service is excellent, and he helps make every visit feel smooth, relaxed and enjoyable. They are truly lucky to have him, and his contribution certainly does not go unnoticed. Andrew was an absolute pleasure to be served by. He was attentive, personable and eager to make sure everything was just right, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. What really stood out was the human touch in his service — we had such a lovely chat with him, and it was genuinely refreshing to be served by someone so warm and engaging.

24/05/2026: Hartes has been one of my favorite places to eat for a decade, but over the last year or two, the standards have noticeably slipped. During a recent visit for Sunday lunch, the service was lacking; no one came to check on our meal, and we had to ask for basic table settings like salt and pepper. The food itself was incredibly disappointing. The horseradish mentioned on the menu was missing entirely, and the dish lacked the warmth you'd expect, tasting as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The roast potatoes were easily the worst I’ve had—soggy and practically tasteless. To top it off, the portions were tiny despite the expensive price tag. Overall, the food has become mediocre. It completely lacks the flair and originality that made Hartes so special years ago.

22/05/2026: My wife and I wandered in here while in Kildate town. What a find. Food was outstanding, great menu (spoiled for choice), very reasonably priced. It was a Thursday, 5.30-6ish, and the place was packed by 7. Many Restaurant Association Awards on the wall as you walk in, I can see why. Great to find a place putting out that level of quality so near to where we live.

20/04/2026: What a delight! Both the Café itself and the food. It was a pleasure to visit again, the food was excellent, the staff were amazing and the Sunday lunch was a treat for a tired passer by. With options for changes of the meals to make them suitable for various diets, large portions and accompanied with excellent coffee, this place is well worth a trip on its own.

02/04/2026: Arrived here at 12:55, and was seated immediately, had a delicious Goats Cheese Brioche with chips (it was yummy, and their chips aren't just cheaper crappy "filler" chips you sometimes get), had a very nice -- and large -- cappuccino. Went for a poo and the toilets were very clean. Had a second Cappuccino. Efficient service, too. By the time I got out, it was nearly 12:56, so plenty of time for other activities. Would recommend (though the guy next to me had a minor conniption over something about his new Rolex not working... I dunno...

14/05/2026: The food was delicious and really enjoyable, but the service let the experience down. Our food arrived before our drinks, and we could see the drinks sitting on a tray at the bar for around ten minutes. At one point I was very tempted to collect them myself. When I asked about them, the waitress said she would go check, which was a bit frustrating given it was 4pm on a Thursday and not busy. The food itself was very good, but the service needs more attention and organisation.
